Through 7 rounds - in a PPR/2PPR league - I've drafted a backup QB, a backup RB, and still don't have a starting TE or WR3. It's these sorts of decisions that make you look like either a genius or an idiot at draft's end.

I daresay I'll have the best QB combo in SSL4 with Ryan and Freeman, whom I think is poised for a breakout season. Hopefully that will make up for whatever third-tier guy I wind up trotting out there on a weekly basis at TE.

Ivory is exactly the kind of guy I was hoping to nab as my RB3 - a high-risk, high-upside guy with a clear shot at a starting gig. If he misses, not a huge loss; if he hits big, it could be enough to push me into the playoffs.

Though you're right, that would be one heck of a dynasty squad you're building.

A consistent theme among "shark" redraft leagues I've been involved with is that too many people tend to overvalue potential and undervalue past performance - give me the guy who's shown he can deliver over the guy who may or may not be able to deliver every day of the week. The use of MSL in these leagues (which tends to skew ADP heavily in favor of last year's stats) means I don't see as much of that here, so some upside guys tend to fall a bit, and at where you were able to land them I actually don't hate your team. Though with Morris being unproven and Bush being so brittle, I think it might be your lack of RB depth that lands you on the rocks at some point.

Having waited so long on TE, I had to grab at least one in the 8th round, but with WR's going at a much faster pace than in the other SSL's, I felt that TE-TE represented best value at that point. Gresham and Davis are TE1-tier guys whose stocks have taken a hit - the former when Eifert was drafted, the latter from his Achilles' injury. But I'm a big believer in talent over situation and I think these guys both have talent to spare.

Took Reese at 12.15 since I think he'll be the safety valve out of the backfield as Flynn learns their offense. There are definitely more talented guys still on the board, but picking a big injury risk as my RB4 almost obligates me to take a 5th RB later, and with only 18 roster spots I don't want to paint myself into that corner.

The fact that I landed an actual WR3-caliber guy as my WR3, despite waiting until #159 overall, gives me hope for my WR corps. It's still embarrassingly thin at this point but I'll be throwing plenty of darts against that board in the last 5 rounds.

Not sure why the general consensus is for Seattle as the #1 DST - with Gus Bradley skipping town, Denver and their 32nd-ranked schedule was atop my board. I expected to wait on my 2nd D until very late or even run with Denver alone, but when the 12/13 turn came and a run on D's still hadn't materialized, I scooped up Belichick's boys. Given that week-to-week defensive scoring is highly random, I think that might deliver me more incremental points at 13.02 than a TE3 or WR4 would.

Pretty happy with my team so far, though I'm probably going to have to hit big on at least one of my late-round WR long shots to be a legit title contender.
