Soon to be Ex-Wife...UPDATE 06/16 (1 Viewer)

If her company is selling in the next 4 months there isn't a chance I'm settling with her till after said sale.
I certainly hope courts don't look at statements like this as an attempt to improperly inflate the amount of money you get out of a divorce settlement by delaying the divorce. Or that the community of acquiets and gains isn't fixed at the time of filing. :crosses fingers:
The grants were already given. The value is unknown. He's entitled to half of an unknown value. This has nothing to do with inflating value.
Current value. Versus attempting to delay the divorce solely in the hopes of the stock appreciating in value due to a sale. Which of course would be impossible to show that he was doing unless he stated it in a post on the internet.
The value of the company could go down over the next four months too. The issue is the person in this scenario with the most knowledge of the value has stated it is "unknown". A sale at market value puts a dollar figure on those grants that can no longer be disputed. Maybe next time just don't post instead of trying to show how oh so smart you are and looking stupid?

The IRS definitely doesn't and I doubt the SEC would have any kind of public info available, but you could check.

The stock price for a private company is tough to figure. You can either look at historical transactions, an internal valuation or a third party valuation.

Honestly, if things are amicable enough, I'd just ask her to please include something fair in there. Any discrepancy between her valuation and the true value will pale in comparison to the cost of trying to dig out a better value. If she tries to say zero, or set it at something insanely low like par value of $1, I'd complain. But otherwise, whatever she would come up with will have to be good enough.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: LOLOLOLOLOL. Right. She is going to #### you until you are crying and bleeding.
Its either that or you pay it out to some third party organization. And trust me, if her company doesn't want to be all that forthcoming they can influence that as well and drive down the valuation. Those kinds of things are very subjective and it could be a major point of contention in the divorce which could lead to even more legal fees.

If she's got it in for him, then he's screwed either way. Best to just save the time and money. Some battles aren't worth fighting, especially if you are probably going to lose anyway and it costs a lot just to fight it.

Not my area of law. Still, won't the court, in an unknown value environment, simply order half of the stock turned over to the O.P.? regardless of value that is an equitable split.

Took the day off to meet with my lawyer this morning (Dr appt afternoon). Reviewed draft separation agreement, and the terms are just fine with me. Court date next week. No child support, no spousal support. Final assets chopped...I'll get a little over 400k, with a little over a third going straight into IRA.

Originally we hoped to finalize in December, but since wife wasnt reporting everything, judge decided to reschedule for 2016.

Working ~38 hours a week.

Trip planned to the Keys in early May...buddy of mine is a charter captain and works the keys between March and June.

Im outta the rip tide and swimming to shore.

You should take at least a couple of grand and spend it on some really high quality whores, nothing like having your wife pay to have you nails really hot chicks.

So you're basically trying to do what we all get pissed at women for doing during divorce?

Unless she's asking for alimony, let her keep her money.
She wants to settle now. She wants to line up all assets and all liabilities and go with a 50/50 split, no alimony, no child support. I am fine with that.

She is not reporting all of the assets, so a true 50/50 split is not happening.

ETA: she has tried hiding assets before. About one and a half years ago she secured a PO Box and opened a checking account, savings account, and bank credit card without my knowledge. I learned of these accounts by accident. When I told her I knew, she promised to close the accounts...even made the promise again in a session with our marriage counselor. All three accounts are reported in the Financial Report for the court so she never closed them as per her "promise".
Who makes more money, you or her?
She does, by a long shot. I was stay at home parent with 2 kids. Currently working part time as a substitute teacher.

She makes 150K, I'm just under 20K.
So she ####ed around on you. Because you were a stay home dad for a 17 year old and a 21 year old...seems reasonable

I agree... I'd set up like $10k, book a trip to Vegas, nail a bunch of whores, do a lot of blow, and then begin my new life when I returned.

Is blow still the drug of choice when nailing whores? Not ecstasy or weed or acid?

Acid? Weed is just meh. I think molly is basically ex, but never really my thing... Blow/Viagra my favorite combo - Last December took a trip with the wife to Mexico, got some blow, drank, and when we nailed on our balcony we woke a hotel of 400 people.

I think any of the above will work although acid is the wildcard but has the potential to be the best experience. I'd lean ecstasy over blow but either works well provided you have cialis or viagra.

It was my wife, wasn't bragging about anything and just answering a question  Just saying the combo is phenomenal, not sure where you take issue with that.

Re: Viagra

To whom it may concern-

I would like to congratulate you on your creation of the drug sildenafil citrate (Viagra). Though I have only been using it for a week it has already changed my life tremendously. You see, I am an 18 year-old male who has been abusing Viagra recreationally with my girlfriend. About a month ago I bought 10 100mg tablets from an establishment in Las Vegas that sells "on line prescriptions". It was pathetically easy. On their webpage I filled out a few simple questions stating that I was a 59 year-old man suffering from impotence. I paid $140 for the pills in addition to a $65 "consulting fee". A few days later my Viagra arrived in the mail.

I originally bought it for use in conjunction with Ecstasy (MDMA), as I have found impotence to be a crippling side affect of this drug. However I wanted to first assay its effects on my otherwise sober body. I would have taken it the second it arrived in my mailbox where it not for my worthless girlfriend who had other plans. It was not until a few days later that I finally got to try it out. I had done a large amount of research on an appropriate dose. I visited various newsgroups (alt.drugs, alt.drugs.chemistry) and talked to some other people who had tried it. I concluded that a 50mg dose would not cause any sort of permanent damage. Initial trials proved this was correct. The onset of the drug was not unlike Ecstasy itself. I could actually feel the blood pouring into my groin. The sex that followed was tremendous. I noticed that it greatly increased my sensitivity, particularly in terms of 2-point discrimination on the head of my penis.

My female counterpart was also interested in trying your drug. However, previous experiments with a cocktail of experimental piperazines produced an adverse reaction in her body. I couldn't help but notice that your chemical has a piperazine ring lurking in it, so we decided not to press our luck.

Nonetheless I was excited by the success of this trial and I determined that it would be appropriate to use Viagra with MDMA. Research determined that MDMA is a CYP3A4 inhibitor and thus raises the concentration of sildenafil in the bloodstream by itself. Sources stated that cutting the dose of Viagra in half would be safe. I took 25mg 1 hour before the peak of 125mg of pure powder Ecstasy and 26mg of 2C-B (4-bromo-2,5- dimethoxyphenethylamine). I am sad to report this was not enough Viagra. In a fit of desperation I snorted the remaining 25mg of Viagra. My effort to achieve erection did not work. Though I had fun anyway, my suggestion to future abusers of this combination would be to simply take 50mg of Viagra initially.

The next day we decided to try your drug in conjunction with 5-Me0-DIPT (5- methoxy-diisopropyltryptamine), 17mg. It was a raving success. At the peak of orgasm I was overcome by the impression that I was shooting a 50-foot wide white-hot laser beam from my penis. There were strong overtones of Japanese Anime. The hallucination was quite entertaining.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for making all this reckless drug abuse possible. My girlfriend also wishes to extend her thanks for the hours of amusement your chemical has provided her. She says that the expression on my face was priceless. Your company has done a good deed. Viagra has reunited man with the one thing most valuable to him. Congratulations all around.

Sincerely,

Merrick Brown

Yes.

Congratulations. How did the stock part work out? What was the valuation? Did you have an ABV (Accredited Business Valuation) expert on your side?

It was part stock, part profit sharing. The documentation was provided by her employer directly to my lawyer and it included all compensation since she was hired. After taxes, it was 509K, and I also get 108K from her 401k. We are filing 2015 taxes jointly, and if there is a refund, we split it.

Paid for another lawyer specializing in valuation. I get more than half, as she gets the house (paid for), and the newer car (paid for).

Layover in ATL from FL Keys trip. Took my roommate that covered my ### on rent for a few months, my son, and a friend of his from WVU. Friend drove in from Sarasota...brought a bunch of killer herb.

We stayed in Sugarloaf, fished 3 days, ate awesome food at the Square Grouper. Then hit Key West staying at  Weston. Snorkelling , jet skis, booze and food.

While in the Keys, was offered a job over the summer teaching blind students...will have two assistants.

Been awhile, so I thought I'd update.

Move out of the upstairs apartment. Roommate/landlord was starting to deal weed and coke. The decision was made when the cops came knocking on my door looking for him.

Twenty minutes out a US highway there is an exit to a sleepy community where an older couple built two quad apartments just before the fracking boom was to happen. It didn't materialize as expected, so there are five of eight apartments occupied. There is one couple here involved in natural gas biz, the rest are all younger couples.

Ex-wife received notice in March that her employer was downsizing. She was offered a job in Texas but turned it down. Her Job ends the 30th.The guy from her office with which she cheated, was fired last July for fudging numbers. He is now divorced and paying alimony + child support for three children. I kinda feel bad for his wife, but I was reminded she started dating him when he was previously married. She knew who he was.

My son is going to take a 5th year to graduate. He changed his dual PoliSci major to PoliSci and Econ. Researching his capstone projects in Europe now.

Daughter graduated HS and she is so excited for college. Now that I have a bigger place, she has stayed a few times and we hosted her friends over last weekend.

I didn't take the job teaching blind students last summer. My interview with the principal started out like a 30:30 episode. "What if I told you after I offered you the job and a more qualified candidate applied?" The students deserved someone more qualified than me.

I stopped out of a Masters program and started taking undergrad courses to acquire certification in Special Ed. I have to make a huge decision in the coming weeks as to which area of specialization I adopt. I'm leaning toward Autism but also considering Behavioral Disorder. As much as I like the freedom of the work I have been doing, a full-time job and a three-year contract would be a boost to income and health care benefits.

Speaking of benefits...I'm heading out to meet some friends at a bar, and one of those friends come with benefits. Her kids are with their father, and momma has an empty house.

Apologies if you've answered these before but do you have to pay alimony/child support?  Also how have you found the dating scene?  Women readily available or hard to come by?  Do you miss having a wife?

My Bachelor's is in Exceptional Student Education and Master's in Ed Leadership. I'm currently teaching 7th grade ESE but have spent a lot of time working with ASD and EBD students. Autism and EBD units can be tough but rewarding at the same time. I haven't really kept up with this thread, but maybe try and observe those units if you haven't already. Good luck with everything, and I'm here if you have any questions too.

We separated in the Spring of 2005 when my daughter was 16 and son was 20. We agreed to daughter staying at the house and wife in the house. Daughter could see me anytime. I was the at home parent for our kids and their mom was the breadwinner. Early in the process, my ex-wife provided some spousal support and I paid some child support. The following Fall we appeared before the family court judge and asked to remove spousal and child support; we were essentially exchanging money where I was coming out with +$250.

We had three different meetings between us and our lawyers and hammered out an agreement: she got the house and accepted our debts, we both got a car, and chopped marital assets in half. Overall, things were fairly amicable. My lawyer kept pressing me to go after alimony, but I didn't want it. In the last few years of our marriage "our" money slowly "morphed into "her" money. I knew she would be bitter about it and I didn't want to hear her ##### about what I would be doing with "her" money. The entire process took about 13 months.

Started dating a bit last fall, but I have zero interest in a serious relationship. Friends with benefits are just fine by me. Met lots of moms toting kids around to activities, school, etc, and know several recently divorced teachers with which I am friends. :drive:  Might try dating apps at some point, just not that interested.

I don't really miss my ex-wife specifically, but I do find myself lonely at times. It isn't hard to shake as all I have to do is remember the last few years of hell in that marriage. At 47 years old I find myself more comfortable in my skin than any time in my life.
