I haven't really read all the comments from players and coaches, let alone the comments in this thread, so I apologize if I've gotten something mixed up or am simply repeating something that's been posted 6 times, but I think I've seen some reference to a moral victory in yardage, or whatever, and I'm seriously wondering if maybe rex ryan is literally mentally r3tarded.

I mean, let's forget about the first game, where miami ran over the jets like a snowplow over somebody's stray puppy, and let's forget about special teams, which from the name of it, is the unit rex should be playing on ---- does he not realize that when he gives up 100 yds + a td to his opponent in a single play that his team gets the ball right back again to gather more yardage?

I suppose that if you don't count special teams, for whatever reason, and simply forfeit miami a few drives, that the yardage will skew in your favor, but you'd have to be a nitwit to look at it like that.

here's a breakdown of the drives:

first half --- jets had 6 entirely futile drives ending in punts and one fg, while miami had 6 entirely futile drives and one fg.

that's pretty even.

3rd quarter -- because of miami's special teams, and the jason taylor fumble return td, which I'm sure doesn't count, the jets had 4 drives to miami's one, resulting in a fg, td, punt, and turnover, while miami just managed a punt.

looks like jets are 2 scores up + the turnover at this point on 3 extra drives.

4th quarter -- jets produce two long td drives and turn the ball over on downs, while miami manages just one long td drive and a punt.

once again, jets outproduce miami by one long td drive on their one extra drive.

the point is to outscore your opponent.
