John Smoltz was scratched from his scheduled start Friday because of tightness in his right shoulder.

Smoltz also gave up five runs in the final inning of his spring debut last week, but the Braves have yet to reveal further details about his status



I have avoided the injury plague of top pitchers going down until now....

Hoping it isn't serious and just a case of old man river taking a little while to get going........ PLEASE!

I'm not worried.

I'd expect Smoltz to either start throwing lefty or with his feet to start the season.
