So hungover this morning I accidently wore two different shoes (1 Viewer)

Honestly the thread reads like a reflection of society at large.  Perhaps an extreme case but the poor, short term decision making, the need for attention, the variance between being overly intelligent in theory vs being really stupid in reality, the problems with the ghetto dude, the "ability" to drive but not walk the length of a football field, the desire to take care of a kid who isn't his... RnR is this generation's Forest Gump.
I was in agreement until the last part.   Gump accomplished great things.  He graduated college after playing D1 ball.  He served in the military and rescued many of his fallen brothers.  He became a ping pong champion.  He started his own business and became incredibly wealthy.  He saved one of his best friends from depression.  He became a great father.  He was a loving son.  What has RnR done?

All good movies have a forlorn period.

I am going to take that to the bank and take out enough money to have a great lunch at Panera.

How am I not functioning?
You're clearly a functioning alcoholic, but that doesn't mean you don't need to kick the habit.  A good first step short of getting professional assistance is to decrease idle time/boredom.  Have you heard from "Single Mom" lately?

Huh?

Gump accomplished an absolute ton, despite having a well below average IQ.  He also had no punishing addictions, wasn't lazy, and didn't complain about ####.

RnR apparently has a ridiculously high IQ, hasn't accomplished anything, has punishing addictions, and very likely has anti-social personality disorder.

He's the very opposite of Forrest Gump.

Gump could also run pretty well.  R&R can't even walk to the store...  Lieutenant Dan would have kicked R&R's butt (pre-injury of course)

Of course, Gump grew up when men were men. RnR is a millennial, maturity wise anyway.

So am I and generational comparisons generally result from a biased and myopic understanding of history and the human condition.

Do you approach each day being receptive to love? Do you remove all things that create barriers to love? Do you give what you hope to receive?

It's not terribly difficult to find what you are looking for. All too often we create obstacles (often times subconsciously) that keep us from being happy. Identify your obstacles and work to remove them. If you can't identify them yourself, seek help from a professional or trusted friend.

Are you asking about love in general or the specific kind I'm looking for?

I don't think things are going to work out with single mom. The boning just didn't do it for me and things have sort of fizzled.

My ex from NY asked me to marry her and move to England with her but I'm not too keen on that.

ive got my eye on a Latina I work with. 23 but just got out of a long relationship. What's the play here when trying to date a coworker?

Ready to become DAD a week ago, to it's not going to work out?

Marry the Ex and now dipping your pen in the company ink.

Dude - you just need to get you #### together and skip the relationship/love angle.  Bone as much as you can.  The relationship will find you.

As for the drinking....I'm going to make an effort to reel things in starting tomorrow. Just got home and I'm off tomorrow after working 6 days in a row. 3 of them doubled. I'm getting smashed today, sleep it off tomorrow and see how I handle a day of somewhat clean living.

I'm still interested in being a father.

Dont restaurant employees hook up on the reg?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Anyone who thought RnR was going to listen or head any advice should now completely understand the schtick he's running at this point now.

Advice from an "old" man with one in college and 1 in HS.  Don't rush being a father.  Most importantly, get yourself in a good place and find someone equally in a good place.  Then worry about being a father.  Still in your early 30's, don't rush things.

Never worked in the restaurant industry, but I'm sure they hook up regularly.  Just like in any workplace, maybe more so because more are younger and single.  You've already got a beef with a co-worker.  Nothing worse than you not "feeling" the 23 YO latina and she's all into the football safety.  You think crazy ghetto, gun bearing dude is causing issues?  She'll be that x10.

You need this job more than some strange at the moment.  You can find crazy biatches outside the workplace.

I'm kind of annoyed with women and disappointment lately. Big part of me just feels like not even dating right now.

Why would you assume the girl at my job is crazy?

I did when I worked in restaurants.  It's pretty commonplace, especially when compared to other industries.  I don't know if your place is corporate owned or anything, you might have to sign some sort of disclosure if so.  And, you know, if this girl wants to hook up with you.  No harm in flirting and feeling her out.

You're clearly not ready to make changes.  I guess some people really do need to hit rock bottom.

Man, you guys had such a deep and special connection too.  You could just tell.  At least from what you told everyone.

Only time I hit rock bottom was when I was smoking crack. This is one of my heavier drinking rips but not my first. I'm starting to feel like it's time for a change though.

To all the guys telling Rok not to shoplift the potty off a single mom and jump right into being a "dad":

bet you feel pretty stupid now, huh? HOW DOES THAT CROW TASTE!?!?!?!?!?

oh, wait, mm.

I just want the love of a beautiful woman and to settle down.
Are you looking for a woman that's an alcoholic?  Does crack?  Drinks and drives? Is unemployed? Is built like an NFL safety?

Define what you're looking for and try to give her the same. It will help you straighten your own life out in the process.

umm, if you just plan to hit it and quit it, maybe you could just stick to the single ladies and leave the single Moms alone. for the sake of their kids anyway.

That wasn't my plan.

She had an odor problem pal. I talked to her about possibly having a yeast infection. She went to her gyno and nothing was wrong. So now I'm scared she will always smell bad.
