STAR WARS: EP 7 ***SPOILER ZONE*** - Go here if you've seen it (2 Viewers)

This is why real fans still watch the originals on their Laserdisc players and guys like Andy get confused with all the new added crap.
Calm down, superstar. If you were as in tune as you're implying you'd know that real fans watch the originals on the 2006 DVDs that are on the supplemental discs, albeit only in non-anamorphic widescreen.
Why would you watch a lesser version on dvd than on your widescreen laserdiscs?
Gotcha again. The DVD versions are lifted right from the laserdisc.

You really need to break out your laserdiscs and look at the difference.

Are we all supposed to be upset that Andy didn't like the movie? Sorry I started on this thread recently and I"m not up to speed.
I have to imagine that most people actually don't give a ####. Way to many people get offended by a strangers opinion about a piece of fiction that the offended person had no part in making.

Then break them out and watch and listen to them, lots of differences, the dvd's are of lesser quality.

Not just Andy. Anyone who doesn't love it.
I think its more about fans of the originals not liking it because of plot holes etc when the originals had numerous plot holes themselves. Failure to judge the first 3 with same that you are judging the new one is not entirely fair.

I wasn't thrilled that Rey was able to use the force as well as she did with little training( that we know of, I believe in the mind erase theory) but I also dont fault New Hope/Empire/Jedi that Luke trained with Yoda for maybe 2-3 days or a few minutes depending on your opinion and became a Jedi

Some of us were 6-7 years old when we saw the first 3 and in our 30s/40s when we saw the new one. Not exactly the same lens.

I apologize, I assumed most people have seen them quite a few times since the first time they saw them.

There's a difference between plot holes and stuff that just doesn't work.
And you do not think there was anything in the first three that "just didn't work"?
Not much in the first two. A few in Jedi. Just about everything in the prequels.
Something as simple as the Rebels paying off Han's debt to Jabba?
Sure. This is getting less fun the more I realize you're genuinely being a #### about this.

I am not trying to be a jerk. But you act as if there aren't some very questionable "things that don't work" in the originals. Thats all.

Maybe the rebels don't have a ton of disposable cash to pay off smugglers debts. Intergalactic war ain't cheap y'know.

There aren't many...To me.And you're acting like all shortcomings are the same.

And how many jails post guards INSIDE the cells? I know they had to show Rey's Force awakening but it's those plot contrivance that drive me crazy
And IMO there are plenty of these "plot contrivances" in the first three.

Cool. IMO, there's not.

Ben Kenobi = Obi Wan Kenobi...pretty tough code to crack.

Obiwan Ben Larry Kenobi. Actually he goes by Steve now.

Ben Kenobi = Obi Wan Kenobi...pretty tough code to crack.
Kenobi is the Smith of that galaxy. In the cantina alone there was Ownellco Kenobi and Muftak Kenobi. Dice Ibegon's maiden name was Kenobi.
Christ. I'm pretty sure my wife won't have sex with me tonight for just reading that. Talk about :nerd: .
Some of that may not be completely accurate.

"And these blast points, too accurate for sand people. Only imperial storm troopers are so precise" - Obi-Wan Kenobi
Eveyone in that galaxy was just a WORSE shot than storm troopers.

Lucas made a liar out of Kenobi constantly in the proceeding movies. That line worked perfectly at the time though.

"That wizard's just a crazy old hermit." Clearly Owen knew he was going senile.

What's funny is besides storm troopers being horrible shots, TPM shows sand people shooting pods going hundreds of miles per hour with a sniper rifle.

Pretty racist to just lump all "sand people" into one group. Sure, they may look similar, but let's not go saying "they all do this..." or "they all are bad at that..." It's this type of racism that is running rampant in the outer rim.

Vader: I want the hyper drive from the Millennium Falcon damaged so that they cannot reach light speed

Mechanic: Any thought to just totally disabling the engine?

Vader: *force choke*

How about how it looks like Luke has weeks of training with Yoda when really it all happened while Han & Co. flew to and ate lunch at Cloud City?

Leia: They only sent two TIE fighters after us, they easily could've sent 100. Obviously the only explanation is that the Empire put a tracking device on the Falcon. #### it, let's go straight to our hidden base anyway, I'm sure we'll figure out a way to blow up the space station that just turned my home planet into dust in time!
