Agreed. The great lakes region is going to become the most ideal location in the country in short time. That shift in weather was part of the reason we came here. My hunch is winters up here, while still hard, will mellow some over the next 25 years.Luckily that hasn’t quite hit Michigan. Our summers are hotter than before and it gets hot earlier but we are 78 today. Very nice.Yeah, it’s been getting worse over the last ten years. The climate up here suits us much better. We love winter and the snow. We can get out in it and actually do stuff.Ugh even still now? I’ve heard KC/St Louis is brutal in the summer.I should have moved here 20 years ago. 94 degrees in KC right now.How does northern WI compare to KC?
**** that.
We also have access to fresh water here via a spring that runs across the front of my property, and we have the ability to grow my own food. And we can always find fish. Thinking long term in case my kids need a relatively safe space to get to if necessary.
Plus it’s so damn quiet here and I can see the stars. No light pollution where I am. We are very blessed to be here.

Whoa. We can hold our own up here! Why do other parts of Wisconsin have higher drunkenness rates than where you are?
See the post right after yoursWhy are approximately 32.3% of Wisconsin adults obese? Nearly 1/3 of the population.

Any toppings, herbs, cheese, or just butter?Just pulled corn right off the stalk and will be ready to eat 6 minutes from when the water boils. This corn is like candy.

So, when we moved here this place we found has several outbuildings.the what now?Watching GA v Tenn on the TV in the cokk shack
A little less than an hour. That’s a cool town. The Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame is there at the town rink. The building is amazing - an old wooden building with the exposed rafters and structure. Its one of the coolest hockey rinks I’ve even seen. How far are you from Eagle River - went to summer camp up there when I was a kid (and lived in Milwaukee).
No. We are not really movie watchers. My wife and I both love watching sports.Do you have Netflix?
wait a second....Have a nice smooth indica going on.how's the smoke?
We are not. When we moved here our goal was lakefront or land. Are you on a water property? That was part of the hunt, right?
No way.Have you ever yelled "HELLO WISCONSON!"?
i'm so happy that you found happiness in the northwoods, gbWe are not. When we moved here our goal was lakefront or land. Are you on a water property? That was part of the hunt, right?
Affordable waterfront here is tough to find. We got really lucky with the place we got. It’s in a spot where property like ours hardly ever goes up for sale.
If we wanted waterfront we would have to do a ton of work for what we could afford. And we needed a livable house moving from another state.
And honestly now that we have been here, I would take what we have. We have 7 houses on our road and half of them are never around. If I was on a lake I would be dealing with close neighbors all the time.
I can be in world class muskie, walleye, and smallie waters in less than 15 minutes.
Or mispronounced it Wesconsin? No way.Have you ever yelled "HELLO WISCONSON!"?
Every year about 3 days in early fall. Always made me wonder how they manage to get inside the house. The ladybugs…..errrr…….Japanese beetles apparently hatched today. Hundreds of them. Maybe thousands hanging out on the siding of the house and shops.
We just came back from OH and grabbed some sweet corn. Apparently SC doesn't know how to grow it here because in about 19 years of living here I've never had any that was any good. Anyhow, made some Mexican street corn with the last 4 ears Saturday and frankly, it would almost be worth moving back for. It was that good.Butter and salt.Any toppings, herbs, cheese, or just butter?Just pulled corn right off the stalk and will be ready to eat 6 minutes from when the water boils. BearsWho is your NFL team?Lovin' it down here in SE wisconsin, heading out in a couple hours with the wife for a few beers with friends. Then off to one of the largest tourist traps in the area for Bloodys and cheese and NFL football with wife and friends. CHEERS.

Ice fishing, hiking, build huge bonfires in the front yard. What do you do during the 5-6 month winter?
Yeah, love it up here.1 are you enjoying it here in the big whisky or what 2 is your son still making those awesome lures take that to the bank brochachos
Not yet. That's aboot 2.5 hrs from us.have you been here yet: https://www.freshwater-fishing.org/
I'll throw fat biking in for a winter activity. I'm not sure about your immediate area, but if they've got any groomed trails it's a blast. Birkebeiner trails in Cable are awesome for cross-country skiing too and probably also have fat bike trails. Make it up the the UP and you've got endless winter fun. We've got some decent downhill skiing for the Midwest aswell. The key to the great white winters is finding a way to love it (or atleast tolerate it). Sounds like you've got it figured out, but don't sleep of those activities either, great way to get out and enjoy winter.Ice fishing, hiking, build huge bonfires in the front yard. What do you do during the 5-6 month winter?
We are going to get snowshoes this year. We just make a point to get outside as much as possible and enjoy the winter.
I think the entire state of Wisconsin does. I have property near there and they have a dispensary every block just for our neighbors to the south.Do you go to Menominee for cannabis?

Son is not making the lures at the moment. He’s been working as an electrician apprentice so he’’s trying to get that going during his last year of high school. He worked with a guy in the summer and he gets out of school by 11:00 so he can work.
No. I am immune. They put me on the list to not get bothered when I signed my house paperwork.have you seen any hodag yet or what take that to the bank brorhinehan
