The more stats the better I say. Forces you to know the game better. Who are the RB/WRs that would jump to the top of the list if return yards were counts. You should know that if you know football. Having a basic yardage/TD league is for amateurs. We've added return yardage in all the leagues I'm in as of now.Makes for more useful players, an some borderline players better. Also getting good return yardage for an real football team can behuge benefit for them, so making it an addition to fantasy playersfor a lot of us in such leagues just makes sense. Also makes for different draft and player strategy then just grab anrandom cheat-sheet off the web and follow it blindly, just another stat.People play in IDP player leagues, some play PPR, an some have theReturn aspect, it is all good if you know ahead of time/play accordingly.Leagues with PPR an Return someone like Sproles can compete with topfantasy RB's an knowing this in those leagues is great information to use. It is all about the leagues you are in, and how your league rules are set up.(there is no one best/only way to run fantasy leagues)

This makes zero sense. How would they have a better record? Is Ivory going to paly LB or better yet CB?If the saints had the stones to flip flop Ingram and ivory they'd likely have a better record. If they ever would it would likely cut morso into Pierre's snaps
Sold him for Heath Miller. Sproles was my RB4/5 and would never start. Only TE was Rudolph and I lost a lot of confidence in him when he put up a bagel vs ARZ.A guy in next to last place just dealt him to me for Alex Green and a 3rd round pick in my PPR keeper. He's a welcomed addition this week with Ray Rice off. Anyone else bye or sell him recently?
Hand is brokenSaw that Sproles has a hand issue and hasn't been practicing. Any Saints owners have any updates on this? I did a quick google search but found nothing more than a generic "hand injury". Plays monday night so I guess we'll see if he practices today.
No, I think it is Thomas. Thomas is a very good receiver and will now be the back on the 3rd downs and passing situations which for the Saints is usually half the game. The Saints like using screens and dumpoffs and Thomas stands to get more of those easy yards now. Up to this point Sproles has being leading the Saints in terms of snap counts but Thomas should clearly be the leader now.Indirectly it may be a boost for Ingram too because they might use Thomas a little less on early downs.Hmmm, I'd like to say that Pierre Thomas would get some extra looks...but I think it's more likely that Lance Moore is the one who benefits the most from this.
Both will benefit greatly from this.Hmmm, I'd like to say that Pierre Thomas would get some extra looks...but I think it's more likely that Lance Moore is the one who benefits the most from this.
Yeah I think Cadet will see more involvement but not necessarily Ivory. Ivory would benefit if Thomas or Ingram went out. With Sproles out I would suspect his role would now be divided between Cadet and Thomas. However, it is doubtful Cadet's role would be big enough to warrant a pick up. Sproles himself has been pretty borderline.Couple of thoughts here:1) does this finally get Chris Ivory on the field on early downs? Let Thomas take on more of Sproles' role, and give Thomas' early down carries to Ivory. I know Saints fans have been clamoring for this given the lack of ground production.2) Don't forget about Travaris Cadet. Saints loved the kid in the preseason and were terrified to try to slip him through waivers. He's a very smooth receiver, and a lot of speculation at the beginning of the year had Cadet as essentially Sproles' handcuff for the Saints.
I would hope so but I doubt it when referring to Ingram. He clearly a volume runner and I don't think he'll see a big enough boost to put him back on the radar. That being sad, I just stashed him in one of my RB hungry leagues just to see what happens. My take is..Moore and PT see the biggest bump.Graham sees the next biggest bump.Colston and Ingram see incremental bumps.Cadet is someone to keep any eye one.ingram might have some value afterall. obviously thomas becomes a solid rb2 now but ya never know.
I disagree with this. Ingram doesn't fit the Saints offense and specifically having to come from behind a lot because of their pourous defense. It could just as easily be Cadet who fills out the Sproles role better. Thomas gets a boost to RB2 status and the guys behind him are lottery pick handcuffs.i doubt the saints will use 3 rbs just for the sake of using 3 rbs. imo thomas and ingram will now split carries. thomas is clearly the guy to own but ingram makes a good what the heck ww pickup if you have a spot to see how this plays out
Agree - convinced myself to drop Ivory for Cadet in the deep leagues where I was hoping against hope.I disagree with this. not yet, a timeframe will be out soon. Wait 'til then.'kegger said:Any speculation how long Sproles could/would be out?I mean is it like if you needed space it might be time to consider dropping him?
Does anyone think PT is a better option than Turner this week?'steelwind said:Pierre Thomas can be a star again. Solid RB2 with RB1 upside on that offense since he can also catch. Not sure about Ingram and his role. He may get a couple more carries per game to give Thomas a breather. But clearly this is the Pierre Thomas show as far as the Saints RBs go.He was not available in any of my leagues. Darn.
Yes. And if it's a PPR league... HELL yes. This is all Pierre, all the time. He's the only back there with the skill set to replicate what Sproles gave them.Does anyone think PT is a better option than Turner this week?'steelwind said:Pierre Thomas can be a star again. How many of them will he be fumbling?Vitt expressly stated Ivory will see touches Monsay fwiw
But have you got rid of Blount yet?Man, actually feel bad about moving Sproles in a trade Tuesday night. Had no idea he was injured and I had multiple offers for him. Ended up getting Nicks and Mike Williams for Sproles, Boldin and S. Moss. Oof.
I fell into the opposite trap. Moved Doug Martin following the Carl Nicks news in a trade package late Wednesday that included Jimmy Graham knowing I still had Sproles and Spiller to start going forward. Now with Sproles out I'm forced to roll the dice on Ronnie Hillman this week. Hoping this isn't a long-term injury; losing Sproles hurts in return yardage/PPR formats.Man, actually feel bad about moving Sproles in a trade Tuesday night. Guessing he broke a metacarpul and they had to put a tiny pin in. But 8 weeks seems long for that so not sure.'DevilintheDetail said:Anyone know how he hurt the hand? How unusual is it to get surgery for a broken hand?

Puts him out until week 13 at the earliest. Is he even rosterable anymore?Latest has him out 4-6 weeks.
Yeah...why give an opponent him right before playoffs?Puts him out until week 13 at the earliest. Is he even rosterable anymore?Latest has him out 4-6 weeks.
It sounds like week 13 is the best case scenario. If you take the worst case scenario of 6 weeks he's out until week 15. Are you going to trust throwing him in in your playoff matchup at that point? Meanwhile, he may be taking up valuable roster space while an opponent of yours is working the waiver wire.In leagues with strict roster requirements it's a tough call depending on what's on your waiver wire. In leagues with large rosters he's a stash and hope.Yeah...why give an opponent him right before playoffs?Puts him out until week 13 at the earliest.
