"Sneaky Plays" this week (1 Viewer)

My pick is Desmond Clark(TE)CHI.

- His projections were pretty conservative because Olsen was supposed to cut into his production but now Olsen is unlikely to play.

- SD lost Edwards their best coverage LB. Not to worry Wilhelm was supposed to step in and replace him(which would have been a downgrade in the first place) but even he has been bothered by a strained calf for a long time now. I've seen Cooper in coverage and haven't been impressed... other than that SD doesn't have a single LB on the roster that's much of a coverage option(Merriman/Phillips/Dobbins/Harris).

- SD has traditionally had a very sound run defense and that would point towards CHI having to try to win the game in the air.

- SD's new defense is supposed to be just as aggressive as in the past few seasons with the possibility of bringing S's and CB's this year.... which would lead to shorter completions on CHI's part and they lost Thomas Jones their best receiving option out of the backfield.

Desmond Clark ranked #18 by the experts but I'll bet he's a top 10 TE this week. Maybe even top 5.

That was mine.... let's hear yours. I like the Jake Delhomme thread and didn't want to hijack it. Nice work Louisville Slugger.

I'm thinking I should have taken the risk and played Indy's defense instead of Miami's but maybe it will end up a wash. Sneaky play for me this week would be VJackson or Curry instead of Driver but can't bring myself to do it.

Any reasons behind any of these picks for THIS week more so than most(particularly Matt Jones)?

I actually benched Portis in favor of Fred Taylor this week...

Let's just see if it bites me in the you-know-what...

Too late to change it? lolI think Portis re-establishes himself as a superstar this year, but can definitely understand waiting to see how the situation is played in WAS.

I like Kevin Curtis to start the season off with a good game. I think he wil be targetted a decent amount of times and McNabb has looked great.

I think one of the Vikings wide receiver either Wade or Williamson could have a big game. The Falcons cornerbacks are horrible.

As others and I have stated in the other thread, James Jones is a sneaky play because Jennings is out and Jones is starting. I'm starting him in 2 of 6 leagues as my WR #3.

Good call on Michael Bennett, although who would start him? LaMont Jordan is a sneaky play, as is Jamal Lewis. I also like Michael Jenkins today too.

I don't think they are very sneaky after this week of hype, but I think they will do better today then their average for the year. I actually started both of them in flex spots in two leagues:

Brandon Jacobs and Patrick Crayton (over Adrian Peterson and Wes Welker).

Crayton/Welker are my flex players b/c of return yardage. These next two games, wioth Newman hurting and Crayton returning punts, I think he makes a sneaky play in this return yardage + PPR league. Normally, Welker will be gold from my flex spot (guy was a top-20 player for most of last year in this league due to the return numbers and the PPR factor).
