Second year in a row I have either taken or offered a split. We decided that the winner would get an extra $1000 (8.3%) and we would split the rest. Do other people do this? Do people have a problem with this?

I've been 7 championship games, including 2 this year (1 more possible depending on this weekends results. i.e. the dreaded week 17 championship game) I have a 3-2 record in the previous 5games and I split the pot in one of those. I won the game and vowed to never be the one who offered the split again. If the other person offers me a split however, I would be open to discussion. (Neither of my opponents offered this season, however one of them is my wife so moneywise it is an essential split regardless of the outcome. Yearlong household bragging rights are up for grabs though)

Hmmm... is that one of your smaller money leagues? Seems it's not even worth having a discussion over.

Damn, what's the buy in for that kind of bank? $750?

I wouldn't do it.

Seems kinda unsatisfying after 16 weeks of matchups.

Life has winners and losers.

I'm a big fan of splitting and leaving a little something aside for the winner. This applies to both FF and poker.

No way for me!

It's not about the money. I've had success in my leagues. I've won 4 champioships and several thousand dollars over the years but if I break it down to the hours I spend of FFB, I make more at my office. I play for the enjoyment and satisfaction if I can come out on top.

Good topic!

I'm in the title game in one of my leagues where the constitutions states that the winner takes home $700, the runner-up $300.

I analyzed the rosters and matchups, and decided it's basically a coin flip. I offered my opponent a $600 winner, $400 to the loser split, but he didn't take it.
