Most people don’t see McNair as a HOFer (about 80% in this poll don’t).

None of the other guys I listed were HOFer’s and there was no Jessie Jackson protest on their part. I don’t see why McNair would cause one.
I don't disagree with you that McNair isn't getting in, but certainly he's closer than Harris (who never started an entire season, only made it to one pro bowl, and never seriously contended for a major statistical category at any point in his career), Cunningham, and D. Williams.
I don't know why you think McNair would be more of a HOF candidate than Cunningham.Cunningham is a 2-time NFL MVP [McNair is a 1-time Co MVP], and ranks higher among the all-time passing marks.
 Huh???Cunningham never was an MVP, let alone a 2-time winner.

In most years the NFL MVP votes are unanimous but the AP is not the only voting body. AP, Maxwell Club, Pro Football Writers Association and the Sporting News all vote independently.Cunningham was a Maxwell MVP twice and won the PFWA title once.

As far as I know, the AP balloting is the only sanctioned MVP Award and all others are not official.

Unless we're talking about the Alcorn State Hall of Fame, not even close. I'm a big McNair fan but let's be realistic here folks. If somehow he stays healthy and rattles off one or two SB wins in the next few years [a minor miracle], then he would at least be worth discussing. Otherwise?
Huge McNair fan here as well, but no way unless he pulls a Jim Plunkett.

I don't recall questioning whether AP was the official vote of record  But I stand by the fact that Cunningham has enjoyed more accolades and better career numbers than McNair up to this point in his career.

Are you sure about this? The NFL stopped picking its own MVP's after 1946 and I thought they had no officially sanctioned MVP award unless you count the Miller Lite Player of the Year as legit.

I'm also not disputing that Cunningham > McNair. He clearly had several seasons that far outclassed any that McNair has had (save maube McNair's co-MVP season). As I mentioned, the link I added was the NFL's link to MVP Award winners, so I'm thinking that that is their "official" stance on who's been an MVP.

Projecting his stats lets say he plays 2 more healthy seasons, optimisitcally I am hoping for more.

Completions he would have: 2768 making him 17th all time, right between Steve Young and Johnny U.

Passing Yards: Around 32980 making him 20th, right between Steve Young and Troy Aikman

Passing Tds: 206 making him 25th, between Randall Cunnhingham and Jim Everett

Rushing TDs: Its possible for him to break 50 rushing TD's being the first QB to do so, and the only QB in the top 50.

He is already one of the few qb's to have passed for over 25k and rushed for over 3k.

1+ League MVP

1+ AFC Championship

I say the HOF is a possibility, but I may be a bit optimistic.

QB HOFer is easy

You either have to lead one of the best teams of your era to multiple deep playoff runs with at least one SB (Montana, Young, Aikman, Bradshaw, Elway)

OR

Put up ungodly untouchable stats (Moon, Marino)

McNair is not the latter, so he'd have to compare with Montana, Young, Aikman, Elway etc and I don't see it.

He would need to add a Super Bowl to have a chance .Unfortunately it wont happen if he stays in Tennessee.
