Star Wars The Last Jedi Episode 8 thread: this thread sucks, you should avoid it even after you've seen the movie (1 Viewer)

Kenobi was ready for the Qui-Gon finisher when Maul attempted it this time.
here is what the executive producer said

=====================

Maul tries to get Obi-Wan with a very similar move as he gets Qui-Gon. Which is he blocks and uses the blunt of his hilt to smack Qui-Gon in the face. So I had Maul try to do the same thing to Obi-Wan but again, to show growth, Obi-Wan is ready for that and slices it right in half. That slicing of the lightsaber hilt is to represent Maul being sliced. But we all joked that maybe Obi-Wan should dice him up and bring him to other parts of the planet because he tends to come back, that crafty Maul. But not this time.

Anybody watching Rebels? Awesome episode last night with Obi Wan.
So was that Luke looking to the suns from Episode IV, or does he always look towards them nightly?  Trying to figure timeline.

What are they going to do with Ezra and Kanan?  I dont think letting them live into Episode IV as light side jedi is an option I would like.

Fully expect Rebels to go the "Rogue One" route and give just about the whole squad a heroic way to die helping the cause, something tied in to an event from one of the existing movies most likely.  It's not just Kanan and Ezra as jedi...the mandalorians don't really survive into the movie chronology, and Zeb's people are nonexistent in the films.  Hera's about the only one they could justify pulling out.  Maybe she flies Luke to his secret planet between eps 6 and 7.

From a kid's show perspective, killing the heros seems rough.

Maybe.  I assume it would be implied/offscreen, much like the ending to Rogue.

I never got past season 1, but how did Clone Wars handle Anakin's going dark?  Or did they just stop before episode 3 began?

Are you talking about the end of the episode?  That was suppose to represent Luke being called home to dinner.

We already met Leia in Rebels and I think she was 16 so Luke must be very close to that as not a lot of time has passed since we saw Leia in season 2.

The Ghost was there at the final battle In Rogue One, and we don't know if it survived. But one of these days On Rebels we're going to see that battle from Hera's point of view.

Kanan is going to die. Don't the mentors almost always die? I think Ezra fails at something and retreats into hiding. Maybe he shows up in a movie at some point? It would be really interesting but I would think 90% of the movie audience wouldn't get it.

My original thought was that Ezra was going to end up being Snoke. His teachings from Maul pointed toward that - using both The Dark and The Light side. But now I don't think that's going to be the story.

If it does, though, you better believe I'm  going to quote this post and take a bow.

That would be FANTASTIC.

Pretty weak finale to Rebels.

Weak season really. Wish they explored more dark side conflicts with Ezra. Also, wtf was point of Bindu?

I thought it was a great season, good finale that didn't quite have the same oomph as a few other episodes.

I didn't get Bindu either. Just a plot device to bail them all out.

Is there a rebels thread?  I keep coming in thinking it's an episode 8 update and it's you guys talking rebels.   :sadbanana:

I just started watching this on a whim the other day.. started from the beginning.. the first couple episodes absolutely hooked me... it's a really decent show for a cartoon.

I'm mid-way through season 2 and still loving most of the episodes.   I even read the Kanan 12 issue comic book which was pretty darn good

Anyone have any idea when Rebels is going on Netflix?
don't you have the torrents?  why wait for netflix?

heck, it's gotten to the point that even though I have a working cable subscription and could record episodes on DVR, that I'd rather still torrent and watch the show thanks to the torrent people already editing out the commercials

Wait, what?   I'm only mid-way through season 2 is this a spoiler of some sort?  I watched Rogue One, don't remember mentioning the ghost

Not so much a spoiler as an Easter Egg, it was one of the ships in the fleet that shows up to support the ground troops. Unknown if it survived, seemed to be implied that at least a few ships other than just Leia's escaped the Devastator.

I believe there are some other Rebels easter eggs as well throughout the movie.

Not a torrent guy.

It's on the DIsney XD app.

Chopper was seen in Rogue 1 too (and General Syndulla was summoned over the loud speaker) - both on Yavin 4.
only the current season and some of season 1 are on the app, not the whole series..  at least that's how it is through comcast's access to the content.

I wouldn't have caught those at the time since I started this after Rogue 1..   I didn't even realize Hera's last name was Syndulla

Some info on the future of SW:

Kathleen Kennedy and the rest of Lucasfilm fully intend to make an Obi-Wan movie set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with Ewan McGregor in tow.

Rest assured, the Boba Fett movie is not dead. It’s not strictly a Boba Fett movie, but a film about an ensemble of bounty hunters on an adventure. It sounds as though Fett is just one important component to the movie as opposed to the central character.

On Han Solo movie:

The movie is said to have something of a comic book/pulp feel as well.

Star Wars on television is going to become a big focus over the next few years.

Since Star Wars is a generational thing, there will be a gap between the Sequel Trilogy’s end and the new trilogy’s arrival.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but on the Blu-Ray bonus disk for Rogue One they point out that "General Syndulla" is paged over the loudspeakers at Yavin 4.

The first trailer for episode 8 is almost here.  It will air during Star Wars Celebration, which runs from April 13-16.
