Someone just traded TJ Houshmanzdeh straight up for Anthony Gonzalez? (1 Viewer)

So in my 2nd year Dynasty, we got a new owner and he traded TJ Houshmanzadeh to the Commish for Anthony Gonzalez straight up (and he isn't even a Marvin Harrison owner). According to FBG, he just traded Dynasty WR13 for WR46.

How bad is that trade? How pissed would you be if you were another dedicated owner in the league?

Should we kick the Amateur out?

I'M REFERRING TO ANTHONY GONZALEZ, WR INDY, NOT TONY G!

Unless Housh's back is worse than we know, it's a bad trade. If those bones don't heal or it get's worse then the AG owner looks like a shark. Edited to add that AG obviously would have to play a big role as WR3 in IND this year.

Brandon Stokley had 1000yds and 10 TDs in this O a couple years ago as the slot guy. could happen with Gonzalez. though it doesnt exactly seem like a fair trade on paper. the guy getting Gonzalez should have atleast gotten some draft pick compensation. but youll have to let it play out and see what happens. I traded Rudi Johnson away for LJ a couple of years ago before he was a starter, got hammered by everyone for it, and LJ gave me 20TDs after Priest went down. So you never know things can work out. be patient.

A guy in one of my dynasty leagues traded T. Bell for LJ two years ago. All said LJ will still be in a RBBC and Bell will be the next Denver RB stud. He is the one laughing now, he has won the SB back to back and LJ was a big reason why.You never know with dynasty trades.

Not enough info to even begin to comment. Who are his other WR's? It is a dynasty league. Maybe he is building for the future. Manning is superior to Palmer. Housh is 30, Gonzales is young.

Wrong Tony Gonzales perhaps?
Likely scenario. Remember the bogus trade offers for Ricky Williams (IND) a few years back? :goodposting: FYI, there's a RB on the practice squad for the Panthers named Steven Jackson. Be sure to double check any Steven Jackson trade offers.

Now lets not get crazy.Sure your post was pretty bad and in the wrong place. But there's no reason to kick you off the board as long as you learn from your mistakes.
Best laugh I've had on the board in a while...

Hmmm. What I think people are missing is that (1) it's a newby and (2) it was with the Commish. Speaking as the Commish of a large league, if I'm involved in a trade, the league gets to vote. Sounds to me like the Commish took advantage. I'd seriously look at his actions and be more angry at hom than I would be against the stupid new guy. I mean, stupidity is not against the rules, but I assume that the Commish is there to try and prevent collusion.

This is exactly my reaction. Why aren't you upset with the Commish? It could easily have been a "wrong Gonzales" mistake and the Commish know this is not an even trade. And the "wrong gonzales" aspect has got to have occurred to him.

It wasn't the wrong Gonzalez. He traded TJ Housh for Rookie pick 2.4 and picked up Anthony Gonzalez.

I hope you learned a lesson: Always be the first person to welcome a new owner to the league.

You had your chance you simply didn't realize it.

playing devil's advocate here but despite what housh is expected to do he's only had one 1,000 yard season in six years and has had trouble staying healthy.

The last 3 seasons he has averaged: 80 receptions, 1000 yards and almost 7 TD's. That is borderline WR1 and the best WR2. He just gave up for a prospect who won't pay dividends, IF ANY, for 3 years.

This is very deceptive. You said "Someone just traded TJ Houshmanzdeh straight up for Anthony Gonzalez" that did not happen. I wish I had never read this thread.

There is nothing wrong with a TJ Housh for rookie 2.4 trade. Sorry but that isn't collusion and I would actually let it pass.

Redraft: I would probably vote against. Maybe.Dynasty: No problem. If you have a dummy in your league, and fair trades are so important to you, sounds like you need to find a league with strict entrance requirements. Did you raise the question as to whether he was a qualified owner?

Sometimes, conventional wisdom doesn't prove correct.

Let the newbie learn a lesson.

And if AnthonyG beats TJHoush in points this season, buy the guy a case of the finest beer possible.

There is only one thing to say about this post:

So he's trading a guy who will be in his 7th year in the league this year, has one 1000 yard season under his belt, and has never had 10 TDs for a 1st round rookie receiver going into the best offense in football with the best QB in football who has his whole career ahead of him?

There are always two perspectives in situations like this. He might have gotten more for TJ, but personally I think he's overvalued right now and if I took over a team with him on it I'd move him too. If Gonzales was the best he could do, and he is looking to retool the team for the future, it could have been a lot worse.

Can't look strictly at rankings, particularly when FBG are sometimes pretty far behind the value curve in dynasty rankings (though they have gotten better).

You need to show this guy the door and give the commish greif for taking advantage of a rookie. This is why our league has a strict trade policy.

I'm not a huge Gonzales fan and don't have him in any leagues. But why would it be impossible for an obviously talented 1st round draft pick to accomplish something like Stokely's season a couple of years ago?In some offenses, the 3rd wide out can produce pretty significant numbers. I agree that Gonzales might never develop, but I can certainly understand why someone would feel the guy could produce LONG before 3 years from now.

Is this a joke? Its tough enough in a lot of leagues to find someone that wants to be commissioner, and you're league actually has special rules applying only them? I can't reading this correctly. You can't possibly only require a vote for trades involving the Commissioner. That's absurd.

And the commissioner isn't there to prevent collusion. The league rules (and frankly, the makeup of the league) should do that. As pointed out several times already, trades that may have looked one-sided (e.g., LJ for Rudi) work out quite differently in many instances.

This is a fair Dynasty trade and I wish I wouldn't have even picked this thread to read.

A WASTE OF TIME!

I wouldn't trade Gonzales for T.J right now!

Gonzales might just have better value by seasons end!
