Dec 11 Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during Week 14 and his status will be re-evaluated Wednesday, Dec. 13.

This is th first I have heard of Smith getting injured..anyone see this?

I remember seeing him limp a little bit after a play in the 4th quarter, but it seems like he went back out on the field again, and then when the game was just out of reach he didn't go back out. He didn't seem in pain or disgruntled on the sideline over it. Right now I'm not too worried about it.

Here is part of an interview with Smith yesterday:

Near the end of Sunday's game, there was Smith, standing on the sideline as Carolina made its last, desperate push for a touchdown into the red zone with a receiving corps that included seldom-used Taye Biddle.

Coach John Fox said that was because Smith was exhausted and had "tweaked" an ankle.

"Second or third quarter, maybe," Smith said when asked how it happened. "It got a little colder. I kept going and it got a little stiff."

He said he wasn't worried about it keeping him out of Sunday's game with Pittsburgh.

"Nah, I'm all right," he said with a hint of a smile.

"I'm a tough little cookie."

My buddy with Warrick Dunn, Donovan McNabb, Darrell Jackson and Jerius Norwood will love to hear this. :lmao:

It doesn't sound too bad though. Right now I'm just imagining him tweaking it even more this week and screwing owners in the championship game for the second year in a row. :o
