here's something other than booze and drugs, something you could try, try following some of the advice in this thread.  You have tried your cycle 100's of times.  It has always lead to a result you do not like.  Try a different path.  Yours is worn, boring, and non-productive.  You say you have mental resources, you demonstrate anger which means you have emotional resources and energy, use them to make a real concerted effort on another path, or don't, I no longer care though I believe others still do.

Fully agree. Jason has co-dependency issues as well. He's not whole unless there is a woman in his life. He's only willing to try and take care of his addictions and seek meds when there is a woman on the horizon. This probably goes back to his mother not being there and leaving him to care for his sister. He's seeking love that he never had like it's his lifeline. Unless he makes drastic changes and really tries to help himself, I fear you are correct that he's on his way to going up in flames.

Really think about this, Jason. As you get older it gets harder. You are young and it's much easier to fix your life now than it is when you get older. You have us as a support. We'll help you.
