Just look at what happened to Mike Williams last year. He got hurt and then got released and did not see the final year of his contract. The injury definitely cost him money this year and beyond.

Then look at what happened to Aiyuk this year... he forced the 49ers into a big dollar extension before he blew out his knee.

Pretty sure Chase and his advisors are well aware of these events and others, as well as the risk he takes every game he steps on the field.
