Yahoo says swelling on his knee and he had an MRI ... Why isn't anything posted about this?

Knee was inflamed a little after the game...so it begins. My money league team is literally falling apart before my eyes. Let's hope it's nothing.

(FFChamps) Steven Jackson underwent an MRI on his knee Monday, according to Mike Sando's (ESPN) twitter page.

Analysis: Jacksons knee checked out fine, and the stud running back should be good to go for Week 2 in a favorable match-up at Oakland.

this news was put out yesterday... and still didnt make headlines.

reason: probably nothing... running hard. getting hit. doing it 20 times... my eyes are inflammed by just watching

he'll miss 2 days of practice, let a vet running back does... and tear up Oakland on sunday

If his knee was fine he wouldn't be getting an MRISpagnuolo went on to note that "they took an MRI" on Jackson's knee, adding that "he’ll be day-to-day. I think he’s alright."

(Rotoworld) Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo revealed Monday that Steven Jackson is day to day with an inflamed knee.

Analysis: The injury isn't serious, but could cause Jackson to be limited in Wednesday and/or Thursday's practices. He had 28 touches in Sunday's opener.

Unfortunately, even if Jackson were to be out, there doesn't seem to be a worthwhile handcuff. Seems like another year of Kenneth Darby and other scrubs.

guys if you drafted SJax and didn't expect this, you need to reevaluate things....

I drafted him in the late second, fully expecting after every game, that he would be "injured" and need to rest during the week (meaning: miss practice), to be ready for gametime... the guy is a beast. a monster. he doesnt play flag football, this guy invites contact.

all that said, exactly what I thought would happen, is happening... they want the guy rested. he IS their offense. week in and week out, he'll rest until late in the week and play Sunday.

Of course he can, like any player, be seriously injured... but this is, IMO, just post game boo-boo's for a heavy runner

 Yep. This has been Steven (not Stephen) Jackson's MO for a while.

You'd better get an MRI on your eyes.

This is not an injury and wouldn't be surprised if MRI was BS just to justify holding him out of practice all week. Right now SJax is the least of my worries (in a start 2QB flex where I rostered Stafford and Henne).

I'm probably in the minority, but I think Jackson owners might have a little more to worry about than "This is just Steven Jackson". Strikes me as one of those vague early season red flags that people wish they'd paid attention to. And before the flaming, I have no rational reason I think that. Just a gut reaction on my part.

First year Steven Jackson owner? Hes been my keeper his whole career so I'm used to this. He'll be fine.....for this week at least.

(RotoWire) Jackson (knee) was held out of practice on Wednesday as a precaution Howard Balzer of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat reports.

Analysis: He's expected to return to practice on Thursday. We're not too concerned about Jackson's status for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Steven Jackson (knee) returned to practice Thursday after resting on Wednesday.

Jackson "appeared to get a good amount of work," according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He's on track to start against the Raiders in what should be one of the juiciest matchups of his season. Confidently start him as a RB1 this week.

SJax is about to go on a rollll. Oakland, washington , seattle, detroit, san diego, tampa bay, and carolina before the bye. The funny thing is, out of those teams, Detroit probably has the best front 4. If he stays healthy for this stretch, I expect 800-850 total yards and 5+ tds.

Inflamation. MRI, missing practice. After only one game? Anyone acting like this isn't at least a small concern is kidding themself.

SELL in dynasty leagues, GET OUT NOW!!!
dynasty owner here. been thinking of moving him.
I have been trying all offseason. I can't even get a decent offer for him. It is amazing how low people think of this guy. I would rather just hold on to him and run him into the ground.
If you own SJax, you gotta hold and play him imo. His perceived value is lower than his actual value right now imo, so I don't think selling is the way to go.

SJax dynasty owner since 2005. This is pretty much what I've gone through most weeks for the last couple years. I'm not saying he'll be golden and his knee is fine, but he always seems to have something scoped or an MRI or trainers looking at something or held out of practice. It's ulcer-inducing and most of the time he's good to go on game day. Sometimes he's not, though. There's going to be a lot of "day to day" with a couple of "game time decisions" thrown in, and maybe an inactive or two. God forbid if it's worse.

This should not come as a shock to any SJax owner, especially someone who redrafted him this year. This is why an undisputed #1 RB bell-cow in the age of RBBC slips to the end of the 1st, early 2nd round. Strap yourselves in, friends, and get comfortable because this is the way the ride's going.

I've been trying to shop SJax this whole offseason and I didn't get any credible offers so like others in this thread I hope to ride him until the wheels fall off.

He is recovering from offseason surgery. He will be fine.
FWIW, the surgery was on his back. The guy is a walking contusion for 16 weeks a year. On the plus side, Jackson doesn't seem to be timid or slowed down in any way and I'd think he'll see an increased number of receptions given the lack of options Bradford has to throw to.Tape him up and get that beast back out there!

I own him in a dynasty league, and I'ld be lying to you if I told you that I wasn't at all concerned about career longevity due to his injury history, playing style, and size (bigger RBs with physical styles generally = shorter careers).

However, he is one of the truly ELITE talents in the NFL, and if he had been playing for a contender rather than the hapless lambs over the last few seasons, then I believe he would be considered as part of the upper tier of fantasy RBs with CJ4.24, ADP, & MJD.

Considering he also is in the prime of his career (just turned 27), the Rams have improved the oline, upgraded at QB and blocking FB, then I'm ready to enjoy SJAX being the focal point of an up and coming offense for the next 2-3 seasons. Obviously there is always a chance that his body breaks down, and at some point that almost seems inevitable, but the talent/upside/situation is aligned to give SJAX a chance to deliver BIG TIME over the next couple of seasons at the very least. I won't be "selling", and if nervous owners are selling at discount, then I'm "buying".
