I'm impressed by the video, and will be adding this to my rig cuz I hate getting clogged. But if such a simple mod is so effective why aren't the mfg. doing it?![]()
I posted earlier in this thread about my hack-job snow blower - I made a DIY impeller kit with some baler belt from Tractor Supply and some screws. Probably cost me $20 and an hour of my time, and it without a doubt made my blower go from good to awesome. I don't have a video, but I have a photo my wife took of me clearing the driveway after the NJ blizzard this year. Blower has to be shooting snow 15-20 feet.
yes...they exist, and I've spent some time there) it's all about tolerances. The only manufacturer who makes their impellers with tolerances close enough to the housing to handle slush is Honda. Most other brands have 1/4" gap between the housing and the impeller. What happens with slush and heavy snow is that it builds up along the outside of the housing and the spinning snow sticks to it and clumps.
