My main conclusion on BTC - I’ve arrived at the decision that it’s more risky to not own some than the risk of tulip bulb.

I mean we one more 10 bagger away from half a million a coin.  It’s gone from $5 to 45k in 10 years.  It’s not that outrageous and now that Wall Street is in they may take it to much higher.

not going “all in” but got to have some.

I was a BTC skeptic until 2 weeks ago.  I bought the dip and am up to half a coin on my way to a full coin in the next few weeks (I hope).

My big fear was always in it never being adopted beyond criminals, drug dealers and gamblers.  Now a more wretched hive has entered the space, Wall Street.  Greyscale PayPal square Tesla micro strategy all invested to significantly invested.  Micro strategy had a seminar on how to implement a BTC treasury and 7000 companies showed up including Disney and MGM.  Oracle is speculated to be next and for not shoddy reasons.  Anyone jumping in even in part is being rewarded by a valuation jump.

In my unprofessional opinion the days of needing to worry about waking up one morning and finding out BTC went Bennie baby or tulip bulb are becoming less and less.  The chances that this moons to six figures is increasing every day.

major milestones

1 continued adoption on wall st

2 municipal adoption for payments (city of Miami supposedly going to start taking it)

3 A Wall Street bank holds it.  May not be the bank of Citibank but city Corp due to fed rules.  IMHO this would be a game changer

4 - and admittedly we are years and decades away from this - the US treasury adopts it.  This would be gigantic and signal major cha te to the dollar as reserve currency.  This is admittedly pie in the sky and decades out
gosh darn, pal. Well said.

For those in $NGA. Apparently we're in the electric tractor business now. Yay?

I read some DD on this.  I'm in for a tiny amount for a long term hold.  Love it!  Apparently AMZN also bought some products from these folks.

I sold my position in C today.  Had the stock for 10 years and only up 58%.  Was a small holding, maybe 2%.

Time to move on from some of my older investments which aren't any better than my 401k.

TRUFF is interesting.  Out of no where their volume is now over 2m.  Any idea what is going on here?  What do you like about them?
I've posted on TRUFF before but the biggest selling point IMO is the team that they are assembling.

Bruce Linton was the founder of Canopy Growth and he is their top adviser.  Linton has already taken a company where regulations were not clear and turned it into one of the most successful Cannabis companies.  He has the chops to navigate this environment.

TRUFF already has product that they are selling in the Netherlands.  They at least have a revenue stream.  I'm not going to pretend that it's enough at this point but at least they have money coming in to help support some of their investment.

They have a former health minister from Canada as a Senior Adviser.  Having political connections is going to be key and I do believe that Canada will be their first venture into North America.

Right now, TRUFF is focused on recreational and countries where the laws are more ambiguous.  The Caribbean is a focus and some select countries with looser laws will be the next phase of expansion to get their product in the market.

Still the same

UVXY looks like tis trying to make a run. Pretty much resistance in the 10.40s, but if it breaks through solidly, it could take a nice ride up.

I had C for a bit, not 10 years, but struggled to hold it any longer.  Some of these bank stocks just don't move enough or get me excited, but I want exposure and think they will continue to rebound the next few years.  I transferred what I had in C and JPM to BNKU for the 3x leverage.  Only leveraged ETF I feel good about going long on.

MS Morgan Stanley 10.45%

GS Goldman Sachs Group Inc 10.34%

C Citigroup Inc 10.22%

JPM JPMorgan Chase & Co 10.15%

BAC Bank of America Corp 10.03%

PNC PNC Financial Services Group Inc 10.02%

SCHW Charles Schwab Corp 9.84%

USB U.S. Bancorp 9.63%

WFC Wells Fargo & Co 9.52%

Bitcoin is not a currency and will never be used that way. Stablecoins will be adopted eventually by these institutions though.

Given that banks are likely to go on a buyback binge this year, this seems like a safe bet. I have more than enough banking exposure though.

Oh, this is interesting. Yesterday one of the chart guys I follow on twitter mentioned that financials were ready for a breakout: https://twitter.com/allstarcharts/status/1359244241617182728

Might have to dabble in some BNKU.

Stems and Seeds...  Used to have a nice stash I saved for droughts or when I was jonesing during those poor highschool years.  And I still call total BS to the rumor that smoking beaners will make you sterile.

I wish I was allowed buy STMH's products, but the Texas Legislature will tax blue hair before they legalize gambling or cannabis. Not that LVS, among others, aren't trying.

Most of the companies on that ETF can be bought individually in the USA.

I'd like to have a few.  MMED is one I've been watching, would still like a pullback before adding.

TRUFF I really like and own but going to add a couple more.

LKYSF (numinus wellness) is one Im adding for sure
Just added LKYSF to go with TRUFF in my psychedelic portfolio. It might be way early in the game, as legalization in the states might take a long time, but we said the same thing about the cannabis market too.

I've been both a micro and macro doser for my adult life.  The effectiveness of this treatment will overcome the stigma sooner than later.

I think more people would be willing to give it a try than you would think.
Yeah, it's all relative too. I consider a third of a gram a micro dose, but my friend who goes deep with 5-7 grams considers my macro dose of 1.5 grams micro.

i have an old 401k  - ready to move it to a self - directed IRA - anyone have any recommendations about the best place to move it to?  TIA
I'm in the process of doing this right now.  401K was at Transamerica through former company and I just moved it into a rollover IRA at Fidelity.  I'm piecing my strategy together now. :oldunsure:

Lol.  Yeah, 1.5 grams is full blown trip for anyone.  7 grams and you're talking to your maker.

Fidelity works great. I’ve never had a trading issue but I don’t do options or margin although that likely won’t matter to you in an IRA.

I just rolled my wife’s old company IRA and it was a piece of cake. Open the rollover IRA and did a withdrawal at T. Rowe Price and Fidelity had a nice set of instructions on what to do and you could use the app to deposit the check. I figured I’d have to deposit that in person but the app could do it even though it’s made out to Fidelity for you.

Excellent DD, thank you.  For longer term holds I believe the leadership team is #1.  YEA IM TALKING TO YOU CYDY!!

Im a vanguard guy, Ive had a lot of success there.  That said, I have all my investments there outside my TD Ameritrade account (was originally a Scottrade account)

One of your stonk clowns convinced me to buy DHT Aug last year.  I'm about to break even, any reason to keep this POS?

I'm jealous you're getting to move your 401k.  I have a 401k for current job and rolled over IRA from my last job.  The current 401k started last year at 20x the size of the IRA (rolled over from a job I only worked at for a few years).

Looking at my 401k returns sitting in mutual funds for the last year against my IRA returns from the rolled over 401k of my last job is an exercise in frustration.  If I'd changed jobs a year ago even if it were for a huge paycut I'd have come out massively ahead being able to manage those funds instead of watching them languish in boring TRowe Price mutual funds.

Anyone know anything about SNDL specifically?  Yes its a pot stock, but other than that, why the crazy movement this past week?

Current rooster, no real order:

AAPL, CRM, ETSY, FVRR, FLGT, SE, AXON, SQ, TSCO, ABNB, LMND, GDRX, U, DKNG, MSFT, CRWD, PINS, STMH

Sold off OESX today for a 20% gain but I think still think it’s going to head to 14/15. The account it’s in has TSCO, SQ, SE, AXON, and ABNB and I’ll use profits for dips in those. Have a decent 11% cash position.
Thanks for this McBokonnon.

Started a position in PINS today.

Was at work at had a limit order for FLGT...it didn't hit and see its back up again LOL.

This is ME with my handling of FLGT.

I did get some CRSP on the dip though as a consolation prize I guess.

WallStreetBets' legion of day traders is turning its attention to cannabis stocks amid expectations that U.S. Democrats will push for decriminalization of the plant. Canadian cannabis companies have been some of the most discussed on the forum recently, according to Swaggy Stocks, which tracks mentions of company tickers on the Reddit group. Their shares have also experienced strong gains. New York-listed Tilray has been the most discussed on the group, receiving 2,570 mentions in the last 24 hours. Its shares have gained 130% in the week. One popular post on WallStreetBets described Tilray as the next GameStop. Aphria, which is planning to merge with Tilray, is up 70% week-to-date and received 2,040 mentions in the last day. Sundial Growers, the fourth most-discussed stock in the last 24 hours, is up 112% week-to-date. (william.horner@wsj.com) (END) Dow Jones Newswires February 10, 2021 11:04 ET (16:04 GMT)
