Coach spin to avoid a riff. Everyone will take SJax hammy...OK that makes sense. He has an excuse every time he does stuff like this.Reports coming in now that it was partially due to a hamstring.

You said this #### has happened in the past with other players. Enlighten me please. I'm curious.Coach spin to avoid a riff. Everyone will take SJax hammy...OK that makes sense. He has an excuse every time he does stuff like this.Reports coming in now that it was partially due to a hamstring.

$0, since thanks to FBG, I snagged him this AM.If I hadn't I might shell out 20%.I wasn't the first = /.Alright so for all SJax owners, what % of your FAAB budgets are you going to be spending to acquire Daryl Richardson. You just gave him a nickname... kiss of death bro.So you think after what Sjax has done for the franchise and after not exhibiting any real signs of slowing down, he's going to be outright benched for the rest of the season.. for spiking the ball? Don't get me wrong Drich looked good, but Sjax looked just as good ripping off large chunks on all but one carry before getting benched. I find it hard to believe he's going to be riding the pine for the rest of the season just like that. Fisher would have to be a complete and total ****.SJax likely to remain the starter but he becomes a must have handcuff.Having SJax as my RB2 I feel like I'm forced to make a really strong play to pick up Richardson now just to protect my investment.

Seems pretty harsh to bench a guy the entire rest of the game don't you think?
This actually worries me more than if it was a benching.According to Sam Bradford interview on Sirius post game, S Jax was out due to groin strain. He actually laughed when asked if he was out because of the penalty.
They are saying that he could have gone back into the game, but didn't want to risk further injury.According to Sam Bradford interview on Sirius post game, S Jax was out due to groin strain. He actually laughed when asked if he was out because of the penalty.
With how close the game was seems like he would have been back in if he was able. They are saying that he could have gone back into the game, but didn't want to risk further injury.According to Sam Bradford interview on Sirius post game, S Jax was out due to groin strain. I believe Fisher said himself that SJax could have played through it. So, Fisher is lying either way you say? With how close the game was seems like he would have been back in if he was able. They are saying that he could have gone back into the game, but didn't want to risk further injury.According to Sam Bradford interview on Sirius post game, S Jax was out due to groin strain. If Fisher said it, probably not. "They" was ambiguous, though, and I interpreted to mean the media.I believe Fisher said himself that SJax could have played through it. Nah. Why would he bench his best player to send a message and then make up some story afterward? That would be sending the message that he was wrong or isn't man enough to own his decision.Coach spin to avoid a riff. Everyone will take SJax hammy...OK that makes sense. He had it out for Vince Young, don't care about Young post Titans, he locked McNair out before trading him, he's slimy on a lot of levels. He ran Eddie George into the ground, it would not be a total shock to me if he treats SJax bad and uses him as an example to set the tone. These games are loaded with sideline reporters and media...if it was a hammy injury and he wasn't coming back, booth would have known IMO.Nah. I am guessing people assumed it was a benching and never asked the right questions.
I am guessing people assumed it was a benching and never asked the right questions. This is what I'm saying. We're almost always made aware of any injury that causes a player to miss any time during a game. Anyone who watched the game, looked at SJax's stance and facial expressions could tell what was going on. I feel like they are trying to insult my intelligence by telling me his hamstring/groin or whatever is injured. I'm not buying it.These games are loaded with sideline reporters and media...if it was a hammy injury and he wasn't coming back, booth would have known IMO.Nah. In the same regard, wouldn't we have heard that he was benched from the media? This is what I'm saying. You don't see how this situation is even the least bit sketchy? My best guess is so no unnecessary drama surrounds the team after a big win.Why would they make up a story? Why would Bradford lie? Why would Sjax go along with it? Unless of course it is true.
I don't believe in conspiracy theories. If they say he had a minor injury I believe them.In the same regard, wouldn't we have heard that he was benched from the media? This is what I'm saying. If you watch Fisher's post game presser, he answers it. It was a groin strain. They have video of him getting it checked on the sideline.Anyone with any real intel here? Hammie, groin, benched?
They said during the broadcast that reports from the sideline were that S-Jax was fine physically. Not sure where they got that info but they clearly were under the impression that S-Jax was physically able to play.Something seemed odd b/c a benching for the entire game would have definitely been an overreaction and S-Jax had his gloves in his pants and his helmet was nowhere to be found. Makes more sense now that they're saying it was the groin. But it was just an odd game- from the officiating, to S-Jax, to the chippiness after the whistle, to the bonehead play by Morgan. Just an odd odd game. The question now is how much the groin will effect S-Jax moving forward and how much Richardson will eat into his touches.'Clarkmeister said:It's bizarre that there wasn't a report from the sideline at any point. It's 100% standard for the sideline reporter to be like "ummm, guys, what's SJax's status?"
And his replacement nearly fumbled the game away. Steven Jackson not playing wasn't the reason the Rams won today.'BusterTBronco said:He's benched and he should stay benched. This was the Ram's best game in years.
Young was ridiculous. You do recall that his college coach that he adored was extremely displeased with him as well, right? McNair and him loved each other. It couldn't have been more obvious at the funeral or the stories from it. They didn't ...I don't know if locking him out was Fisher's choice...hold ill will toward each other, why should you? And Eddie wanted to be run into the ground...that's what happens to sled-dog RBs like him. And yes I'd totally expect Jax to be run into the ground too.'Ministry of Pain said:He had it out for Vince Young, don't care about Young post Titans, he locked McNair out before trading him, he's slimy on a lot of levels. NopeWas the groin or hammy wrapped while sjax was on the sideline? After the game?
Thanks - his explanation didn't make sense to me.If the call was overturned and they ruled he broke the plane, the TD would count. I'd guess the penalty would then be enforced on the kick off.two minutes inhttp://www.stlouisrams.com/media-center/videos/Rams-Postgame-Press-Conference/f21e0c09-1078-4039-8852-e4606424ae7e#watch
Fine, but why make an example of Jackson? By all accounts, he has been a great player, leader, citizen, etc. And that's the guy you bench to make an example? Especially considering Fisher should have challenged the play prior to Jackson's spiking the football.some Rams fans need to acknowledge that Fish is going to have to set the tone and make examples of some and ...he didn't inherit the Superbowl Champs. Changes do need to happen.
As I'm reading around different message boards, everyone is calling bull#### on the injury. Even in that interview up top, Fisher looks like he's trying to save face.I don't know if you guys watched the game but the announcers were saying the whole time Steven Jackson got benched from the spiking penalty the whole time. I mean if the injury was significant enough to bench the guy for the whole second half, wouldn't you take him into the locker room to assess the injury?
In the misunderstood scenario, Jackson made an error in judgement. Fisher would be making an example of him. So, that would be unfortunate that Fisher takes the blame since Jax made the error in judgement.I've followed Fish a long time. He's loyal to a fault, if anything. It seems Jax has earned his respect so I wouldn't worry here nor hit the WW for his backups due to some fictitious benching. (unless the groin injury is worse than expected)Ya gotta be kidding me if anyone thinks Haynesworth's, Pacman's, Finnegan's, Young's, or Britt's coach is going to bench someone for just a spike. If this was "make an example" then there was a buildup to it this week with lots of players misbehaving or with poor attitudes or...I mean cmon, Jax's spike doesn't even compare to what those guys did.I doubt any NFL coach, nevermind Fisher, benches a player for a spike. Tags isn't even commish anymore complaining of end zone celebrations. This was a bad tangent.Fine, but why make an example of Jackson? He doesn't do that.He didn't do it when he was head of the NFL competition committee and dealt with tough issues either. He's not new to the NFL. Fisher has admitted fault in so many pressers. In almost every, if not every, post game presser he is saying something he did wrong and that they can improve. This is not Shanahan playing games with RBs and injuries. As I'm reading around different message boards, everyone is calling bull#### on the injury. A groin injury is not x-rayed. Unless it was him in severe pain, an MRI wouldn't even be done unless there's a curious (or extra thorough) doc around.FF folks know Jax has injured his groin several times. He's a vet so if he says it's minor and the doc/trainer thinks so...lockerroom is unnecessary.I don't know if you guys watched the game but the announcers were saying the whole time Steven Jackson got benched from the spiking penalty the whole time. Rams reporter Howard Balzer said that when SJ came to the sidelines Fisher was quoted saying "did you like that? Why don't you watch the rest of the game".'Ministry of Pain said:These games are loaded with sideline reporters and media...if it was a hammy injury and he wasn't coming back, booth would have known IMO.'Sabertooth said:Nah.
