Sneaky play (1 Viewer)

Consider these points:

Benson is clearly the primary ball carrier in Cinci
His producton in the past 3 weeks has been poor due to his opposition being tight vs the run - PHI (7th), PIT (3rd), BAL (1st)
The last time he went up against an average run defense he broke 100 yds w/ a TD - JAX (21st) 4 weeks ago
Benson's week 14 game is against IND (26th) and getting worse
As reported in Rotoworld: Colts middle linebacker Gary Brackett (leg) being sidelined for a month turns their run defense from bad to downright awful.I see Cedric perrforming well this week. He'll be starting on my team while Jamal Lewis, D. Ward and Fargas sit.

Anyone agree with me?

...maybe. He's basically had one good game, so while you make some good points, I'd be a bit leery of starting him until I see a bit more. That said, I do think he has potential, though after being embarassed on offense last weekend Indy may put up a lot of points and Cincy could be playing catchup.

I don't think the word you want is sneaky but the word does start with an S.

Cincy surely will be playing from behind and I think Perrywould actually benefit more than Benson in that case

Mark Curnutte, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Chris Perry (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 3. His status for Week 14 is uncertain.

That coupled with the fact that Perry hasn't had more than 3 touches since week 6 makes your point... well... misguided. By no means am I guaranteeing solid production from Benson - I'm just saying that his potential for this week may be overlooked by some.

This point might overstate things a bit. I know they'll miss Brackett, but it's been proven that no Bob Sanders means their rush defense suffers greatly. Sanders is supposed to play this week (not a sure thing, though), so you should consider that when making this decision.

This was his only good game this season. It was his 2nd start. His first start in the prior week against the lowly HOU defense had him with 13 carries for 49 yds and 20 yds receiving.I admit that you could be right that Benson has a decent game this week. I just think it is a bit of wishful thinking. He has only scored 1 TD this season in 6 starts. The two main questions with Benson this week are: (1) will he get enough carries (i.e. will the Colts go up too big and limit his rush attempts)? and (2) what are the odds he gets in the end zone. The odds are definitely against him scoring a TD, but these things are often hard to predict.

Maybe not this week because Cincy will lose by 25 points.. but he has a chance to be gold in Week 16 in Cleveland. They will actually be in that game.

If you're starting Benson, you're likely in the toilet bowl or have little chance of winning. Good luck.
No toilet bowl - just squeaked into the playoffs. The rest of my lineup positions are solid; I've just had hard luck at the RB position<--- LT owner.

The Colts haven't gone up big on anybody at all this season. If the Browns can keep them in check, I think the Bengals D can do it as well.

I like Benson this week...

I agree.It looks like I will be starting him as my #3 RB. I'm hoping for 75+yds rushing, 3rec 30yds, and a 50% chance of a TD.

As a Colts fan, I have to agree (unfortunately).I doubt the Colts get up by more than 10 at any point in the game, so Benson should get some opportunities at success.
