Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (59 Viewers)

Thor will start streaming on June 9th!

Once again Netflix cannot get Thor up and streaming the week the Avengers was released...oh no they wait until 5 weeks go by and thn start streaming one of the movies you might want to see before watching the Avengers.
:lmao:
Shut it off after about 20-30 minutes...Natalie Portman showed up and ligthsabers were sprung out by everyone...I don't know what the hell was going on in that movie. I might try again.
Yeah it is highly complicated. Only the most advanced intellects could possibly keep up.

If you like "R" rated comedies and haven't seen the criminally underrated Outside Providence...it just got added to streaming today.

Good flick
I went to watch this last night and didn't see it on there. Did it really only stay on there for 4 days ?
Instant Watcher lied to me. It was listed with a 6/1 date on the upcoming list. Sorry. From my experience its almost impossible to find as a rental.
It's on there now.

Anybody use/familiar with Crackle(.com)? Someone told me about it yesterday and just checked it out. While their quantity of content (especially TV shows) is not near as vast as Netflix, I think their movie quality is actually better than Netflix at first glance - and its free. Im not sure how long movies stay up there, but it looks like they add 20-30 per month and have about 250 up there now. So movies up there now include:The 6th DayAdaptation.Basic Instinct 2Big DaddyThe Big HitThe Cable GuyCandy ManDefendorDeuce Bigelow: European GigoloThe Devil's BackboneEasy RiderElegyFlatlinersFright NightGhostbustersGhostbusters 2The Imaginarium of Dr. ParnassusIt Might Get LoudKung Fu HustleLayer CakeThe MessengersMoonPanic RoomRECRed HillReign Over MeResident EvilRevolverSWATSeraphim FallsSlackerSnatchSpunThe SquareStarship TroopersStranger than FictionTalladega NightsVarious music documentaries and concerts (Pearl Jam, The Who, Queen, U2, Beastie Boys, Van Morrison, and others)Not a great list by any means, but enough decent stuff to keep me occupied if I want to watch a movie, and enough movies to make me consider getting rid of Netflix IW.
The only problem with Crackle is that only 15 minutes of the movie load up at a time and then there's a commercial right in the middle of a scene. A little off-putting, but if you're desperate for a particular flick, I suppose you'd stick thru with it despite this quirk.

Some actual screen writing might have helped.

It's THOR for Pete's sake. Everybody expected it to suck horrendously and it was actually pretty solid and fun.

Next to the first Iron Man, Thor was my favorite of the movies leading up to Avengers. Thought he was a lame comic character as a kid, but Hemsworth completely owns the character. His comedic timing is pretty darn good.

Ended up watching this. Had a lot of fun with this one. Thanks for the recommendation. I was in the mood for something like this.

Watched "

Anyway, the doc was quite interesting especially when they're sitting at the mixing board and isolate certain tracks for some of the songs.Keith Moon was ridiculous. In every sense.

Tapped.

Great documentary on how the bottled water industry is slowly but surely polluting our planet. Not to mention how bottled water in general has shown traces of many cancer causing agents and how the industry is not even regulated. That's right, the only testing done on the bottled water you drink is ONLY being performed by the companies themselves. It should make you forego any desires you have to drink bottled water.

Interesting. I kind of want to see this now knowing how regulated public/tap water testing is yet this stuff isnt.

So what water should we drink then?

White Noise 2. I was hesitant to watch this, but it was actually pretty decent. The lead is Nathan Filliaon (guy from Firefly & Castle). Definitely better than the first movie.

Company out of Arkansas that ships water in glass but the cost is ridiculous.

pretty good list except leaving off Dexter, or is Dexter no longer available instant?
Yeah, it went off a while ago unfortunately.Seen 20 out of 30 (either in original run or on netflix.) Have no desire to watch most of the ones I haven't seen. I'd add:

Burn Notice

Supernatural

Stargate Sg-1

Farscape

South Park

Scrubs

Weeds

Rescue Me

The League

Jericho

Life

MI-5

and I'm sure a ton more I'm forgetting...

Rescue Me should certainly be on the list. This show was an absolute roller coaster. It would have you on the floor laughing before pulling your heart out of your chest.

The first couple of seasons are amazing. The last couple of seasons are a train wreck. I stayed with it to the end just for the sense of accomplishment, but don't expect them to sustain the greatness.

I agree with that. I think I watched the first three seasons at once and was totally hooked, waited for the rest to be released on dvd before catching up. It definitely lost steam but was always entertaining.

Yup. I did enjoy the finale quite a bit.

I enjoyed the first few seasons but I stopped watching when
they killed Leary's son

Is The Killing worth starting? I pretty much know how season 1 ends (heard a lot about it in media last year) but does Season 2 make Season 1 worthwhile?

Darkon

A riveting documentary of people who lacked friends in high school only to grow up to play real life dungeons and dragons as their escape.

Best Worst Movie

A tribute to arguably the worst movie of all time, Troll2. There remains a devoted following who sell out screenings across the country.

regular tap water with any impurities filtered out. We just bought one of these

Who is Harry Nilsson...and Why is Everyone Talking About Him?

About the legendary singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson. Excellent biopic. I had forgetton just how influential he was to so many singers/groups in such a relatively short span of years . Saying the dude had a wild life is an understatement. Some truly wild stories of his partying lifestyle along with great music. Highly recommend.

4/5 stars

I dug this quite a bit, I've even re-watched it a couple times. I think Troll 2 is also on there, or was, but I still haven't seen ihthat. The egos and personalities of some of these people is hilarious.

I thought the guy was a little pathetic. Clearly Troll 2 was the highlight of his life and he still seems to be holding onto the dream.

The hustler is a great movie. But Jackie Gleason as Minnesota fats is one of the best performances ever. A must watch for any serious movie fan.
