The offensive line played really poorly in 2013. Matthews should be an immediate upgrade. Without Gonzalez it sounds like they will run more 3WR sets. They also may throw to the RB more.
Not to mention 30-40 recpts. If you look at his and Roddy's numbers once they both got healthy, they both were solid fantasy plays. With Julio out there, I think Jackson can do what Turner did 2 years ago which is about 900 and 10. That's significantly better than where he is going in drafts (around RB 30). Turner finished 18th that last year in Atlanta for a frame of reference.
yeah, I think this is right on the money, but I drafted him last year, so maybe I'm just stubbornly trying to prove myself right. The offensive line played really poorly in 2013. Steven Jackson is out indefinitely with a left hamstring injury, but is expected to be ready for Week 1.
Coach Mike Smith claimed Tuesday the injury isn't serious, but was vague on Jackson's timeline, only saying he's expected to be ready for Week 1. It's not the same hamstring that cost S-Jax four games in 2013, but it's up for debate whether that's good or bad news. No matter how serious, it's a big blow for a player who had reportedly looked "rejuvenated." It's a reminder that Jackson's advancing age (31) and recent health woes make him a dicey RB2. Rookie Devonta Freeman is worth a draft flier in all formats.

The problem of course being that he's going to be questionable every week and might leave several games early. If you take him in the 7th and he plays, say, 12 games at his 2013 end of season productivity (rb2 caliber iirc) seems that would be a bargain especially if you avoid rb early as I'm planning to do.
If Atlantas ol and offense recover you could be looking at a Michael Turner-esque season.
lol. I wouldn't draft him with a gun to my head. Let someone else deal with this headache.Rotoworld:

So he's saying there's a chance that he could increase productivity? I'm buying!Adam Rank's hard-hitting analysis on NFL Fantasy Live a little while ago:

I think you're spot on. I might start him over Chris Johnson if Gerald McCoy ends up being out.Is anyone flexing SJax this week? ATL is home and finally favored on a short week. TB is dealing with some key injuries up the middle. If ATL goes up, I can see him seeing more volume than he did vs. NO and CIN (say 15-17 touches) and punching one in at the GL. He's been averaging 4.3YPC on the season, he's looked better than last year. I'm thinking 15/65/1 with a little room to improve on that depending on the dynamic of the game. Too optimistic?
the main problem is that he is a plodder that sucks. he really doesnt even belong on the football field, he looks so bad. im stuck with him, hopefully for only this week, one league due to all the injuries and whatnot. The problem of course being that he's going to be questionable every week and might leave several games early. If you take him in the 7th and he plays, say, 12 games at his 2013 end of season productivity (rb2 caliber iirc) seems that would be a bargain especially if you avoid rb early as I'm planning to do.

Not a rhetorical question, have to you actually watched SJax run at all this year? He's far from explosive but also doesn't look very plodding either. Close to half of his carries last week were for 5 or more yards. He's running well and the stars are aligning for a decent game this week (TNF, key injuries to TB). I think he has real flex value.the main problem is that he is a plodder that sucks. he really doesnt even belong on the football field, he looks so bad. im stuck with him, hopefully for only this week, one league due to all the injuries and whatnot. The problem of course being that he's going to be questionable every week and might leave several games early. If you take him in the 7th and he plays, say, 12 games at his 2013 end of season productivity (rb2 caliber iirc) seems that would be a bargain especially if you avoid rb early as I'm planning to do.

If Tampa's Gerald McCoy doesn't play (as expected), Steven Jackson goes from unstartable to RB3-4 status. TB was a wreck without him in 2011.
If he's EVER going to turn back the clock it's tonight.we'll see some Action Jackson tonight... Steve Smith SR style for all the Doubters
considering hes on TB im not sure how much that will help you in your analysisThinking about throwing him in over Bell (vs Carolina) tonight, Rainey already insterted….Hard to have faith in this guy though. Have not seen enough ATL games to know how he has looked. Gut says it is his night
I feel the same way. I didn't have the guts to start him though. This is it. This is the game that will determine if I keep him on the roster. The perfect storm is brewing for him, if he can't seize this opportunity and have a bad game, adios!
I don't even think this is on the level of casual box score scouting.the main problem is that he is a plodder that sucks. he really doesnt even belong on the football field, he looks so bad. im stuck with him, hopefully for only this week, one league due to all the injuries and whatnot. The problem of course being that he's going to be questionable every week and might leave several games early. If you take him in the 7th and he plays, say, 12 games at his 2013 end of season productivity (rb2 caliber iirc) seems that would be a bargain especially if you avoid rb early as I'm planning to do.

the main thing that's been annoying me this year is that he's been getting his ppr points vulturedSo the game script is going exactly how I had imagine. Lot's of good things happening minus Quizz getting all the RZ work.
Yeah, regardless of what happens ATL seems set on keeping SJax fresh. This 21-0 lead is awful news for us right now though.the main thing that's been annoying me this year is that he's been getting his ppr points vulturedSo the game script is going exactly how I had imagine. Yeah and Quizz has looked pretty ineffective. Freeman just got blown up on pass pro. I understand ATL's reasoning, I'd want SJax fresh for the stretch too but if the dudes running well I feel like you should feed him.Kind of rough seeing him break tackles and carry defenders only to come out at the goaline and watch the backups get stuffed.
He might not get more than the 7 touches he already has tonight.Yeah and Quizz has looked pretty ineffective. Freeman just got blown up on pass pro. ETA: He'll never get 20 touches a game, including tonight.
I'm 100% afraid that you're correct. He might not get more than the 7 touches he already has tonight.Yeah and Quizz has looked pretty ineffective. Freeman just got blown up on pass pro. that's why I was banking on those ppr points that it doesn't look like we're getting.Yeah and Quizz has looked pretty ineffective. Freeman just got blown up on pass pro. Yeah I think he got 3 targets the first game, 1 last week. Surprisingly, Freeman leads the team with 5 targets, Quizz only has 2.that's why I was banking on those ppr points that it doesn't look like we're getting.Yeah and Quizz has looked pretty ineffective. jackson's biggest hurdle is they've got to be one of the passingest teams in the league
Quizz has negative yards, Freeman got blown up in pass pro and got Ryan sacked and Smith has a fumble. SJax looks like the better head of the four headed attack right now haha.well, maybe that fumble helps him going fwd
No, it's 2 1/2 games. If you easily would've taken this situation when you drafted him, I hope it was in the last few rounds- he isn't getting receptions or goal line work.Relax, it's only one half and a blowout. Overall, the outlook is good, as far as the season goes. I easily would've taken this situation when I drafted him; it's favorable, all things considered.
hope you are watching this game. hes so unreal slow its funny.I don't even think this is on the level of casual box score scouting.the main problem is that he is a plodder that sucks. he really doesnt even belong on the football field, he looks so bad. im stuck with him, hopefully for only this week, one league due to all the injuries and whatnot. The problem of course being that he's going to be questionable every week and might leave several games early. If you take him in the 7th and he plays, say, 12 games at his 2013 end of season productivity (rb2 caliber iirc) seems that would be a bargain especially if you avoid rb early as I'm planning to do.

this is more like the stuff people have said about andre johnson te last 3 yrs just because some dudes always need to have an opinion about everything.
