Spencer Ware, possibly the new work horse (2 Viewers)

Charles is going to visit andrews tomorrow.  it won't be him if ware can't play.  I would think ware will be fine for next week.  just a guess

Should have down this previously but did not. ugh
I didn't either, don't feel bad. I'm going all in on him though, probably with 100% of my budget. Even if Ware were to pass through protocol quickly,  I need to lock this backfield up.

This is also Ware's first concussion.

Is that good?  my leagues are still old school ww order.  I'm screwed

Well, I'd rather him have no history of concussions than him have a history like Reed's but we don't even remotely know the severity of it yet.

KC might have also been more cautious with Ware after stupidly letting Smith go back in. I'm pretty sure he suffered another concussion almost immediately.

That he's just chillin.

In all honesty I'm not a doctor but if it was bad I imagine he'd be sitting in a dark and quiet room right now and not hanging out with his family in the middle of the stadium.
They are being cautious with him ca use they know how valuable he is.  if you watched the game today they were really never in danger of losing despite their qb and rb going down.  i think he's fine

Charc-nado (sorry) will have the opportunity if Ware misses time for any reason, but can he be as effective?

He was the clear backup for Charles last year when he went down, and had a 3.8 YPC average over 6 games before getting injured himself (hammy) with Ware and Knile taking over the role.

Do people think West steps in again and excels as Ware does in this offense? Seems to have the track record.

I don't.  but I would pick him up if Ware misses.  they may actually pass more

He wouldn't really have to excel assuming the volume is there. He'd at worst be a RB2 in PPR and considering the RB landscape that's worth a lot, especially to Ware owners.

So let's shift gears fast on this news. West was a stud in this offense last year before getting injured, before the Ware breakout. I think he's a good pickup right now and I don't see a lot talked about him. If anything happens (God forbid) to Ware, West would certainly become the workhorse, especially now that Knile Davis has been traded. HE can also serve as a PPR flex in the mean time of as a bye week fill in during a pinch. Run, don't walk to pickup West on this news.

West is just a guy. It's a great system so he could be useful if Ware got hurt but he's nothing special.

"Nothing special" put up RB1 points last year in this offense when he was given the workhorse role.

Seems like this is pretty reasonable thinking.  It didn't seem the chiefs were ever threatened at all and with the Alex Smith stuff going on also, and the lack of reporting on Ware for a while, it may be they just shut it down.

The chiefs aren't the best team in the AFC but they are a factor in things and I hope they get Ware and Charles right and use them appropriately.  They have a good style of ball that is fun to watch when it's working.

I really think charles is done.

We will know a ton about ware on wed

What would lead you to have any faith whatsoever in Charles this season?
Here I am again, 10 weeks later, saying "I think Charles is done and has not looked good enough in practice to be a rb in the NFL anymore" and now I am going to say "I bet the chiefs announce that Dr. James Andrews says JC needs more work on his knee and he'll be placed on IR".

This is why the real handcuff to KC this year was West. I'm glad I held onto him all this time in case Ware misses a week or two.

Former JC owner here (I traded him last week) coming in to eat a little crow.  Not that ware lit it up yesterday BC he obviously didn't even before the concussion, but it was my contention that when Charles started playing he would be worked back into his starting role leaving ware as the lesser part of a 60/40 committee.

Well, I was wrong obviously.  Charles is more hurt than any of us understood.  Ware should continue to be a top 10 fantasy back all season and I wouldn't be surprise to see kc shut Charles down.  West is a valuable hand cuff.

KC is claiming that Smith never suffered a concussion. In a sense they are right, because he didn't suffer "a" singular concussion but multiple concussions.

Every player reacts differently, but if KC is seemingly allowing Smith to return this week you have to assume that is good news for Ware's prospects.

Also, Reid said this in a presser

Andy Reid says Anthony Sherman and Spencer Ware would have been the emergency QBs in a pinch

Pete Sweeney ‏@pgsween  15m15 minutes ago

Andy Reid said if Foles had been injured, the team maybe would have turned to possibly Spencer Ware or Anthony Sherman to play QB.
Does that imply that they may not have ruled out Ware if Foles went down? Also, Ware is an emergency QB? This guy really can do it all.

As an aside to all of this, I was watching Ware's touches vs. NO last week. On one play he was tackled, turned sideways and the ball popped out as he hit the field. He was already down obviously but the ball squirted out. On the play yesterday where he was concussed the ball popped out again. He had the awareness to locate the ball and sweep it under himself but I really am getting the sense that he has ball security issues. And per usual, if I see this then the coaches see this.

Good info thx

Lol what does that prove. I picked him up last week as well. Doesn't mean he's special. You on the other hand are quiet special it appears. lololol
What does it prove? I'm just whistling Dixie over here (hence the whistling emoticon). Don't know about you but week 9 is a tough bye week for many, and picking up West last week on Charles news was probably a good move considering he was most likely a free FA pickup vs this week when there will be a bidding war for him. Depending on the severity of Ware's injury (and we won't know this most likely until later on in the week as he progresses through the protocol) ... this week West could give them a RB1 spot start during week 9, or more, who knows. If Ware comes back this simply serves as a reminder to roster West during the 2nd half of the season as any RB can produce in this offense, even a so called JAG.

And you picked up West so I guess you agree with me ... ".  (this means shrug, something people often do when responding to confusing remarks such as yours). A better response might be, "Yeah I am picking West up too, could be useful (if in fact that is what you did)." Your responses are truly puzzling.

The green box shows what West did in this offense last year as the starter before going down to injury:

2015 West Stats

In my league West scored 21, 22, 32 during his 3 weeks as the starter before going down in the 4th week. that is not just RB1 numbers, but elite stud type numbers (even if you think he's a JAG) . Do you think that might help people during a tough week 9 bye week? I don't know what you have against West, aside from petty arguments with others in this forum, but this seems pretty productive to me. Why the anger? Settle down and be glad you have West on your team.

Not more than I understood.

Does that mean Wate didn't pass the 2nd phase yesterday or today?
Yesterday.

Edit: Well actually I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure in the context I was reading everything it was pertaining to yesterday but now I have to double check.

Yeah JAG's do well all the time in good situations. One thing they don't do is jump special talents like Ware. Which just happens to be what Ware did to your new hero West earlier this year. My point was probably not clear but I just wanted to point out West is nothing special and will only be a spot starter for as long as Ware is out so don't expect anything longterm.

Sounds like Trainer confirmed he didn't pass phase 2 yesterday.  Hopefully there is another update today.

Do they gives these guys the test before the season starts when they haven't been hit?  I'm thinking some of these guys might fail these tests in normal circumstances.
