Wow there is tons of B&M business transacted here in the FFA. Way more than I would have imagined.

seriously - and I thought this was an overall dooshy crowd but it looks like there are some nice genuinely people here. ;)

During the week after Katrina, cgrdrjoe and jplvr both came through for me. cgrdrjoe is in the coast guard and was deployed near new orleans. During that time, I called him a few times giving him the names/addresses of a few people I knew who were missing at the time. They ended up turning out ok, but the effort was much appreciated. Also, my grandmother lived in Biloxi and we couldn't get in touch with her for like 5 days after the storm (cell phones didn't work)....jplvr was going down to Biloxi to help out one of my friends. He agreed to drive past her house to check if she was ok. About a few hours before he was supposed to get there, we got a call from her and everything was fine (other than her broken hip)very solid by both of those guys during some rough times :excited:The fun answer of course is.....Tremendous Upside selling me his 2nd ticket to the Peral Jam Fan Club only show .....best concert I've ever been to :lmao:I've received countless other acts of generousty and advice that has saved me time, money, aggrivtation, etc....than I could list.
in Vegas for WCOFF weekend...TigerFan got up at like 6am and saved a bunch of seats in the Venetian sports book so we could watch the opening Sunday games in comfort.GB him too.
:D

Many, many posters here have given me their support over the years. If I start naming people I'll forget some so I'll just say they are all known here and some of them I disagree with on a regular basis but when push comes to shove they have been there. I can't thank them enough.

I do want to send out a special thanks to Bueno for his kindness and support last Christmas. Thank you.

Very few have taken me up on my offer of Video Poker "strategy" here. When I still thought the Huddle was a worthwhile place, I helped out a few folks who benefited greatly.

If you are coming to Vegas, or want to try it out in a casino near you - black dot this and hit me up!

I was away when this thread made its first run, but I have to add another vote for krista4, who made good on her promise here to send my girlfriend and me to a great restaurant in Chicago. Her generosity was completely unprompted, and was just a great surprise.

This board really never ceases to amaze me.

Numerous folks on here have been exellent to me, including Joe Bryant and staff.

Probably the greatest gift I've received is the immense knowledge and sage advice I've received here, and in chat.

Last year when I decided to start losing some weight I stumbled upon Tipsy's Weight Loss Challenege thread. Got hooked up with Keerock's site for tracking the friendly competition, and Musesboy referred me to SparkPeople. Thanks to the encouragement of the three above, and others, I lost 60+ pounds in just under six months. Now a full year after I've began, it is a total lifestyle change and I've kept the weight off.

To top it off, Musesboy PM'd me some live Throwing Muses concert stuff as a congrats for my progress!

I do not deserve the thanks DW gave me since UrbanHack hooked me up with the foursome which I, in turn, shared with DW.

DPRugby sent me a PS3 game

David Yudkin gave me some resume advice a couple years back which helped me obtain a job very quickly after being laid off and which later helped me land my current gig.

I strongly believe in paying it forward and have gotten a lot from this place and in turn, try and give when I can.

Anytime buddy. Glad things worked out for you.

I will start. Z Machine, who I had not met, basically gave me the keys to his place in Madrid when I was on vacation, putting me up for 3 days or so and allowing me to come and go as I wanted. He showed me around, and was able to give me the local's perspective. Very cool of him! And I paid him back by helping to get him ####ed up the last night there, knocking on his door around 10 and asking if he was planning on going to work :lmao:

good times :)

I've got a list of little things, but I appreciated them all:

- Nigel Tufnel said I was "good people" when someone asked "who is this guy" about a month ago. :)

- NCCommish gave me the lowdown on what the process is for becoming Papa John's management via PM when I asked. :lmao:

- Mr. Phoenix introduced me to Ron Paul, who is now the one candidate I believe in. :lmao:

- Jayrok had made me question many of my religious beliefs. :lmao:

- The FBG staff helped me get to 2 FF superbowls in my 2 leagues where I won one of them

It was a good year for me at FBG.com

I think that my main man, Fullback Fro gets my nod for the single act of kindness. After meeting up at Toronado, he gave me a ride back to his place and gave me the hookup on some very good, homegrown butter that he had stashed in his freezer.

I haven't gotten a chance to return the favor, but since I'm livin' East Bay now for good, I hope to be able to soon.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year from mi suegra's house in Philly.

PSD sent me an awesome "film" in the mail once. It was a little tough to explain the source to my wife.
I received a similar title. I actually hid the case in my Mom's purse earlier this week while she was visiting for Christmas and then had my sister ask to borrow something out of it. Awesome reaction.

when i split up with my wife keys drove all the way in from madison and was our designated driver for the night.

on another occasion strykerpks took a cab from oak creek to meet us because he had said he would meet us out and got drunk at a party earlier that day, so he spent 40-50 bucks getting to where we were, just to keep his word. iirc he also ditched a girl that night.

I have a holiday version.

1. Jaysus helped connect me to a beer distributor to find a particular beer I wanted. I got the beer and took it to all my holiday functions.

2. Team sent me some sugar, which my lady used to bake several things and I ate them.

3. Punk sent me a cigar I'm gonna enjoy on NYE.

All these things within the last few weeks, and there have been so many more in the past. GB this place.

wait--you aren't jayrok?

Wasn't "kindness" per se, but definitely impressed when Krista sent me the money on a contract I didn't think was serious.
Woz paid my hockey dues when he lost a bet...oh wait...Oh Krista paid to keep woz around...oh wait...Hmm, I did get a great Christmas card from the handsome HoopleMalaise boys.

Finless sent me Cuban cigars. When I needed an extra person to round out a foursome for free golf, free lunch, free drinks and free dinner, proninja graciously showed up, shot a decent round and helped us get drunk.
I'm giving like that. :thumbup:rover's like my ffa sugar daddy. I'm not sure if I should start with the aforementioned round of golf, the sonics tickets, or the loan referrals. Finless sent me a few badass Cuban cigars, matsuki sent me 3 bottles of wine, and there's a few FBG's who have let me finance their homes. Back in the day at the Huddle, there's a poster who goes by Muck. When I was shopping for an engagement ring, he hooked me up with a jewler in Texas who sent me a diamond, told me if I liked it to send a check, if I didn't to return it. Got a great deal, and a bigger stone than I would have otherwise been able to afford.
the rumor is that all the sonics tickets so far this season have gone to waste.

How does one get in on the Seattle area free cigars and Sonic ticket ring?

pretty much starts with buying me beer.

Big Papi paid for my Buy in at our Poker game after our fantasy draft. I came in second and I still haven't paid him back, or did I?

I'll get you back good buddy!

Keerock uses the draft dominator at our draft every year. He donates. He is selfless like that. :blackdot:

I've found bourbon to be more effective.

Zilla is one of the best guys I've ever met from the boards. Loaned me money at an Indian Casino when my bank card hit it's cap, sent me about 8 CDs of great music and has been a good buddy throughout the years.Jeeplvr and Scupper also lent me money, no questions asked. Scupper has been notoriously generous and a great host.A poster named Blake burned every single Chris Isaak CD he owned and sent them to me for free. Never asked for anything in return.Sweeper sent me a little care package in the mail. You da man Sweeper! :sadbanana: Jefferson The Caregiver crossed the iBuddy/real Buddy threshold years ago, but his support and ears over the last few difficult months of my life will never be forgotten. A true friend.Ditkaless Wonders has given me priceless legal and real world advice for a few years now and always checks back in to see how I'm doing. I owe him a great deal of gratitude.Harry Beanbag continues to be a driving force behind forrestmail. He's the guy behind the guy.Ninja's been a big help on all things mortgage related, especiall of late in a really tough transition time for the family. The good people of LABS let me be long winded and honest without ever judging or betraying the trust. That's been so cathartic for me lately, you have no idea.I've had countless PMs of encouragement and support. I value them all. Some good people up in here and I thank you all.

I just thought I'd also give big ups to our dearly departed FBG, Sandeman, for putting me up at his place in Austria and sending me some Phish and Dead CDs while I was in Spain.

Sadly, I got a nice bout of food poisoning the night I was over at his place. I narrowly escaped spending days on the lone toilet in his apartment, and instead spent them on a toilet in a hostel in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Sande, if you ever read this, I'd like to repeat the experience at your new place in teh East Bay soon. Cheers!

That's true. SLBD packed some sticky icky before the CU - CSU game a couple years back. I think we won but things area a bit fuzzy from that day.

Keerock has scored me some great Tiger tix. Scupper has given me some solid investment ideas. Jzilla is always there for me and cdgrjoe always makes me feel safe when I sail. I'll go with Keerock.
