Strategy at the turn (1 Viewer)

In many leagues (especially shark RB crazed leagues) the first 10 guys off the board will be as follows: LJ, LT, Alexander, Tiki, SJax, Brown, Rudi, Lamont, James, Caddy. So picking at #11 or #12 you the have the following options:

RB: Mcgahee, Westbrook, Portis (alot of question marks here)

WR: Smith, CJ, Holt, TO, Fitz, Moss

QB: Manning

It was widely agreed before the Portis injury that RB/WR was the way to go. Has this changed? Does WR/WR or WR/QB become a more viable option?

I can't see taking aQB here no matter what - unless the scoring for QB's is something unusually high. Personally, I would take the best wr and see if portis makes it back to me. If so great, if not, I would look to Mcghee and westy in that order. The question then becomes how comfortable are you in taking a second wr, knowing that you then have to take many rb's over the next several rounds to find a usuable tandem, or do who take an OK rb as your first RB.

For me, in that spot, I am likely to take a wr and then the best available back, figuring that there is always some WW gem out there in a couple of weeks. WR/WR becomes somewhat more viable, but are you willing to spend multiple draft picks to lock up the NE, HOU, INDY etc. running games in the hopes of getting 2 starters? I would not go rb/rb or QB/anything in that spot

FWIW, I have 11 in a 12 teamer upcoming on monday

Tough call at this pick...I had the 11th of 12 last night.

I took RB at 1.11 and went with CJ at 2.02.

Looking at the RBs left, I felt I'd be reaching for all of them. Of course, with my next selection 22 picks away, I almost always have to reach for some players when drafting from that position.

If I did reach for an RB, I'd be passing on a stud WR. Passing on a stud WR would mean that I wouldn't have a stud at that position as they'd be gone before the draft rolled back around.

So, I chose the stud WR.

I actually ended up drafting RB, WR, WR, RB, RB last night. I don't think I've ever done that before, but I'm happy with the result. I've been in this league 10 years and last night's draft was very strange with players falling to me...never had it happen. Ended up with Brown, CJ, Boldin, Parker, Gore.
