Does anyone know Steven Jackson's status? He looked great early in the game; he had his amazing burst back. However, he was not in the game for any of the crucial 4th qtr series at the end of the game. The announcers kept said that they had received word form the Rams' sideline that SJAX was ok.

If that is the case, then why wouldn't SJAX be in their for those crucial 4th qtr series. Does Haslett have it in for him?

I read that Haslett thought he was a bit tired after the long layoff and that Jackson's leg was bothering him.

from a fantasy perspective going forward for SJax- as long as he came out healthy, shook off some rust- I'm happy with yesterday.

from rotoworld..

Steven Jackson denied coach Jim Haslett's post-game claim that "he was gassed" in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.

"No, I wasn't gassed," said Jackson. "I had 21 carries and felt great. So, it wasn't me and my conditioning. I wish (Haslett) would stop saying that." S-Jax went on to say that it was "definitely frustrating" to be pulled in the fourth quarter of a close game and that he didn't understand the move. It sounds like he'll play all of next week's contest against the Cardinals.

I don't see the problem here. Haslett said he was going to give S JAX 17-18 carries before the game, he touched the ball 22 times.

Things are looking up, if you ask me.

I agree. One has to think that Haslett's move a month ago to keep Jackson in for one carry too long had to be in the back of his mind.

I agree with Haslett. I don't care what this guy says he's the definition of injury prone. It's not freak accidents like a guy stepping on his toe and breaking it or getting a helmet in the ribs. Its always his calf is strained, his groin is pulled, his thigh is tight... this guy has had more injuries then I have hair on my head.. and I'm no where near bald. Next season they need to hit FA or the draft and find a good compliment to him... because it's clear his body cannot withstand the beating of a full load.

To be fair, he did carry the load for 2 full years in 2005 (254 carries) and 2006 (a whopping 346 carries) before breaking down last year and this. Injuries happen - especially to RBs - but it's his willingness to play through the pain is what seems to separate him from the LTs, Gores and Portises of the world.

i'm just hoping this doesn't lead to some insubordination talk by Haslett.

I also agree with one of the posters that said Haslett had the 1 carry to many against the Cowboys in the back of his mind.
