Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (25 Viewers)

They added several American Experiences recently.  Last night we watched the one on Orson Welles' production of War of the Worlds in '38.  The actor "interviews" were a little annoying, but AE does a great job with informative docs.
The excellent 2014 Orson Welles documentary "Magician" is streaming on Amazon Prime

Does "Better Call Saul" pick up the pace after the first season? I watched season 1 and loved the acting (also a big Breaking Bad fan) but I didn't care for the story much.
I'm in the early parts of S2. It's not much for action per se but things do pick up. I think your attachment to the show is in direct relation to him as a character rather than anything BB.

Never got into Bloodlines.  Saw the first episode and it totally failed to connect.

Shows I do watch:

Shameless

Silicon Valley

Game of Thrones

VEEP

Better Call Saul

Lucifer

Other Good View:

Freaks & Geeks (only one season.  shame it didn't have a longer shelf life)

Is the finale more of this dreamland crap? I may not even bother.
I could never walk away from a series with only one episode left no matter how bad the reviews... it's only an hour... but most people had a mixture of anger and WTF after the final episode.

The dream sequences in Bloodline weren't even the worst part.

The resolution to the John Leguizamo storyline was ridiculous.
I agree. Actually I completely forgot what his significance was from last season and still have no idea. His presence this season was completely pointless except to show up suddenly and scare the #### out of Sally. So dumb.

I liked his character, and I thought he deserved a better resolution. That ending for him made no sense.

Kevin packing up the fam and taking a boat over to Cuba wasn't the writers' finest hour either. Nor John's constant waffling, then finally confessing to the boss and he basically doesn't give a rat's ###? Yeah we're cops, we get away with stuff, yawn. Bye, I'm moving to frigid Boston!

I don't even dislike an ambiguous ending. I think I'm in the minority on being okay with how the Sopranos ended for example. This just wasn't good.

The taking a boat over to Cuba reminds me of the Dexter finale.  If you compare it to that disaster, I'm sure the conclusion of Bloodline sits a bit better.

Here's how I would've ended Bloodline:

The Eric O'Bannon trial goes pretty much as we saw, except one day while O'Bannon is out cleaning up trash with the other inmates, he walks over to take a piss near a small creek. Suddenly an alligator explodes out of the water, snagging O'Bannon in its jaws and pulling him under. One of the guards sees what happened and pulls his gun, but it's too late.

John is not conflicted about anything that has happened. No separation from the wife. Steak & lobster every night. He's elected county sheriff in a landslide.

No Danny flashbacks and his name is not mentioned once all season.

Kevin and Beau Bridges continue their business partnership and are wildly successful. The new marina opens, where John Leguizamo works as a bartender and enjoys performing magic tricks at the bar, which is packed with tourists every night.

It is revealed that Meg is carrying Diaz's baby.

Danny's kid hooks up with Chelsea O'Bannon, who spends much of the season in bikinis and lingerie.

In a final sweeping montage, movers are hauling furniture into Kevin's huge new mansion, Kevin gives his wife a kiss and the camera pans down to her very pregnant belly. John & Diana are helping the daughter move into a dorm at the University of Miami. Meg is sitting on a rocking chair at the inn, breastfeeding little baby Ricardo and gazing out at the ocean as Sally looks on with a serene smile. Back at the creek, O'Bannon's leg floats to the surface, only to be snatched again by the gator, who winks at the camera. Out on a boat at sunset, Danny Jr. proposes to Chelsea, and the two embrace. Chelsea is completely nude. Back at the inn, Meg's left breast is empty, so she slowly, slowly shifts the baby to her right breast. The camera focuses on her exposed left breast for 40 seconds, as Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville" starts playing. Fade to black. :bowtie:

I bailed on Dexter with two episodes left.  Probably the only good decision I've made in my entire life.

I really wish my wife has better taste in TV shows. I'd like to watch more of these with her.
Yea. This is me. My wife loves all that housewife crap primarily. She has made attempts to watch a show with me and I end up wanting to Take a picture frame off the wall and smash it on her head as she spends most of the time saying how boring the show is or why is that guy just sitting is his car all the time?

She did give stranger things a try and enjoyed it. I watched it a 2nd time so she could give it a shot but she still finds a way to be annoying....asking me what's will happen. I'm like wtf.  Watch and see .....oh just tell me.

Women ruin everything.

I'm maybe 7 episodes into "Handmaids Tale" and I can it's the best show of the year. GREAT writing. Acting is top notch too. It's political, sure, but not in a hectoring way. It's so good. A shame it's in Hulu and none of you will see it.

I hated the last few episodes so I'm with you but they actually went to the Bahamas (pretty sure I looked that city up) and not Cuba. They tried to throw them off with the Cuba thing but his idiot wife left her phone on.

As for John - I think the Sherriff didn't believe him - the diving accident left his brain scrambled, which led to all the dream sequence bull####.

Really does make me kind of angry - they could have written a great ending and it would have been a stellar show IMO.

This actually would have been a better ending and your joking around.

we talked about Catastrophe in here (Amazon show)... been binging it the last week after watching S1 a while back. S2 and part of S3 so far- big fan. dysfunctional, brutally honest, bitingly funny and loving/lusting couple. rest of the cast is hilarious. one of my favorite comedies right now with Veep and Silicon Valley

I like it, not sure why there are so many poop jokes.

I'm a pretty big fan of the show. it knows what it does well and sticks to it pretty consistently. this is my favorite character.

The Keith Robinson standup is also pretty good.  I have a soft spot for the guy because Bill Burr constantly talks about him.  Pretty funny though.
