The New York Giants received news that Steve Smith, their wide receiver, will be out until December. Smith suffered a torn pectoral muscle that will force him to miss “a few more” games but some sources are hoping that he’ll be able to play on the first Sunday of December against Washington.

So what are the odds he comes back so soon? Anyone out there have any experience in treating or having this type of injury before?

Happened to Ricky Williams a couple years ago, effectively ended his season but it was late in the year. I don't remember the exact circumstance but you can look it up.

Your right, I remember that now. I think Ricky's injury was a complete tear though.

If I told my wife I'd be home sometime in December, she'd have my #### piled up in the front yard before I'd even be able to find the tooth she'd knock out. Do we know if it's Dec 1st or Dec 31st?

Not to state the obvious, but it's an injury and we never really know.From what I've heard, I'd expect him back early December, especially considering that Barden is now or IR making Smith an ever bigger need back in the lineup, but most NFL coaches are practiced some sort of disinformation these days soRamMan said:
