So hungover this morning I accidently wore two different shoes (1 Viewer)

hey rnrer i tried to give you some solid panera based advice i would appreciate it if you let me know if you tried it out and if it worked thanks brohan and as always please take that to the bank

I must have missed people bashing her.  If they have you're right.  The only thing I read is advice to try to keep an open mind for now instead of rushing in to become a dad before you get to know her better.

The best thing you, or any of us can do in most situations is have doubt for a while before making a big decision.  The doubt makes you think and can lead to better decisions before they're made.  Better to doubt before than after.

I don't really care about the likes but it's the easiest, simplest, way to show you actually read something.
I have read this post.

Everyone knows that the 6th of July is the big fireworks day, chief.

Only suckers watch the garbage they pass off on the 4th.
The Declaration was signed on the 4th, but in those days it was a two day trip to the notary before the document could be legalized.  Take that document to the notary, bromigo.

Haven't read the thread, followed along, or anything else.

Personally, I've been happy to know that RNR is in here and nowhere else, but the thread title grabbed my attention. I tried to go back and read a little, but came to my senses. So with little information I have, I'll offer universal advice:

I think RNR is highly qualified to take on the responsibility of a father figure - it is the easiest thing I've ever done, sorta like riding a bike... hop on, peddle, and keep going, it is that simple. You are a great person for getting involved and saving this single mother and her child - I'd recommend (being that you've probably dated her for all of 8 days, if this is even real) taking the kid to Disney, don't even take the mom, it'll be a bonding opportunity for you and the little one, you're a role model and this is brilliant. If it doesn't work out (these things usually do, so not much worry there), with enough bonding, maybe you can challenge her for custody.

Based on our discussions she wouldn't have been right for me the way she was 2 years ago.

Shes learning about life too. I'm 33 now but I never grew up after 15. This might be good for everyone. Im not diving in blindly, I'm going in fresh.

i do appreciate the constructive advice I just can't always express that individually due to time.
But you appear to have plenty of time to respond when you irrationally disagree with advice.

It just comes across as so disingenuous.

I am thinking about the baby mostly. I've talked with her about him and me more than me or her. I had a terrible childhood and father. I'm terrified of him but only because I'm stressing over their feelings beyond my own. I feel like I have to be perfect. She tells me constantly that I don't have to be perfect.

I can't just run away now because I'm scared.
Nobody is telling you to run away. Most everybody is telling you to take things very slowly and wait to meet the kid for a variety of good reasons.

Wait, What? There were no fireworks on the 4th of July? Did you try looking up?
It was raining in my part of the country, so the city decided to celebrate independence the next day.  Considering the Declaration was voted for on the 2nd and not signed till August, I doubt many patriots are rolling over in their graves.

The idea that a little rain is enough to deter modern America's sense of fun, though...that might be worth some handwringing about...

And why should we listen to you?  You don't even have 1,000 likes.  And that #### matters around here, contrary to what some will have you believe....

Nope. No rain in Dallas last night

Don't young women in this day and age use some sort of on-line service to run background checks on their prospective dates?  I wonder if this young lady has done so, and if so what that revealed.  I know this, when I was in my dating years the majority of a woman's information about me had to come from me or a few mutual, and hopefully supportive, friends.  I would not like the current possibilities, though I do not live my life on-line to the extent of the younger  generation seems to.  I bet that, in and of itself, would now be red flag.

"I don't know, I tried to check him out but he seems to have almost no presence on-line".

"Girl you should run.  That boy is some sort of antisocial freak."

since rnr is not answering about my panera based relationship advice i will open it up and allow anyone to use my formula and i would appreciate it if anyone who does use it gives us an update about how far there dates socks flew off when they tried bread bowl macncheese take that to the bank bromigos

My wife more or less insists that I do not date so I cannot follow your sage advice in that regard.  Nevertheless when my betters offer counsel I follow it as best as I might.  I will have your mac n' cheese bread bowl myself and report back, including whether it gave me chubby, and whether any young lasses in the establishment eyed my bowl up with longing.

Are you quite certain the establishment serves mac n' cheese and bread bowls?  I am not familiar with their menu.

oh yeah they have it bromigo you just have to ask for it special like that they do not normally give you the macn in a bread bowl that is what will make the ladies know that you are a deep thinker take that to the bank brochacho

My lady is coming over tonight and wants me to cook her Italian because I talk so much about it. I don't have time to do a huge pot of gravy with 4-5 different meats so I'm just going to do a simple meat sauce with rigatoni and ricotta.

I called up all the wine shops in my area and none carry my favorite wine Bolla Valpolicella

Seems like none of the shops even have  Valopolicella or have ever heard of it. I guess it's not so shocking down here in Elvis country. Any wineguys that can recommend a comparable replacement?

Get a Chianti Classico. Look for a black rooster on the label on the neck.

Usually can't go wrong with that, imo.

if only there was a website where u could type in the wine name, get results about where you can buy it or suitable alternatives. some day, Internet, some day.

don't give the kid any of the pasta if there is booze in the sauce. mom might be breastfeeding too.

Elvis country?

Graceland is in Texas? I always think of the Cowboys cheerleaders, the oil business and cowboys on horses when I think of Dallas.

Went to the liquor depot I usually go to. Didn't carry any of the wines mentioned here. No black rooster at all and the only Bamfi they had were whites. They didn't even have Bolla Valpolicella in stock so I went with Bolla Chianti since I know they make quaility wines.

Im going to look for the ones you guys recommended when I have more time to scout around.

Thanks for the recommendations for next time.

I'd suggest opening it like and hour before to let it breathe a little. It's a good excuse to have one less thing to fumble around with on the date.

in future, try pinot noirs, which are done as well in Italy as France. i remember the Bolla Valpos, which were a go-to b4 everybody knew too much. you probably liked em because its lower in tannins than Italian wines that come from the sangiovese grapes (Chianti etc). pinots have a rounder taste without the bitter finish that most actually look for in Italian reds.

do you know how to make risotto? when i got older & started to not look so great and huff&puff a li'l, i switched from dancing to cooking as my move. Nothing impresses a female who doesnt cook much like watching a good risotto cook nurse and gently stir a risotto with care until it gives up its starch and gets all creamy, know'm'sayin'?!

I'll learn how to make it next time

Make a nice tortoni for dessert.  If you have not the time or the expertise fake it by mixing some frozen  fruit punch concentrate into some vanilla ice cream, pouring into cupcake size graham cracker shells sold in the baking aisle, and then refreeze.  (A little of that concentrate goes a long way. you can also do the same with a bit of amarreto, some maraschino cherry juice and a few cut up maraschino cherries, again, a little goes a long way. Like 5% flavoring to 95% vanilla ice cream.)

Tastes great, looks festive, anyone can do it.

My go-to - a quick version of cherries jubilee.

Buy the cans of dark sweet pitted cherries in heavy syrup.  deglaze a pan with brandy, pour the juice and cherries into the pan, then flambe with brandy.  Reduce, let cool a bit, and pour over vanilla ice cream.  Super easy, fast, tasty, and people go nuts for it.
