Sleeper keepers? (1 Viewer)

I'm in a keeper league (keep up to 3 players) and this is the last week any player we pick up can be designated a keeper next season. I'm thinking there must be a backup RB that will emerge as the starter next season, or a #2 WR on a team where the #1 guy will likely go somewhere else. Any thoughts?

Depends on how large you league is and roster space.

Names that come to mind are:

Caddy Williams - recovery looks complete to me!

Justin Fargas - w/DMac & M Bush, Fargas is odd man out

Leon Washinton - how old is T Jones? He sure does not show it this year!

Derrick Ward - If NYG don't give Jacobs his $$, Ward's value skyrockets.

Ryan Torain - get him healthy and see what he can do

Matt Cassel - if he goes to Philly when McNabb goes to Min

In very deep leagues: Danny WareAssuming that the Giants don't re-sign Ward and Jacobs, FWIW I expect the Giants to re-sign Jacobs over Ward if the money is reasonable (see below), Ware could slip into that 2nd RB role with Bradshaw.

He looked great in the pre-season and the Giants like him enough to protect him on their 53 man roster even with three RBs in front of him. Also of note, the Giants have scouted RB talent quite well as of late, grabbing talent late in the draft and from the UFA pool; Jacobs (4th rounder), Ward (practice squad signing from Jets as a 7th rounder), Bradshaw (7th rounder), Grant (UFA) and now Ware (practice squad signing from Jets as a 7UFA)

Ware's size and good combination of power, vision and speed remind me a bit of younger version of Ward so I'd expect the Giants to let Ward walk and resign Jacobs for they can keep a good complementary back system working with Jacobs, Ware and Bradshaw.

Edit to add: I just re-read the OP posting and it's asking about a three player keeper league so Ware probably doesn't apply but it's good conversation if this thread can turn into a "keeper/dynasty sleeper thread" instead of just a "Who should 'madcityscott' try to acquire to keep for next year."

I'm really anxious to see what the Giants do in the offseason with Ward and Jacobs. I own Ward in a keeper league, and I'm hoping either:

A. The Giants don't re-sign Jacobs and Ward takes over as the primary

or

B. The Giants do re-sign Jacobs and Ward gets starter money from someone else
