Start Jordan. (1 Viewer)

This is what Jordan had to say per fanball

Raiders running back LaMont Jordan came back from the bye week angry, and he's not afraid to let anyone know about his feelings. "Offensively, we've had three bye weeks," Jordan told the Oakland Tribune. "We definitely haven't shown up to play football. I'm calling the offense out. I'll say it: We need to step up and play, every player — offensive line, running backs, wide receivers, quarterback... (The Chargers and Ravens) came out, and they hit us in the mouth, and they did it for 60 minutes. And we responded by retreating."

Our View

Hey, somebody needs to light a fire under the Raiders, and it might as well be LaMont. We don't know that any of his teammates will listen, but it can't hurt. The Raiders host the Browns this Sunday, and life should be a bit easier for Jordan and the ground game against a weaker defense.

MY VIEW: this is the week we were hoping from Jordan when we drafted him early. He did not quit on the Raiders last year and he won't quit this year. 100 total yards and a score this week.

I don't know, Carter. You've remained positive about Lamont, and I applaud you for it. That said, as a fellow owner of Jordan the past two seasons, I've given up hopes for him for this year. Not a knock on him, but the fiasco around him.

I'm just hoping for a better 2007 if they can somehow improve the system and get players that actually want to be there.

Now or never for Lamont! I'm going with him this week - he gives me another 0-3 pt outing he will be on my bench for the forsseable future. Have a good feeling about him this wekk,,,,,but then again I had a good feeling about him when I drafted him!

I agree. He should go off this week, but if he doesn't, his value will sink even lower than it already is, if that's possible.

Hey guys. So I have Heap and Colston (in a yahoo league). Do you think it is worth it to "buy low" on Jordan right now with one of these guys?

I'm strongly considering starting Lamont Jordan over Maroney...

Browns rushing def ranks 25th. Bengals rush def ranks 20th. Not that big of a difference, but jordan has to have one good game right?

I'm also not giving up on Jordan yet. Anybody that thinks it's not possible to put up good fantasy numbers in a lousy offense need only look at a guy like D. Davis. Yes he had a QB that could throw a little but Carr spent most of that time on his back.

I gotta see a couple more weeks plus what could I get for Jordan now? :loco:

Willie

He's sitting behind Westbrook, KJones and CTaylor for me right now (ppr league) and will remain on my bench until the Raiders O shows me something.

Clev's rush D is bad, but I just can't see playing him until you see something, anything first.

Not that Brooks was any good, but bench him esp. b/c Walters is at QB.

If you've got no other options though I think he's a decent start this week.

I say start Jordan with confidence unless you solid stud RB's. How many healthy RB's are facing mediocre D's, with two weeks to prepare and rest up. He called the team out this week. He's ready to carry the load. He'll get at least 20 carries (they're not going to get blown out), and maybe 3-5 catches as well. He makes a nearly perfect RB2 this week. Think about who they played in the 1st two games. SD is a top run D and the Ravens have been playing better D than almost anyone to this point. The Raiders are making a significant move down in class playing Cle this week at home. Even if they only accumulate 275-300 yds, Jordan will probably get 100 of it. He's still the same RB you guys drafted a month ago.

I like Jordan as the Raiders main man. I have him in two leagues ......Problem is, his performance isn't up to him.....Unless Shell has made some drastic O line changes and decides to start throwing the ball to his running backs, Jordan's numbers will remain low..Shell is the problem here not Jordan....Walters as the QB may actually be an improvement...I'm gonna start him and hope for the best..

Traded Jordan for McGahee yesterday - but he's still on my team until the trade clears on Monday. I don't think I'm going to start him. Yes, CLE is much different than SD and BAL, but that O-line is SOOO bad... and just because Shell "wrote down" that they should pass to LaMont, doesn't mean he'll suddenly get 5-6 targets this week. Not buying it.

I used to like Jordan, but then I read that the new offensive coordinator ran a motel for the past 7 years before taking over as the Oakland offensive C, I given up hope. I wonder if he has the players jump over beds :D

my only hope (as a jordan owner) is that art shell gets fired and they start over. shell was a terrible coach the first time around and he may have gotten worse.

In Nor Cal we call them bed and breakfasts -- same deal but they charge more.

Actually I am down on Jordan this year, and benched him in week 2, but Jordan will do well this week and here is why.....Tho O-line is bad and we all know that and against good run defense they will struggle. This is the exact same as last year. Look at last years stats with Jordan against very good run D's:

-against San Diego last year in week 5: 36 yards

-against San Diego last year in week 12: 55 yards

-against Den in week 9: 48 yards

-against Philadelphia in week 3: 19 yards

Side note: what made Jordan a must start every week was his involvement in the passing game which made up for these bad weeks. This has not been the case this year so far.

Now lets look at how this same bad O line did against weeker run D's;

-against KC in week 8: 93 yards (4.9 yard average a yard higher then his ypc average and a 50 yard TD called back in this game)

-against Buffalo in week 6: 122 yards (one of only 3 hundred yard games of the year)

-against Cleveland in week 14: 132 yards

This O-line is bad against good run d's but against not as good they and Jordan are ok. I would be very optomistic starting Jordan against good run d's until they show that they will use him in the passing game. But this week he is a must start.

Picked him up off of waivers this week and started him against the guy that dropped him... :lmao:
Guy in one of my leagues dropped him on Friday, so I went to get him, but he doesn't clear until tomorrow. I have the #3 WW priority and the guy that dropped him has #2. The guy with #1 is the worst team in the league, so here's to hoping he didn't decide to pick him up.

Sorry, I have never been one to comment on what type of league are you in that someone drops a starting RB that finished in the top 10 in fantasy last season after playing only 2 games against very good run D's this season, but I am going to say he should not be on any waiver wires unless you play in a really, I mean really small league.Starting RB's that get all of the work and are the goaline backs are not easy to come by. At worst they are bye week fillers.
