**Streaming Defense 2015** Week 15 - Playoffs: No time to get cute (1 Viewer)

Foster, Hopkins, and the mercurial Hoyer. I'm wondering where the Miami DST points are gonna come from.

Anyone buying Buffalo this week? I like the matchup...
Debating it -- drafted them and held because I thought they could live up to how they look on paper, but so far, they haven't been a good fantasy D compared with playing the matchups week to week.

I have been "semi-streaming" this year, and in year's past -- try to get a solid D and carry an extra D to rotate based on matchups. But would rather that second D be more useful any given week than guess weekly matchups.

Grabbed PIT off the wire this week as I think they have a better longer term prognosis than other options (MIN, ATL). So debating hard between them and the Bills this week.

Bills have generated more FFPs on the road in the past 4 weeks than at home, and JAX at home doesn't scare me. But Bortles can rack up points/yards, and I have a feeling KC/PIT may be a low scoring game in general (with Landry Jones not sustaining his last performance, and the KC O generally sucking).

Im really liking Pitt's schedule before the bye, @KC, CIN, OAK, CLE, I might just roll with them for the next 4 weeks and hope they can be serviceable at home against CIN in what should be Big Ben's return game. Plus Shazier and Jarvis Jones should be back this week to solidify the D even further.

Well I ended up landing on the Broncos around week 2-3, but obviously with them on a bye I am dipping into the well this week.

Redskins or Steelers basically, I've picked up the Skins for just now but it's a tough one between the two - both have been solid Ds and the Skins are at home to Tampa. However, Tampa is coming rested off the bye. Steelers go to a difficult stadium but Kansas is aneamic just now.

I think Skins have the higher floor maybe since Winston will take risks, but then again they possibly have the lower floor as well.

Eagles, Panthers, Steelers all available. Trying to prioritize my waiver order for picking one of them up. Steelers seem like the best this week play, the others maybe have better rest of the season outlook? Not sure..

I'm rolling with the Steelers, but worried about it being at KC and Landry throwing a pick 6 -- nothing worse than an offense giving up points to screw your defense play ---- somebody make me feel better about it!

Have MIN & gonna roll with them

Not sure Vikings are a great pick. If Stafford takes 8 shots downfield like he did Week 6 they might do some damage. Then again he has 10 turnovers this year. Plus AA has four fumbles (1 negated by penalty) in six games.
Went with MIN this week, it will at least sooth the pain and give me something to cheer about when the Lions make a bonehead mistake.

Solid

I ended up dropping MIN; using PIT @ KC instead. Vikings should be a good choice through Week 10 if you want to keep your churn rate down.

I dropped Rams DEF and now I'm rolling with Jets DEF. They have a tough matchup this week, but they have a good schedule in the next weeks (@OAK, JAC, BUF). I'm thinking about picking one of those DEF to start this week:

Eagles @CAR

Panthers v PHI

Redskins v TB

Falcons @TEN

Vikings @DET

Dolphins v HOU

I picked up MIN in both leagues. They've forced some turnovers and are looking solid but not stellar. Hoping last week was just a part of Stafford playing a bad Bears defense and he collapses again.

Plus it's fun to cheer for my home team.

Anyone like BUF anymore? Chance they turn it around like Miami?
I'd hold off and see if Rex changes the scheme. If they keep dropping one in coverage and only rushing three, no I don't think it gets better. But it sounds like Ryan wants more pressure so I'm interested to see what they do in London to try and get to Bortles.

Going to roll with the Chiefs. Pitt comes into a loud Arrowhead with the 3rd stringer starting, I see 4 sacks and 2 INTs with hopefully some from of Def/Special teams TD mixed in.

If it ain't workimg, you gotta fix it right?

Just a heads up from something i learned from gambling. You always bet against the team the week before they travel to london. I believe its 15-2-1 past few years against the spread so currently Pit is -3 so I'm taking them to win this game by that spread. Goodluck if you stream the defense but odds are it might not play out well for you.

Missed on a lot of the mentionables this week but I managed to scrape the bottom with TB vs Wash and a mistake prone Cousins.

Define past few years. Regardless, there have only been 12 games in London since it started in 2007, so not sure where you are getting your numbers.

I can't vouch for the numbers but 12 games in London would equivocate to 24 for what he's talking about.

You were thinking there was only one outcome in those 12 games. There were 24.

Also, he is cherry picking.

Lions are 5-0 their last 5 games vs Bears, 0-7 their last 7 vs anyone else.

i picked up atl, you have been warned

any of you smart guys have the playoffs mapped out yet? it's almost time to hold if there's a particularly good playoff stretch out there. i have held the titans for the max/oak/jax stretch, not playoffs, but it looks tantalizing on paper

This is really incredible and I realize that GB is probably owned everywhere (next week) but Denver is one of the better DST matchups these days, they've allowed more FF points than Detroit and are tied for most picks (10). Cle scored a big pick 6 just this last Sunday. For future reference, I know I still overlook the Denver matchup almost automatically.

It really is odd --I guess it shows how good their defense is playing if the offense has been giving it up --

Slightly off topic, but what defenses are you guys looking at holding for the playoffs? I'm 5-1 with an open roster spot and a stacked team. Want to start looking ahead at grabbing a defense to hold just for the playoffs, ideally a team dropped for bye week or I can target in trade. The Rams have home games with Det W14 and TB W15, but at Sea W16. I'm expecting to get a first-round bye so don't really care about W14. Phi is home all playoffs with Wash W16, Ari W15, Buf W14. Sea is home with Cle W15 and Rams W16, at Bal W14. Jets have Ten at home W14, at Dallas W15 but dreaded NE W16. Min home with Chi and NYG W15 and 16. Patriots home vs Ten W15 and at NYJ W16.

After watching Dallas against the Pats then having a bye, I've got a gut feeling on them this week.
I completely agree.

Greg Hardy is a bad human but he is a really good football player. You have Gregory coming back this week as well and I really believe Eli Manning will be under constant pressure. Going into the Pats game the Patriots offense was hitting on all cyclinders but the Cowboys really hit them hard. Ultimately the Pats O wore down the Cowboys defense because the Cowboys offense couldn't stay on the Field but at the end of the day the Cowboys Defense still had a pretty good day. Coming off the bye and with Cassels at the helm and Michael likely taking over a lot of McFadden "the human slug"'s touches the offense should be better. I really could see them torment Eli all day and the offense doing enough to stay on the field longer.

I also think with Dez coming back soon and Romo coming back eventually the Dallas Defense could be one of the best units the rest of the year.

If they're available, check out the Pats. Tenn Week 15 and Jets Week 16.

Really the rest of their schedule from here on out is pretty defense-friendly.

Are Jets still considered a plus matchup? I guess if you assume another late-season swoon from Fitzpatrick. But Yahoo has them listed as exactly middle of the pack (15th fewest points to fantasy Ds).

What’s that? Ah — Playoffs? Don’t talk about — playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game! Another game.

Miami - even with that upcoming schedule - might be the diamond in the rough. They should've been one to begin with. That's on Philbin.

Does anyone start them against NE tho? No way.

MINNESOTA got a cold start, but redeemed themselves with a bunch of sacks and a late 1st and goal to go 4 play stop.

I'll take 8 points with the way they started.

Miami nearly had a second consecutive monster day on Sunday but then gave up a lot of garbage 2nd half. Was still a good day.

Mia @ NE is looking sketchy and so is Den vs GB.... though Denver is looking like its having one of those great years where no matchup is really bad.

eta - Chiefs DST is playing a lot better and gets Detroit at home.
