It's nerve damage, so adding a tendon, etc will not help.  All of the Dr's accounts I've read say the odds of that nerve will never work correctly, if at all.  His knee can fully heal, but he will be zapped of any reaction time off that foot.  A doctor could not give out details of the injury without permission from player, so anything said by doctor was probably aimed at a best case, if not overly optimistic- or he is inclined to state the positives in what is a horrific and dire injury for a football player.
Alright fine, Cookiemonster, you win.  Let's not take Jaylon.  However, I could see 31 teams regretting passing on him.

Still have players I like more than Joseph though, even after watching game tape.  He's got some nice hits, but I'm not sold he's top 25.

There are no redos... You are stuck holding the crutches  :D

If Jaylon's injury was an open and shut case (that nerve cannot heal) then there would not be a discussion.

There is clearly some wiggle room, and the nerve can heal, it happens.  There is NO TELLING if his will heal enough for him to come back.  Basically, no one knows, it's so soon after the injury.

I dunno where he should go, but he was a top 5 player before the draft, he's worth a risk for all the teams at some point.

If you have a player on your draft list and next to the player it says "noooooooooo" do you think I should delete that player or leave them on the list?

I feel a bit like Sammy Jankis here leaving myself notes.

Sorry for the delay, I wanted Darian Thompson when I made the trade offer, but I gotta stick with what I did and find the guy I liked best.

2.76 Carolina Panthers select Jerald Hawkins, OT, LSU

I never imagined Shon Coleman would be gone so early, because he's the guy I like getting mocked to the Panthers in the 3rd if they go T and in Andy's draft he got sniped two picks before me. When I did that draft I really liked Hawkins as the next tackle up, so I won't risk him getting picked because we need to groom our replacement of Oher. I've seen Hawkins ranked from late 2nd through the 3rd, so I like him here.

Coleman=overrated.

With their 3rd round selection pick #77 the Cleveland Browns select Hassan Ridgeway DT 6'3" 303 Texas

40-yard Dash - 5.02 seconds Browns DC Ray Horton wants big men who can run and little men who can hit.  Hassan is a big man who has 'decent' speed for his size.

Rare combination of power and athleticism that give him the potential to impact the game on all three downs.
Classic boom/bust with a high ceiling but low floor due to concerns over health and conditioning."

Kiper feels whoever drafts Ridgeway will be getting a steal.

“When he’s on top of his game, Hassan Ridgeway can play at the level of any of the defensive tackles in this draft,” Kiper said. “But, the fact that he didn’t maximize his rating this year allows him to be a bargain at the point and time in which he comes off the board.”

The Saints have so many holes on defense that we'd have preferred to move down and take a scattershot approach to the mid-rounds.

Alas, with no takers and with Bracie sniping my preferred DL by one pick, we'll settle for a 2nd-round talent who's also still sitting on the board at our greatest position of need.

3.78 - Saints select Adolphus Washington, DT, Ohio State

Mayock has him at #68 on his Top 100 list and his writeup from NFL.com says:

STRENGTHS

Agile and athletic. Can get off snap quickly and has length to fluster interior blockers if coached up. Active interior pass rusher who uses head fakes and foot quickness to open doors to a guards edge. Able to string together pass rush moves and counters. At his best on the move. Can be tough to reach and secure for offensive linemen thanks to lateral quicks. When rush has stalled, will gather himself and look to get his hands in the passing lane. Plus change of direction talent and can hound a runner who tries to bounce it outside. Adequate power at the point of attack and has experience as both a one and two gap defender. Productive tackler with extended tackle radius to get in on the action. Will win if consistently single blocked.

WEAKNESSES

Thin from his knees down. Pad level stays high. Looks top-heavy in his play. Upright movements limit effectiveness in twists. Doesnt own his spot in the grass consistently enough thanks to leverage issues. Needs added strength in lower half and to play with wider base to improve balance. Play was ragged and fatigued against Michigan State in the fourth quarter when his team needed him most. Not even a participation ribbon as a bull rusher. Needs to play square to the line of scrimmage and utilize his punch. Was much bigger factor in offensive backfield in 2014 than he was this year. Inconsistent motor. Arrested for solicitation in a prostitution sting in December and was suspended from the Fiesta Bowl.

I'm sure we'll have nothing to worry about bringing a guy with character concerns to New Orleans to start his pro career.  <_<

The unholy marriage of @Soulfly3 and @Bracie Smathers have drafted for the Browns:

Ronnie Stanley

Will Fuller

Charone Peake

Hassan Ridgeway

I like it.  Ridgeway was a value pick, and while Peake and Fuller might not be true #1 WRs, Peake could easily be a good WR2, and Fuller has value as a deep threat.

My post from the Where Does Jaylon Smith Get Drafted thread:

Took him in the 3rd round of the massraiders mock draft. A) It was an extra pick that I had gotten and B) I took Jordan Jenkins literally the pick before. 70 and 71 I think.

Why? I believe Jaylon is a super athlete (like AP) but he's also younger. *I'm not if sure if this means anything but I thought I'd get the least logical but honest point out of the way first.* Next, I think that Baltimore has proven to have one of the best medical staffs when it comes to rehabbing players. Finally, because of his draft insurance he shouldn't have to worry about money and can strictly focus on working his way back to full health. And also, he could afford to get the same treatment that Peyton Manning got.

Even though I'm optimistic I'm also conservative. So the way I viewed it was maybe I don't get the super stud but maybe a get a decent starter in the 3rd round. Which isn't terrible value. Based on the play of Spence (even though we don't have a true baseline for Spence) I see this being the reasonable median expectation between top 10 pick and never playing again.

Good. I've taken Hawkins in both drafts and still been happy. He's ranked usually right behind Coleman so I'm happy getting him 40 picks later.

I will say I'm happy with the trades. I got the 76,  106 and 121 for 93, 129, 168(?) and next year's 3rd which should be around 90 (our normal pick not the likely 3rd compensatory for Norman). So for next year's 3rd, I moved up 87 spots in three picks, almost a round per pick.

That would work if we just keep track of all future trades.

Even if the owners changed, the teams would retain picks that were gained in this mock.

But by that time we would likely be more interested in the picks NFL teams actually have in 2017 instead of the trades we made.
My post was made tongue in cheek, but yeah the Titans look stacked next year with 2 1's, a 2, and now hypothetically 3 3's

I agree, nice allocation of assets. Honestly with the quality and depth of this draft I think a team has to work hard at having a bad draft.

I think the Colts are in real trouble. They've been so bad at drafting the past ten years that Luck may have a real hard time competing in the division. They might not realize it but I think they'll be falling behind soon.

Grigson still has a job though, makes me smile every day.

Amazing the career that man has been able to cobble together, what would have happened had they not tanked?

I think they should try to do the same thing for real if they can.

Having the extra picks like they do gives them more flexibility to move around and take values like that in the process, without hurting their current draft that much at the same time.

Ravens so far:

Tunsil

Kenny Clark

Jordan Jenkins

Jaylon Smith

3 out of 4 high character guys (Tunsil being the other). Potential to have completely revamped the defense and added the best offensive lineman in the draft. I took some risk with Smith but I have 3 or 4 picks in the next round to help shore up/cover up any weak spots and help mitigate that risk.

As a Steelers fan, this draft scares me as much or more than the Cincy draft.  The potential for Jaylon to bust would be my biggest hope here.  Jenkins is a guy I have taken with the 2.27 quite a few times for Pitt.  I have also liked Clark some too, though I was looking for a NT and found what I thought to be better value.  Tunsil is . . . well, Tunsil.  I just hope the Ravens take Buckner in real life.

Very nice haul. Smith is obviously a risk, but you really didn't have to drop much when you got the Giants 3rd (great move there).

I'm on board too, the Ravens draft has been great so far.
I'm happy with mine:

Corey Colemam

Xavien Howard

Jerald Hawkins

But, picking so late makes it so much harder since our best picks are a couple picks before the bad team's 2nd picks. I have two more coming up in the 4th, so I think I can pull together a nice set of guys that would contribute right away and fill some future needs (like Hawkins) as well.

I wonder if the Panthers will follow my suit and use next year's 3rd to move up this year since they will likely get a 3rd compensatory for Norman. 14 guys from this draft and next draft aren't going to make the team, so might as well make sure we get the guys we covet. I trust Gettleman's picks since he's been on board:

2013: Lotulelei, Short and Klein (unfortunately, stuck behind a great MLB, will make another team happy next off-season)

2014: Benjamin, Ealy, Turner, Boston, Beniwickere

2015: Thompson, Funchess, Williams, Mayo, Artis-Payne

That's 2 pro-bowlers, 2-3 potential future pro-bowlers, 4-5 solid contributors who should be starting in 2016 and 3 backups who will contribute on special teams and hopefully not have to, but could start with injuries. 3 bad picks in 3 years. I'd be more than happy to have him use some of our extra picks and move up to continue to grab some of the gems he has the past few years. Newton, Kuechly and Norman got a huge amount of the press last year and obviously played a big part, but drafts like these are the reason we went to the SB when we weren't picked as a contender instead of bowed out early the previous two playoffs..

The Atlanta Falcons desperately need playmakers on defense, especially at LB, so we have decided to try to draft the Buckeye's entire '15 defense.

At 3.81 we select MLB JOSHUA PERRY Ohio State.

That gives us:

17. OLB Darron Lee OHIO STATE

50. S Vonn Bell OHIO STATE

81. MLB Joshua Perry OHIO STATE

I wonder which Buckeye will be available at 115,  lol

I'll be at a card game all night and I'll be following the thread if we make it back to the 3.90 or w/e my pick is I'll be ready

Wow, that's hilarious.

At least that defense should have good chemistry. I really like all three. Lee and Perry work well off each other. Dan Quinn is pumped right now.

The Pats shouldn't draft RBs or WRs anyways. They've only hit on one WR and one or maybe two RBs. They do better with FA pick ups for those positions.
