The bottom line here is that it's silly to call Jackson risky for any reason other than his health. I can see how people would be concerned about the back issues, but there are lots of threads around the SP where people are avoiding Jackson due to their fear of the team around him, which is odd given what we've seen the last few years.
With health out of the equation, Jackson is probably the least risky pick in the entire league, because he's the only one that's shown he can consistently be a top 10, if not top 5 performer on a putridly awful team. Where will Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, or DeAngelo Williams be if the Titans, Ravens, or Panthers suddenly become completely inept on offense to the levels that the Rams have been the last three years? We have no idea, because none of them have ever been faced with that. The same goes for virtually every other running back in the league. Except Steven Jackson, who has proven he can still perform at a top level even in that situation.
