Just found this thread, at this point are you glad you did it and how did you research the best online options for the degree? If I could find something with a real estate focus this could be intriguing....thanks for this thread.
100%. Did some weeks suck, absolutely, but if you schedule your time appropriately then no worries.
I had a few criteria that I wanted.
1. ROI - When I decided to go back the company I was with would pay 100% in person or 50% online. At that point I was with this company for 6 years, and after a recent merger I could not see myself staying another 5. With that said I wanted to find a school that would give me the best bang for the buck, so I could pay out of pocket. I researched a few brick and mortars (LSU and Tulane) along with other online options (UNC, Indiana, LSU, LSUS, etc.). Considering I was 40 when I started I would be close to retirement by the time I started seeing a favorable ROI had I opted in for UNC for example. I looked at the LSU program in person and online. If I recall the online version was around 50k. I looked around and found out that LSU-Shreveport was 12k. Easy choice.
2. Reputable online school - I was traveling 75% at this time so really online was the only option.
3. Accredited - I only wanted to go to a school that was accredited. Obvious reasons.
One benefit of going to LSUS was that if you had a certain undergrad GPA and x amount of years in the workforce you could substitute that for a GMAT score. That was a big selling point for me because had I opted for another school that required GMAT I would have been a year older before starting.
As far as researching I just read different sites, blogs, forums, etc. Looks like FSU is a good value.
