Any early word?
taken from another thread.Looks like he has responded well to practicing on Saturday and today. Wednesday will be the next test. Per the conversation above, Haslett still seems to be adopting the "Show Me" attitude.

-- Running back Steven Jackson (thigh) was able to run during workouts on Saturday and Monday, and Haslett was optimistic that he would able to participate in practice on Wednesday.
“I’m optimistic, but I’m not really sure what that means because we’ve said that for the last three or four weeks, but he did look good Saturday and today running,’’ Haslett said.
I have him, but even if he's declared 100%, I wouldn't start him over Turner (duh) or LT - at least not yet.But if he goes off, I could see myself benching LT for him down the stretch.IF he does look like he is starting on Sunday, from a fantasy standpoint:IS ANYBODY STARTING HIM?and if you are, I'd like to hear why and who you are sitting?(I have SJ too and trying to figure this mess out.)
IF he gets at least 2 full practice days, I'd be starting him over the likes of Jlewis, Walter and Cotchery in the flex. Wouldn't bench Turner or CJ3 v DET.Nemesis said:IF he does look like he is starting on Sunday, from a fantasy standpoint:IS ANYBODY STARTING HIM?and if you are, I'd like to hear why and who you are sitting?(I have SJ too and trying to figure this mess out.)
Trent Green was a turnover machine last week, and with the OL as awful as it is opposing teams are going to spend a lot of time in the STL backfield, spamming the QBs and meeting the RBs at the line of scrimmage. Even if Bulger is back on the field this week, I doubt he makes it through the game as he is getting teed off on every other play - the Rams are 4th worst in the league with 37 sacks allowed to date (over 3 per game), and the QBs get hit way more than that. Jackson is a great looking back when healthy but even he can't do 2 things at once (run block and run the ball) - plus, he'll be rusty and out of synch after his long layoff. The Rams are tied with the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers for 2nd-least rushing TDs in the NFL, with 5 - 3 scored in week 7 vs. Dallas - only the Bengals are worse with 4 to date. Finally, how motivated can he be to fight through the next 5 weeks with ZERO hope for a playoff berth? I'm not sure about the incentive clauses in his contract, but even if he needs to hit some triggers for bonuses, he's also got to think about staying healthy enough to play again next year. My .02.It's going to be really hard for me to start him. Bulger's status is iffy, Pace is out, and S Jax could reinjure at anytime. I consider him out for the year at this point as far as my fantasy team goes.
This is where I am with this.....I am going with MJD/Turner until he gets a game under his belt and comes out healthy on the other sidezamboni said:I have him, but even if he's declared 100%, I wouldn't start him over Turner (duh) or LT - at least not yet.But if he goes off, I could see myself benching LT for him down the stretch.Nemesis said:IF he does look like he is starting on Sunday, from a fantasy standpoint:IS ANYBODY STARTING HIM?and if you are, I'd like to hear why and who you are sitting?(I have SJ too and trying to figure this mess out.)
Why? I watched MJD run one in from the 5 yard line against the Lions and no defender even layed a hand on him.....and it was a inside handoff. If healthy, I'm playing him over Lendale in one league.
3 carries last week for Lendale, followed by the press conference statements make me a little hesitant to start him this week. Why? hes going to be back at the perfect timeNeil Beaufort Zod said:If you're hoping to get Jackson down the stretch, the news looks pretty positive. He went through a vigorous workout, has a good shot to practice Wednesday and could play this week. The Miami game would be to shake the rust off (and isn't a great matchup anyway) so he could be ready for a nice run of games at the end of the year (Arizona, then Seattle and San Francisco at home with Atlanta in week 17 if it matters). Right now, that's about as good as it's going to get for Jackson owners.
I think for Jamal Lewis he's a great buy low.I've been offered Jackson for Jamal Lewis (who's been on my bench behind my other RBs, Addai, Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams & Thomas Jones). Is Jax a good buy low opportunity right now?
it's a complete crapshoot, if you're a gambling man I may do it considering St Louis's fantasy playoff schedule and if you can get Pittman you may be OKI've been offered Jackson for Jamal Lewis (who's been on my bench behind my other RBs, Addai, Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams & Thomas Jones). Is Jax a good buy low opportunity right now?
Absolutely! Lewis plays only on 1st and 2nd down, Harrison is getting about every 3rd series, and his schedule is brutal. Jackson could win you your playoffs. Lewis is garbage.zallen said:I've been offered Jackson for Jamal Lewis (who's been on my bench behind my other RBs, Addai, Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams & Thomas Jones). Is Jax a good buy low opportunity right now?
I dealt SJax in a dynasty league for MJD and a high 2nd round pick before last week's game. Sorry to see him go, but with the playoffs coming up, two years of injury problems, and IMO iffy status the rest of the year (just as likely to re-injure himself as to break out with stud numbers), I'll take the younger (by 2 years) MJD for the future and take my chances down the stretch with him this year.I'm still a SJax fan, so good luck to you guys still hoping for him (well, and to me too, as I still have him in another league). I hope he comes on strong. But the point of the post is to say that I think you can do much better than Lewis if you want to deal Jackson in dynasty. He's only 25 and a top 10 dynasty RB, probably top 5. In redraft, it really depends on how much faith you put in his health the rest of the year. I don't trust it enough to put my playoff chances on it.Hue G said:it's a complete crapshoot, if you're a gambling man I may do it considering St Louis's fantasy playoff schedule and if you can get Pittman you may be OKzallen said:I've been offered Jackson for Jamal Lewis (who's been on my bench behind my other RBs, Addai, Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams & Thomas Jones). Is Jax a good buy low opportunity right now?
I don't know if you'll get much more than Jamal Lewis type RB for him right now in a redraft unless you can find someone that had him toward the end of the year last year and he helped them win their league or something.I dealt SJax in a dynasty league for MJD and a high 2nd round pick before last week's game. This is why I traded for him, and I'd like to see him go through a game and be able to practice the next week. He could win some championships for owners with those two matchups.Assumming he practices and plays, he might not be that bad of a play this week. Here are some positives .. (and yes I had to struggle to find positives)
1. Playing at home, both Bulger and Jackson do better, inside, on the faster surface.
2. Miami is giving up nice receiving yardage to RBs. (Faulk 6-52, Hillis 7/116, Lynch 5/34, Mcgahee+Rice 4/93, not much though from Sea and Oakland RBs)
3. Miami last three games against the run ( NE - 23/108/2, Oak 20/70/0, Sea 20/118), they are not shutting down RB's
*note, i did pick and choose some stats above to highligt the positives.
IF (big if) The rams can at least keep it close for 3 quarters at home, and SJ gets 20 touches (15+5), he should be able to break 100 combined yards. If he manages to find the endzone (someone may have to point the Rams in the right direction for that to happen) he is a decent start.
I do hope he plays this week, I would really like to be able to put him in the lineup come week 15, 16 (Both at home, Sea & SF), and I believe this game will be a much better indication of whether or not he can be productive than next week on the road against ARZ.
Quarterback Marc Bulger, running back Steven Jackson and left tackle Orlando Pace all took part in practice on Wednesday.

Do they make them practice on Thanksgiving?RenegadeGM said:any word on Thursday's practice?
At least he has a goal.Looks like Steven is a go......Steven Jackson (thigh) got through the second phase of his preparation to return to the lineup Sunday vs. Miami. Jackson stepped up his work Thursday, taking most of the snaps with the first team. Friday’s practice will determine Jackson’s availability for the game.“I’ve had two good days of practice and no major setbacks,” Jackson said. “The leg is a little sore, but . . . things are going in the right direction.”Jackson, who has missed four of the last five games, is itching to get back on the field. “I’m very anxious to get out there,” he said. “It’s been a long, long season, so to be able to finish strong, that would be ideal. And hopefully get some more wins. I’d love to go out 5-0.”
Royal was listed as questionable to play this week because of his toe, then shortly after Roto had him as likely to play. Royal's biggest asset is his speed and it was mentioned by roto that he may not have that speed because of his toe. I can't take the chance in playing Royal and get burned by a 2 rec.-20 yard day or him leaving early in the game like he's already done. I put Lance Moore in place of Royal.I'm also riding with Steven Jackson this week. I don't always agree with the general rule of thumb that you never sit your studs. I feel taht rule of thumb is based on the condition that studs have the opportunities. So my adjustment to that rule is never sit a player with opportunities. SJAX, with as much as he's involved in that offense, has plenty of opportunity to rack up rushing and receiving totals....td or not.I'm leaning toward playng him over Eddie Royal (need fantasy points to win).
