Solved: Last resort: help find a replacement for my 6 year old's stuffed animal (2 Viewers)

Odd request, but someone may have an idea that I am not thinking of.

My 6 year-old daughter left her favorite stuffed animal (the one she cuddles with every night) at a hotel. Housekeeping couldn't find it. My wife knows it was in the room. We filled out a lost & found form. But considering housekeeping didn't find it, I am skeptical. Lots of tears already.

This is what it is: https://images.app.goo.gl/SzJUDAu38neSYLz79

It came from Party City, which is now out of business.

I can't seem to find the same one anywhere else (eBay, Amazon, etc.).

Anyone have any other ideas on where to hunt?

Thanks in advance.

Parent hack*: Buy at least two of your child's favorite stuffed animal, security blanket, etc.

My wife actually did try at some point months ago to buy a 2nd but that same party city didn't have any more. And that was that...

This is it. The site seems to be sketchy though. The privacy policy and other pages like that have some shady Gmail address. Odd.

yeah, I was worried about that, maybe don't use it then but ya know, trying to help.

Really appreciate it. Hoping that you just happened to know them.

I agree, but for each of our kids it was a random one they grabbed on to. My son had 4-5 that we got him, and of course what he loved was some random multicolored duck we got at Burlington Coat Factory because we thought it was cute. That was a nightmare trying to find months later after that was the one he loved of the pack, and he knew right away it wasn't the OG. For my daughter, it was a blue bunny that she got on her 1st birthday. Those were easier to locate, but we have had to order some from the UK for those. We lied and told her bunny needed a special "bath" that of course takes the whole night while she sleeps, makes him just like brand new, and even regenerates his tag. At one point we couldn't find a blue one, but she was more than happy that we could find a special shampoo that turned him pink for her. I have a graveyard of those things in my drawer that I have saved to give her later. Not the one the fell in the toilet, though...

I had a Shoneys Bear when I was a little kid. I once left it in a hotel in San Antonio. My parents drove an hour back so we could get it.

Party City is still a thing here (Canada), I can check the local store but it doesn't show online for Canada, so I wouldn't count on it being there.
Had no idea that all of them didn't close. I am very doubtful that they'll have it still based on the site, but if you happen to be driving past it and pop in that would be amazing.

Almost certainly a scam site. If you try it, use Amex. They'll refund you if it turns out to be a scam.

I gave it my best, but eventually hit a brick wall. I think it’s great that you asked the board though. Peoples’ willingness to help out with this sort of thing is a part of what makes this place so special. Good luck!

I didn't think twice about posting the request here. This population is diverse enough in where they live, what they do, what they're connected to, etc. Who knows what could have come up.

Update: we have a replacement! My wife posted a picture of it on our town's Facebook buy nothing page to see if anyone had one sitting around. Turns out a mom in our neighborhood saw it, showed her daughter who is 10 or 11, said she had it and didn't need it anymore, and dropped it off on our steps this afternoon.

My daughter is thrilled! She knows it has been washed, but isn't sure if it is the same one or different due to a missing pen mark. But thankfully she doesn't care. It's already being snuggled as she watches a little TV.

Thanks all that tried to help!

Restores my faith in the kindness of people towards strangers.
World peace wasn't found, world hunger wasn't solved, but a little girl is happy her stuffed animal was returned to her.
Sometimes you just have to start with the little things.
