I think INTC reported that they're cancelling their dividend because there is no profits to pay out.Without even looking I'm guessing Intel stock is around $35? Been that way for decades.
This is a stock that should pay out a significant dividend.
And laying off 15k/15% of the workforce. It’s about as bad an earnings report you can have.I think INTC reported that they're cancelling their dividend because there is no profits to pay out.Without even looking I'm guessing Intel stock is around $35? Been that way for decades.

I hope you’re kidding because it closed AHs at $23.56. In 1997, it hit above $23. 27 years ago. Damn.Without even looking I'm guessing Intel stock is around $35? Been that way for decades.

Because each time they lose 18%, it’s 18% OF A SMALLER NUMBER!!!How is snap just not at zero now. We’ve been making the same down 18% since earnings jokes since 2021.Should have knownAnd AAPL, MELI, INTC....and ****ing SNAP.Oh **** it’s Amazon reporting day

She still gets to buy stock at a discount, right? I mean......it's safe. They have a massive pile of cash.
The rate cuts have absolutely nothing to do with the stock market. And while I thought 6-7 cuts were a bit much, I fully anticipate cuts to be coming starting in the summer and continuing through year end.
I think you'll start seeing the cracks in the economy sooner rather than later. Consumer debt is creeping higher. Higher mortgage rates are going to shut off the valve for cheap refi money. When consumer spending starts dropping (which it has already as seen in weaker January numbers), the economy will start slowing, which will lead to more layoffs (there are already plenty of layoffs planned at larger companies nationwide), and when the unemployment starts spiking that will be an issue.
Oh, and let's not forget one thing, whether you want to discuss it or not, there is something coming up in about 7-8 months and immense pressure will be put on the Fed to keep the economy humming (read lower rates).

Jane had her moment, you're just too young to remember.Intell is Jane Pauley
like the scene in Independence Day when David is in the Oval and opens his laptop.I happen to be on the SOXL page, and it looks like a countdown
Yep. Thankfully someone here, probably todem, convinced me to sell months ago.INTCIt is my understanding INTC has a catalyst coming later this year with a new chip. I also believe that NVDA already has their next generations of chips priced in. Honestly, I don't know a ton about AMD.Because I think AMD and NVDA are overpriced and INTC is fairly priced. Why not just get NVDA or AMD? Why make it difficult? Yield chasing?
That’s fair, but in this case I would just avoid
all of them and look somewhere else. Intel hasn’t demonstrated they can compete or are even close to being able to, so this just seems like a way of trying to force a chip trade just to do a chip trade.
Good luck. I have no faith in them.
Here’s a techie article about that catalyst: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-com...di-3-will-cost-half-the-price-of-nvidias-h100
Summary is that companies are actually building their infrastructure around NVDA products and those that aren’t (Amazon and Alphabet) are going in house. So, INTEL will be cheaper but will have to navigate all of that, in addition to (not in the article) not continuing to create inferior products.
This one is a little more positive: https://wccftech.com/intel-gaudi-3-...ound-15000-half-of-nvidias-blackwell-pricing/
Future fine and a scolding letter. But I’ll buy more if the market drops on it.DOJ investigation into NVDA.
Getting cash ready to buy lower. Semi sector feels like a repeat of the Summer/Fall of '22 and '23. I could be tripling my position from here if that happens.
Will probably be NVDA's chips that run the AI that will determine the fine amount and write the letter.Future fine and a scolding letter. But I’ll buy more if the market drops on it.DOJ investigation into NVDA.

Must be election time.CNBC talking a 70+% chance of 50 basis cut in September.
Well, not exactly. Their co-founder Gordon Moore was very innovative and brilliant and if you've ever heard of Moore's Law, well, that's him.How is Intel not better? I've been looking at laptops for my daughter for college and effing everything has "IntelInside!!!!"
Because they are not - never have been - innovative. They are the Chevrolet of tech. Very reliable, sell a bunch of product, but nobody has ever gotten a boner over what Intel has or does. Sex sells and Intell is Jane Pauley.
Market reaction definitely seems to be that the Fed made the policy error it had been avoiding thus far. Should have added more duration.I see...too many jobs is bad because rates won't get cut but not enough jobs is also bad because rates didn't get cut.
I thought about it but decided to play it safe and just buy some SPY instead.bought some AMZN.
Sometimes stonks go on sale. Today would be that day.Stonks stopped going up, wtf happened guys.
Have you tried unplugging the stonks and plugging them back in?Stonks stopped going up, wtf happened guys.
Was a matter of time. With how fast they raised interest rates, it’s finally being felt.Looks like we’ve finally shifted in the market from bad economic news being good news to bad news being bad news.
I hate buying on Fridays.I've been buying today, too
Very fair, they did have their day and yes, I'm not taking into account their history. They've had some pretty bad leaders lately - I think one guy was ready to go ALL IN on drones. Not sure he lasted long.Well, not exactly. Their co-founder Gordon Moore was very innovative and brilliant and if you've ever heard of Moore's Law, well, that's him.How is Intel not better? They are much more a commodity company now and the industry has moved past them for years, and it accelerated the past 5 or so years. At this point you can probably kiss them goodbye.
And if you want to pinpoint their downfall, they went from a CEO from the greatest university in the country to Pat Gelsinger who may be on the shortlist of worst CEO's of all time. That's what happens when you downgrade to a STanford grad. Lesson to be learned there.
