**Streaming Defense 2015** Week 15 - Playoffs: No time to get cute (1 Viewer)

Carolina has a nice matchup at TB but I don't really think they are that good of a defense. Thinking of going with the Packers at SF or Philly at Was.

Am I crazy for considering GB (@SF, Stl, SD) for the next 2-3 weeks? Even after managing an 8 last night despite giving up all those points once they were way ahead?

I have an okay option (Car) this week, but looking ahead to week 5 a bit. This week it feels like sticking to your guns or taking a longshot on someone like GB, Oakland or Cincy.

Keeping Philly vs Wash. They're starting to come on now and Sproles can take one to the house any time he touches the ball.

Here's Yahoo's top scoring defenses and pct owned.

Denver 83%

Arizona 94%

Seattle 100%

NY Jets 73%

St Louis 89%

Carolina 79%

Philadelphia 78%

Tennessee 5%

New England 92%

Minnesota 11%

Buffalo 96%

Kansas City 60%

Cincinnati 20%

Baltimore 65%

Cleveland 30%

Green Bay 65%

Worth holding onto the Patriots defense during the bye? Hate rostering two DEFs and feel like Philly has a better shot at putting up decent numbers this week and here on out.

Holding on to the Jets for sure since I burned my top waiver spot on them.

Hoping for some free agents to come in as people holding onto 2 DST have to drop them due to bye weeks and injuries. The Pats DST might be such a unit

I'd say no. In our scoring system, they have had one good week.

I'll be dropping them.

Cincy is in the jungle the next 2 games against KC and SEA with the way they've been scoring on O there should be some good opportunities to tee off.

Riding with Philly for a while. It will be hit or miss. They get some quality shots at punt returns and KO returns
@wash

NO

NYG

@car

four good matchups before their bye. I'm dropping Carolina vs TB even though it's sweet this week (we have a short bench so need to plan ahead), next wk they are on a bye then face Sea Philly Ind GB which could light them up 3 if not 4 weeks in a row.

I'm really struggling making a decision. I drafted Houston who's been very disappointing. Not interested in starting them this week. The best options on my wire for this week are Baltimore, Cincy, Minny, and Oakland. Leaning towards Oakland or Baltimore.

So week 4 should be a good barometer of who the good, the bad and the ugly are as far as opposing Offenses go.

The top 10 most giving Offenses (scoring systems may vary) have been:

Chicago

Kansas city

San Diego

San Francisco

Tennessee

St Louis

Cleveland

Denver

Jacksonville

Tampa bay

The stingiest:

Arizona

New England

Green Bay

Atlanta

NY Giants

Oakland

Cincinnati

Pittsburgh

Buffalo

Baltimore

Jets got dropped in my league, so I snapped them up to pair with Cinci. Not sure who I'm going with this week -- both have good matchups. Probably Cinci because they're more likely to win.

What sucks is that Jets play NE on Cinci's bye week, so I'll have to drop one of them.

How are people rating ARI for ROS? They've been creeping up in the consensus rankings but should they really be ranked above say BUF as the Cards have the easier schedule for the next few weeks?

Might drop CAR for BAL. Ravens get the Vick Steelers on a short week, then CLE next week.
Yep I'm going after BAL too. Hoping for many sacks with Vick back there.
I like BAL for the next 3 weeks, after Vick they get Cleveland at home and SF on the road.
I'd like to see PIT once with Vick before I start streaming against them. They still have two of the best players in Brown and Bell.

I just dropped CAR for GB. CAR is on a bye next week, so if you are streaming, they will be dropped next week anyway.

I like having the option of GB's schedule and I won't keep CAR.

Dropped Baltimore and picked Jets for week 3. Now I'm thinking of picking Baltimore back up since they have a very nice 3 week schedule until their bye. Problem is, I have to drop the Jets because I have no room in my roster.

Having second thoughts about Panthers for week 4. Looks like Kuechly is going to be held out yet again (really really hope he's o.k. long term; scary looking concussion he had); pass rush is minimal w/ Charles Johnson injured & now on IR.

Im sticking with Cincy and hoping for the best.
Bengals are my play as well. They couldn't cover Steve Smith last week, but they should be able to limit the Chiefs in Paul Brown Stadium.

Streaming D has been a disaster for me this season. I've scored just 5 / 3 / 2 over the past three weeks, with the Eagles / Colts / Browns respectively. Hoping a team will break from the back, and I can get off this merry-go-round of pain.

Thanks to all who contribute on this thread. It's one of my favorites in the Shark Pool.

I grabbed GB as well. If they get ahead and force SF to throw, that ought to be a recipe for success. Then two home games where they should again be forcing the opponent to air it out to stay close.

Mostly good things happen when the opponent has to abandon the run.

when in doubt, thursday is out. dont worry about vick, worry about brown taking 5 yard slants to the house and bell getting 30 touches.

ill be streaming cincy vs kc.

Somebody used waiver claim on Atlanta so stuck with Raiders. Can't figure how any of the defenses you guys are mentioning are available

Don't like them against Seattle and while KC has been charitable thus far, I'm not so sure that'll remain the case. Remember, they had to face Denver and go into Green Bay.

Anybody picking up he Jaguars this week since they're facing the lowest rated passer?

:ducks:
Funny because I consult Numberfire's projections when picking my streaming Defense and in one league Jax is the highest projected defense of teams available. They have them at #9 overall this week.

I guess this is based on the excessive amounts of turnovers 1st 3 weeks because their projections are completely metrics based.

I would be curious if anyone could shed some light on them as a defensive unit, as I'm actually considering it (also Oakland another perennial loser). Haven't seen them much and tend to forgive the NE beatdown as they made Buffalo's defense look pedestrian.

Very hard to figure because the second half of the schedule is much tougher.

As good as the start has been - look at who they have played - NO, CHI, SF - I think those teams have one win between them

BUT they do have really good playmakers in the secondary - Honey Badger will have a better year than Peterson fantasywise and so far the front end has held up really well

Grabbed the Colts but also rostered the Ravens with a great schedule coming up. I'm very tempted to play them tonight against what I think will be a hapless Mike Vick but the Jags have been just so inept that I can't pull the trigger.

The Jags secondary was beat up against Pats but they're getting Cyprien and Sample back at safety and Gratz back at corner. End of the Pats game, they literally had UDFA at both safeties and both corners.

Other problem with rolling with Jags is that Luck has struggled vs blitz and Jags are not a blitzing defense.

If Hasslechrone is in there they might be a sleeper.

I can't pick any defense correctly. Forget it
That's what I thought through the first two weeks. My four combined defenses in two leagues had totaled 7 points. But last week I went with Denver in one league and Arizona in the other. 45 combined points! Keep the faith!
Big league. Only about 7 defenses available. Rolling with Raiders this week
Also looking at the Raiders in a big league. Do we trust them more than the Browns?

OAK is @ CHI and CLE is @SD, so not ideal in either case from a location standpoint.

I'm rolling with Oakland for now, Alshon sitting out helps me out. But if Luck is inactive I'm going to swap out for Jax.

Can't believe I'm debating between Jax & Oakland and I feel pretty good about it.
