Silicon Valley - New Mike Judge 8-Part HBO Series (2 Viewers)

Finally watched this week's episode. I love this show, and while I do laugh a lot, there was a line from this week where I literally was laughing out loud so hard I had to rewind it because I missed a good 30 second of the show. I believe it was the "I've been known to #### myself" line. :lmao:
Same here - watched it last night. The crazy financier was a bit much/over the top to me. Seems like such a character is more of a jumping the shark move that is way too early for this show.

Don't think it is a jumping the shark moment, but his act is already wearisome.

I don't think its a jumping the shark moment either, but he/it plays as a jumping the shark character/situation to me. I am hoping the introduction of this character doesn't blow this show up. I love the show with its underlying story and characters (big fan of Ehrlich - loved the pool scene where he thinks he's all that).

The entire dynamic of Guilfoyle constantly dryly making fun of everything Russ said and getting "I love this guy!" responses while Erlich was trying desperately to bond with this dude and getting roundly dismissed was hysterical. That line was a big f'n cherry on the top of that sundae. I love the show more every week. Like (almost) all things Judge-created, it's brilliant and nuanced and gets better on repeated viewing.

Agreed. Judge is a genius.

There was no need to add Jim Rome to the show.

Great episode. The Ehrlich guy is pretty amazing.
Agree. He stands out to me. He's a totally self-absorbed geek.
He definitely does the most with his character. The Indian guy and the scrubby looking programmer also are good each week for some good lines.
He's Pakistani
In my entire career in software I've known 1 Pakistani guy and he lived in India half of his life. 99.9% are Indian. Just saying.

His bravado kind of steps on Erlich's.

got the HBO free month...

watched the first two episodes last night. was all I could do to turn it off and not just binge my through.

so far, I actually prefer the other characters to the Erlich guy.
Your face needs to be compressed from the middle out.
that's true. it actually does need to be compressed from the middle out. but it's too tedious, so I don't. at least until I get to the episode with that line in the show?
Your face has a very low D2F ratio.
now you're just being mean. :(

Ehrlich grew on me...I'm not a huge TJ Miller fan...but man he's dialed in on the character and always delivers.

ok... binged the rest of season 1 last night

so good. have come around on erlich- especially as he fits into the group for the show.

now regretting the binge... should've tried to stetch it out for more enjoyment. and so I wouldn't be so tired this morning. but sooooo ####### good.

Well you can catch up on Season 2 now

Like the new chick, like the charity event, like the promotion to Co-Head of Department... Love the SWAG :lmao:

A company with 5 employees doesn't need SWAG :lmao:

still amazing.

The guy that plays OJ (Original Jared....) was awesome on The Office and he's basically playing the same character on steroids here. He just nails every line.

I love everything Mike Judge does. Man is a genius. The concepts, writing, and the right actors to match the characters. Nails all of it.
