Stock Thread (20 Viewers)

I just see a lot of talking coming from CYDY.  And even the talking isn’t really making a dent in the negative slides. Maybe this is how it works in pharma stocks - as I mentioned I am a noob at this.

But something just isn’t sitting right with me. If they had just stuck with their HIV and cancer angles, I’m boning up all over this thing. But the Covid angle makes them look like they are grasping at straws and the other stuff is being pushed to the wayside by the buying public.

Just feels off to me. That’s all.
Several world-renowned immunologists believe that leronlimab might be a game changer for Covid.  Literally not one credible source has said one negative thing about leronlimab.  The only negative chatter has been from stock market people who specialize in shorting stocks.  CYDY is an easy target for them since it is an OTC with a buffoon for a CEO.  The bar for a drug to be considered useful against Covid is set incredibly low because the Covid drugs currently being pushed by the FDA only help marginally.  Helping Covid sufferers marginally is leronlimab's floor.  Leronlimab's ceiling is it being the drug of choice that people are going to fight to acquire.

As a noob to stocks but as an expert at sniffing out bullsheeeit, CYDY is starting to smell real rotten.
What is starting to smell rotten? I don't think anything that the short report talked about is 'new.' It is an OTC penny stock. I stopped buying when NP did the whole, warrant exercise so the company could pay its bills thing. The stock was between $1-$2 then. I bought some on the way up. But I always went in, eyes wide open. Perhaps they're doing shady stuff behind the scenes but during the run from $3 to $10, they weren't anywhere to be found. They weren't like the executives of MRNA or NKLA, trying to get on TV to talk about their company. The only thing he did was respond to a short attack from one of the most well-known short companies and that is pretty reasonable behavior.

Management can't really control the price action of a stock. Unless they're manipulating or in on the pumping, I don't know what has changed lately. The stock barely budged when they were paying for PR. That was always fishy but is it more fishy now that the stock is at $5.34?

CYDY has manufacturing agreement and distribution agreement in place. They are anticipating the results to be positive and remember they want both the m/m and severe trials to be unblinded at the same time. The agreements and the joint results will allow CYDY to present the strongest case to the FDA to forego Phase 3 trials and begin making the drug available to the public, if its determined by the FDA to meet an unmet need.

I think it only has to show its more effective than remdisivir and the other drug which I cant remember to pass that test.

Might be late but I'm wondering how you guys would attack this.

Say I have CYDY split 60% in my ROTH and 40% in brokerage account bought within the last month. Just in case CYDY doubles or quadruples up tomorrow how would you take out/reinvest your initial capital if you were intent to let the rest ride?

Mathematically, it seems the best way is to take out the capital from ROTH? However does it make more sense to preserve the ROTH funds because of the potential savings if CYDY really shoots up?

If it does shoot up, you'll be better off keeping it in the Roth IRA.

If it sinks, the capital loss is at least worth something in the regular brokerage. And if it's in your IRA, you can't "replace" those funds (assuming you max the IRA)

So it really just depends which risk you want to take.

In my opinion, the price ran up exceedingly fast on not a ton of news. Buyers outpaced sellers by a lot and the price tripled. The bear raid plus typical profit taking ensued. The price is now down 50% from those highs because sellers greatly outpaced buyers. Still feels a bit overpriced to me, around $5, but that gives you a sense of the level of expectation of the drug in the pipeline. It’s all pretty run of the mill and not rotten at all. This is how small biotech or pharma stocks behave.

Sorry, but this is way off the mark. Besides a small handful of folks, the positive chatter comes from those with an interest in the stock. Why do you think all the spam promotion from CYDY promoters is ignored by the mainstream media and credible experts in the field?

Frankly, it’s smelled rotten from the start and I pointed out several red flags long ago. Only more have been exposed also the way. They aren’t hard to find.

Good luck to those long the stock, I have no position so if you have profited, you’re ahead of me in that respect.

Is Dr Patterson a liar?

Is Dr Patterson a liar?
I don’t think so. Did he guarantee that drug will work, be approved and change the course of the virus? Or has he looked at lab results and is optimistic?

I think Dr Lazzari was the one who said it worked in every patient, even the ones that died.

I'm also pretty new to stocks. My approach with CYDY was to invest an amount I am willing to go to zero.  Therefore the recent roller coaster with the stock price has been pretty stress free.  It's  home run or bust for me.  If the stock moons I wont be buying lambos and yachts, but I'll still name my next car the chetmobile.

I don't think you want to take on the CytoDyn mafia, my friend...  :oldunsure:

Which ones that died? Which trial or emergency use? You’ve stepped down your game from trying to be an educator to now just throwing out crap.

Dexamethasone.  I don't think it has to be better than those two.  Neither of those really help the late stage disease.  If it shows efficacy for those who are really sick (remdesivir specifically didn't look at the sickest subset of patients) it may be put into practice very soon.

The one good thing about this drug that isn't in doubt is it's safety profile.  It doesn't appear to have a lot of side effects, which does make it easier to see it being greenlighted if the efficacy is there.

Same here and same approach. Could have doubled my money when it approached $10 and probably would have captured some gain if it stayed there longer than 30 seconds.

When this is over, there may be plenty to learn. Of course that’s up to each of us isn’t it.

Again, no real answer or content anymore. Drop a few negative comments with no links or anything and walk away. You were an interesting opinion back in the start but you’ve provided nothing other than little negative quips no better than than hacked up short letter. If you’ve got something interesting or think positive spin is a lie, then use that medical/drug background you mentioned at the start and give us something.

Why do you not short it if you are so confident, I would.

Tbh I like varied opinions
I do too, but he’s given nothing real for a while. I’m all for a discussion but he only came back when the stock faltered (definitely jumped too high). That makes me think he’s got an interest in pushing more fear and selling and not an interest in actually informing.

My daughter runs drug studies and she hasn't seen anything rotton in the reporting on that end but he seems to be talking about selling stock.

What’s hot this AM? I’m looking to get back into SE at some point. I missed the latest run up 🤦‍♂️ Hopefully there’s a pullback that makes me feel better about it.

@stbugs any pullback on amazon in your opinion? Over 3100 in pre-market. This is nuts. I had hoped for 3100 in 2022. Was hoping for 5000 in 2025-2027. I don’t know what to think anymore. When I buy a stock I try to plot out long-term projections but pointless with this now.

All I really want to know is if @chet is still at equilibrium. That’s last I recall seeing, but would love a confirmation... That would put some of my anxiety to rest.

Yeah, that's me as well.

I don't have a lot in it, so there really isn't any pain involved in this. I really hope it succeeds - the science part looks promising. It's all the other stuff swirling around that doesn't sit right. And since I'm a noob at this, maybe this is standard operating procedure.

It's been fun following and won't be selling it anytime soon.

Good question. Beginning of this year the targets were $2400 and I would have been ecstatic with that this year. That’s in the mirror. I did sell some once it hit $3000 as I’m more than happy with that level and I’ve got some expenses coming up (i.e. college). I won’t be selling more anytime soon, but a pullback would be based on the quarterly reports. Their businesses are doing well in this environment and I don’t see much to worry about. Walmart’s Prime offering is basically their Instacart (I think they use them) and their in store pickup/delivery is still just mediocre. I ordered a phone case 4 times on their web site last week while on vacation for same day pickup. It was cancelled 3 times due to not being in stock, but seeing as how they gave me an iPhone 11 Pro case instead of the 11 case I ordered (I double checked) in try 4, to all the cancellations may have been manual mistakes.

At this point, I don’t have a feeling on where they are heading. I’d think they’ll stagnate for a bit. They ran through 2k, but it was stuck there for a year and a half. I think this run up will get stuck here for a bit and maybe go as low as 2500 if the overall stock market dips. I just can’t imagine it marching much more at this point. I think all stocks will be pausing again for a bit.

He said he had no position.
I don’t trust random folks online. His early posts seemed intelligent but no more so than just some simple googling could find. Nothing since then so I take all of his posts with a grain of salt. Most experts in here tend to stay experts not devolve.

So then which credible source has negative things to say?

You responded to his post and completely ignored what he said.

I might jump back in today for a little bit of a "loss".  Taking out my original investment and buying back 20K.  I'll probably lose about 800 shares from where I was yesterday.  Hoping for an open that dips a little.

Yep. I don’t mind dissenting opinions but he’s gone from espousing medical info at first to just random attacks with no real substance or responses. Just an I’m really busy today. I’m busy too, but I’ll try and answer a question raised and if I’m that busy I’m not going to be posting about a stock I have no stake in at all.

Substance?

I completely agree with Adam’s take

LOL everyone is talking about dumping their #CYDY.  @chet is gonna come in here and hit us with a #notselling and everyone is going to start talking about buying again.

How do Dr Otto Yang of UCLA, Dr. Manisha Juthani of Yale, and Dr. Harish Seethamraju of Montefiore have an interest in the stock?  Can you name one credible source that has criticized leronlimab in any matter?

LRNZ ‽

not many ETFs open 13% higher. Or gain that much in a day.

Edit - well that was weird. Shot up over 40 at the open, now back to 36. (Still not bad for an ETF, much more reasonable)

You're welcome to tell us more about maraviroc, we like learning. But if you're connected to ViiV, or Pfizer, or otherwise to this drug, you should tell us at this point.
It is odd that he joined in February and most of his posts are only in this thread.

The guy that's a known biotech shorter??
He’s been adamant that he’s not, but who could know. Doubt he’s going to change opinions here so don’t know why he would waste his time.

edit: thought you were referring to the poster

AI & Deep Learning ETF, I didn't know this existed.  Interesting
I bought in a month ago, only 100 shares in a buy and hold forever move. I might add more. It's been a steady but not stellar climb so far. 14% in a month isn't bad, but there's risk of course.

Word is lots of side effects for that drug.  When discussing it's positives please comment on that, as well.
