Stephen King's "Under the Dome" coming to CBS (2 Viewers)

If this was on in the Fall, I'd never watch it. Since its Summer and TV is crap, I watch it.

It pains me because I love a lot of King's fiction... even the book this was based on (despite it's stupid ending, a common King issue).

This show is ridiculous and meandering.

Are you at least having fun while watching by making fun of it? Otherwise, I don't get hate-watching a TV show.

Even my oldest son, who watches it with me is coming over to my side that the show is awful. It is so all over the place it is ridiculous. Big Jim is happy go lucky, so all of a sudden everyone (that knows) could care less about the murders he committed? Now we have Junior killing Angie in his sleep and some idiot lady who thinks Big Jim is Jim Jones?

As Hulk said above, no way would I watch this outside of Summer.

I liked the show's 1st season, but the last episode was a trainwreck. I fell asleep halfway through, and just watched the remaining portion today. Don't know if I can even watch any more.

The 1st season was decent, although I hated the end with the almost hanging. Watching the chick cop stand there while Big Jim tried hanging Barbie made me not look forward to this season. Watching the past two episodes really makes me not want to watch.

Not sure how it worked in the book, but I can't imagine King likes what he sees. We get this whole 4 people/monarch with the egg and now the egg is sunk and 1 of the 4 is dead by another of the 4's hands. Now we have brand new characters and a DJ as the sheriff, yeesh.

The stupid dome gives the writers creative license to pretty damn well do any asinine thing they want with the plot.

Next week looks cringe-worthy with its biblical overtones, including yet another new character plus blood raining from the sky.

They killed the kinda cute cop and the hot blonde. They're one dead redhead away from killing any chance of me continuing to watch this crud.
Steven King must really hate women.
Well to be fair he did bring back the dead fat chick this week and added some mystery young drowning victim too.
And the new, hot science teacher.

Even though she's really not hot.
Junior's girlfriend was hotter than drowning victim/found in the woods girl & I even liked the chunky cop better than this alien looking science teacher.

Holy #### I can't believe I spend time watching this. It's so bad :lmao:

Did I really just watch Barbie fly Big Jim's plane, hit the dome with his wing, almost run out of fuel, and dump pesticide on crops? WTF

Angie was genuinely hot, I was sad to see her go. :(

I liked Linda too - big fan - she belongs in this thread.

The science teacher is cute, but definitely #3 out of these three.

The new girl (who I assume came from the egg/dome) is very pretty, but she'll probably stay looking dazed and ethereal until she eventually morphs into Zul.

It was slightly improbable.

Man, this show really blows. Barber breaking into science teacher's car.. science teacher with shotgun: "hey, you're the guy.. the murderer." Barbie snatches gun away from science teacher and says "I'm not a murderer"... 5 seconds later they are best friends.

Science teacher then becomes the town's agricultural expert and decides to burn down half the crops because of some grubs. There were tons of butterflies who laid the eggs. Weren't those butterflies caterpillars before or did they just appear out of thin air?

Female sherriff pushes Barbie out of the way and waits 5 seconds against the dome for the car to smash her. Reminds of Austin Powers steamroller scene

I can't see Dwight Yoakam without thinking of Sling Blade.

"What'cha doin' with that lawn mower blade, Karl?"

"I aim to kill you with it."

I've decided to go MST3K on this show. Only way to make it bearable.
That's what I asked earlier in the thread. If you can at least have fun goofing on it, I can see watching. We watch 24 that way. It's easy to point out the silliness and enjoy it. Some shows are far too past that though.

I really need some explanation on the thinking of killing off 25% of the population?

They've got 7 days until food runs out or some such nonsense...if you kill off 25% today...wouldn't you only by yourself maybe 3 more days at best?

How does this even work? Or is there a sustainability threshold that can be reached if you killed off 25%?

If that threshold is so close...how can you only have 7 days left?

I realize it makes no sense to try to question this show but I need help with this leap...

I tried to keep this in my summer rotation, but it gets worse every week. I knew it would be just a silly summer show and never took it serious. But even now I have no interest in any part of the story lines. I had it on the DVR, tried to watch them uncover who the mystery girl was and her relationships to people. But even that is horrible. Lost my interest in this quickly.

Having said that, I really enjoyed the book. It had a horrible ending, but I enjoyed the journey up to that point. A good read.

Yep...

Can't believe how bad the tv show got compared to the book, which I also enjoyed..

I have the last 2 or 3 episodes on DVR with no desire to watch them...

:lmao: They're back in the dome. Awesomeness
It was that, or change the title to "Somewhat under the dome."
Well, given they've killed off so many characters along they way, at least they found a way to add a couple new characters to the mix without it being some new person who was "oh, I was stuck here with you the entire time, but you just didn't see me."
Glasses hacker = Nikki and Paulo
LOL, so true. He'll be dead soon. If it weren't for my son, I would never be watching. It is so bad it is ridiculous, so it is fun for us to make fun of it. Big Jim is just such a cartoon it isn't even funny. Whatever happened to his Jim Jones phase?

Epically stupid show. Won't be watching any further. I can just stare at still pictures of Rachelle Lefevre for a few minutes every week.

Big Jim has switched personalities several times now.

Clearly the dome has really important plans for him.

I cringe at some of his lines. :oof:

Should I feel good about stopping this show after the first season?
It's trainwreck stuff for me. Feel like you want to look away, hard to look at, but you're fascinated and need to see what the heck is going on.

I gave up after the first season too. I even recorded all episodes from last summer but never watched them. Just lost interest so I deleted them for space.

Made it through 20 minutes of the S3 premiere. Was debating deleting without watching the rest, then noticed that it was two hours. Deleted. Will stare at Rachelle Lefevre pics online instead.

No idea why I keep watching this show. I feel like kicking my own ### after each viewing.
:goodposting:

If it weren't the summer and I hadn't watched the first season with my oldest son, I wouldn't be watching. All we talk about is how bad the show is. If he was 21, I'd make a drinking game of it. Chug a beer every time Big Jim goes from a bad guy to a sort of good guy and you'd finish a case every show.

Big Jim would be a superhero on the show if he would just share the secrets that he knows and the BS that he sees thru.
