Starting Wr's that have found there way to waiver wire (1 Viewer)

There will likely be a lot of attention payed to the latest efforts by Victor Cruz and Torrey Smith this week on waivers but I am wondering if some of these guys that have found their way to the waver wire because of injury, or other short term circumstances, might be a better long term snag at the position.

In my league you can find

Ward, Hines WR PIT

Thomas, Mike WR JAC

Evans, Lee WR BAL

Crabtree, Michael WR SF

Ford, Jacoby WR OAK

These guys have produced in past situations but find themselves with injury or in a different situation due to changing teams etc. Do any of these names stick out to you? Would you rush to get them over the Cruz and Smith's of the waiver wire? What valuable Wr's have made their way to your wire?

I would scoop up Mike Thomas in a hurry. I traded Jaxoby Ford to someone last week, who then dropped him after word that he was not playing. Ill probably try to grab him back this week.

Lance Moore is there in several of my leagues - could be there in some if the owner was impatient and dropped him after his injury. Would be smart pickup for PPR and Colston still out.

Only read add from that list is Thomas - #1WR on Jags - and Gabbert will improve but even so 15+ ppr points yesterday

Crabree may have some upside but I doubt it is realized with Alex Smith throwing to him

I dropped Evans in a 16 team, 3 starting WR, 2ppr league this week for a 2nd defense. He faces the Jets next week and then the bye, so I couldn't waste a roster spot on him. Might re-evaluate later, but he hasn't caught 45 balls either of the last two seasons, and from what I've seen, I'm not counting on him to do so this year.

Echo the Thomas calls in here. Definitely worth a roster spot and can be a WR2/3 level starter, IMO.

I might think about Ford, who showed some upside last year, and Crabtree, who has, or at least was perceived as having, big talent. I'd consider these guys if you have a roster spot you can gamble with, but not expect production from.

Thomas for sure in PPR leagues. Even with a rookie QB Thomas is the No. 1 WR and should see a healthy number of targets. At worst he should be a solid WR3 in PPR leagues.

Ford's intriguing due to his potential but he hasn't shown he can stay healthy. But he's certainly a good depth guy if you have the roster room to spare.

I'm a big Evans fan but given what Smith has shown I don't think the Ravens need to rush him back.

None of the rest do much for me.

In a 16 team dynasty with 40 man rosters where we can start 3 - 4 WR's, the following 2 WR's were dropped in successive weeks:

Week 1 - Austin Collie was dropped

Week 2 - Mario Manningham was dropped

16 team 40 man roster? Dynasty? Jeebus! They must have a ton of "potential" on their benches.
