Steve Breaston - 5th rounder from Michigan

3 targets, 2-24 rec last week.

Sean Morey - 4th year player.

9 targets last 2 weeks, 6-108 those two games including a big catch in Week 12 (in OT) vs. SF (62 yards, hauled down by Patrick Willis IIRC).

also watch for Jerheme Urban, who hasn't been heard from in weeks.

TEs should also be on the radar, starting with Leonard Pope.

Ben Patrick got one look last week and could contribute.

I expect that if Fitz and Boldin are out that BJohnson starts along with Morey. Pope will be the #3 target.

Boldin was pretty much taken out of the game without Fitz in there to draw some coverage. I dunno how well the scrubs will do against a pretty good Seattle D that's completely healthy in the secondary at the very loud Qwest field.

Warner is going to throw the ball to SOMEBODY, and trying to figure out who that might be could help some people out.Hopefully we can discuss Breaston and Morey and Pope or anyone else (like Ben Patrick) who caught our eye earlier this season.

Boy if Morey is starting for AZ they are in trouble. He has been a career special-teamer with very limited work as a receiver.

:goodposting: Bryant Johnson = over hyped week 14 waiver wire dud.

Week 14 might not be the week, but AZ plays NO then ATL in 15 and 16. Fitz may still be limited because of his groin, and Boldin may not even play the next couple/few weeks. He's been pretty limited because of his hip, anyway. SOMEBODY is going to be catching passes from Warner, and I think Johnson has a shot at getting significant attention.

Urban has been out with a heel injury the last 2-3 weeks - has not practiced during that time. Before that, he'd dropped a number of balls and it seems he's lost the confidence of Warner as Kurt quit throwing his way. He's (somewhat surprisingly) still shown ahead of Morey on the depth chart, tho, and remember that he did play in Seattle before being cut a couple of years ago.

Things haven't been the same for Breaston since he was on the cover of SI when he was at Michigan.

He caught the attention of Bloom and me and the Shrine Game. He is a very fiesty player that is more quick than fast. I would compare him to a poor mans Kevin Curtis. He is not the route runner that Curtis is, and is still somewhat raw as a prospect. Good return guy as well.

By no means endorsing him as a sleeper start.....but Morey will be the second best WR option for the Cards behind BJ this week if Fitz/Boldin are out.

I can't see starting one of these guys AND having made the playoffs. Kudos to someone that did but if you need Morey this week, what's that say about your WRs?

With Walker doing nothing, Calvin struggling and Reggie Brown being Reggie Brown, my only reliable option is Andre Johnson. Kurt Warner has to throw the ball to SOMEBODY. Since we get points for kick/punt return yardage, I'm seriously considering picking up Breaston and playing him. I won my division.

Oh yeah? Hmm OK makes sensethanks for clarifying

Latest reports down here are that Fitzgerald is moving around better and getting a little practice.

Boldin did not practice - he is wearing a boot to protect the toe and while the guy is tough and wants to play, it seems unlikely.

Obviously Johnson is the guy who starts opposite Fitzgerald.

I think the guy available who would have more value is Morey, who has been working with the receivers for several weeks.

Urban is a guy who had some rapport with Warner before his injury - I just don't know if he has gotten enough snaps with the first team to regain that.

I am hoping Breaston gets some love while the studs are out. Our league also scores return yardage, so he could be huge in that format-for example, Nate Burleson in Sea has been top 10 this year(on my roster :bag: ). Breaston with receving yardage could replace Steve Smith as my WR4.
