Last Days Here

-In this poignant documentary portrait, an aged and gaunt Bobby Liebling, the former lead singer of the heavy metal act Pentagram, rallies to restart his life after decades of disappointment and drug addiction.

King of Devil's Island

-This gripping drama tells the true story of the uprising at the notorious Bastoy Boys Home correctional facility on a Norwegian island. When a new boy arrives, he inspires the inmates to rise up against the daily brutal treatment they experience.

The Vicious Kind

-There's nothing like first love to bring family tensions to a boil in this dark comedy, nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards. Adam Scott stars as Caleb Sinclaire, whose emotions go haywire when his brother (Alex Frost) brings home new girlfriend Emma (Brittany Snow). As the dysfunctional family is propelled into chaos, Caleb and Emma confront their mutual distrust and attempt to resist a growing sexual attraction.

Until the Light Takes Us

-Taking viewers deep inside the notorious "Inner Circle" that promoted murder, suicide and church burning in the Norwegian black metal subculture of the 1990s, filmmakers Aaron Aites and Audrey Ewell offer up a nuanced and fascinating documentary. Rare footage and interviews with musicians -- including Gylve "Fenriz" Nagell, Varg "Count Grishnackh" Vikernes and Jan Axel "Hellhammer" Blomberg -- shed light on the controversial movement.

I just started the first season of Sherlock last night. I really like the characters and think I will like the show. Two small quibbles with the first episode though:

Sherlock is able to make all these deductions so easily, but didn't realize it was the cab driver and not the passenger at first?? I guessed it was a cab way sooner. Also, the cabbie hiding in plain sight and kidnapping people was used in Luther as well.

Secondly, the final showdown was pretty much from The Princess Bride. I was waiting for him to pull the old switcharoo and start laughing while later saying he had an immunity.

Love this show.

Didn't read every page, so i'm not sure if Jericho was mentioned...but it was a great show. only 1.5 seasons as the network cancelled it...however it has been continued via graphic novel. And Netflix is in talk with CBS about bringing the series back for netflix

amazing show IMO

Pontypool - Really interesting twist on the Zombie movie. Great acting, just set in the Radio Station, keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Well worth the watch

Three episodes into "The Larry Sanders Show." It really holds up. Seen a handful of episodes over the years. Looking forward to plowing through these.

Hey Now!

Just finished the Jericho series. Man why did this not get more TV ratings love? Great series. Obviously they rushed to finish it unfortunately, but well worth the watch.

I guess the one good thing about being laid up in bed with a bad back is watching some great tv!

I think I remember it had solid ratings for about 8-9 episodes and then they ordered more and put it off for a month to film. When it came back they moved its day and time without much advertising and it did poorly. It would go on to switch time slots and days very often without much notice until they killed it once and for all. My friends and I who were keeping up with the show still had trouble finding when it was on and if it was a new episode or rerun.

Let the Right One In...Swedish Vampire flick but not just gore, lot of story to it, pretty good flick.
Just saw this. "Pretty good flick" is about as big an understatement as I've seen on this board. With the sole exception of the cat thing, it's as close to perfect a film I've seen in a while. The actress who played Eli was phenomenal. And the cinematography was gorgeous in a completely bleak way.

I just got Netflix and I'm a little disappointed. There does not seem to be an extremely large selection, is this because I have a trial pass? I thought every movie was available there.
AgreedI knew their selections were a little more limited than what you can get on DVD but as I search for moives my wife and I would like to stream I am finding little to nothing avaiable.

I guess this is one of those lines in the sand films.Painful getting through this one for me.
First time I saw it, I hated it passionately. But I gave it another shot and did a 180. Fantastic movie
Here's the only thing I can say to defend Mulholland Drive: no one makes movies like Lynch. I can't say I always understand them, nor can I say I really enjoy them. But Lynch's best movies are the closest thing I've ever seen to a movie capturing a dream state.
