Playoffs start a week early :goodposting:

Most football fans want to puke over the thought that one of these teams will host a playoff game. If it happens to be a 7-9 team, I think heads will explode.

Exactly...I can't believe NBC is pumping this game as much as they are (I know the winner gets in, I get that) but, there's gotta be a better game somewhere other than these two teams on primetime, way to waste a good primetime slot on a crap matchup. Even the Browns and Steelers would pull better ratings I'm sure...

Eagles Cowboys? I am an Eagles homer, but still, how is that not an exciting game? The hatred between those teams runs deep. Fun game to watch, even if it's not a play-in game.

Name any other game they could have chosen and I'll show you why it would have been a bad idea. If Browns - Steelers was the SNF game, and the Ravens had lost earlier in the day, the game would have been meaningless for the Steelers, they would have rested their starters, and the game would have been a dud. Don't tell me you want to see a montrosity like this again. That's why a "winner in, loser out" game where both teams are guaranteed to have something to play for will always take precedent over anything else for the penultimate Week 17 matchup.stealth edit: Wow, only 5 players caught passes in that game I linked above.

I'm happy for Seahawks and Rams fans who are excited about this game. But let's just say it.

This is nothing more than the Tuesday night "play-in" game to see who gets destroyed by Duke in the first round of March Madness on Thursday.

Haha, agree. Re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is all this game amounts to.

And the 9-7 Cardinals had no chance to go anywhere two years ago, right? You just saw the Vikings dismantle Vick and the Eagles. The Saints absolutely could lose in St. Louis if Bradford manages the game well and Jackson plays like a guy who never thought he'd have a shot at the post-season this year. Keep the Saints off the field and it's anybody's game.

I wouldn't give this game to the Ram's just yet. Seattle is a below average squad but the place will be loud and Bradford is a rookie. The Ram's are not exactly loaded with talent either.

At this point I would much rather see the Rams vs Seahawks than this game. I agree this is an entertaining game to watch but it has essentially no meaning now. Week 17 only makes sense to put the games in prime time that are guaranteed to have meaning.
