STUDS who are most likely to break your heart... (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
I'll throw one out there ... Reggie Wayne.

- Oakland's secondary gives up big plays here and there, but overall they are capable

- Anthony Gonzalez looks to be a reliable # 2 WR, so they aren't as dependant on Reggie

- Indy should be able to run all over Oakland, making it a below-average day from Manning

Who ya got???

I'll give you a few...

1. Willie Parker vs. JAC

2. Peyton Manning at OAK

3. Brett Favre - call me crazy, but I think the Packers will be ahead early and will run, run, run. Favre will be lucky to have two TD passes.

What do you guys see out of Palmer this week @ San Fran?

(not that he would even fit into the STUD category based on this year)

Yep. :hifive: Not to mention, the week after he plays in Chicago. I'm not all that concerned about the Bears defense, but anytime you play a game in Chicago in December, there's always the chance of horrible weather. And for those unfortunate souls among us with week 17 championship games, the Packers are likely to be locked into the 2 seed before they even take the field against the Lions that week. Shame too, with such a tasty matchup. You know Favre will start... but I can't see him going too long after that.

WellDespite his sucking last week (first round of the playoffs), he didn't manage to eliminate me.So, he should get the job done and knock me out this week Something like 14/21 for 135 maybe a touch...it's just gonna happen

I'm loaded with possibilities. My starting lineup:

Brady

SJax

Wayne

Andre Johnson

Braylon

Dallas Clark

Phil Dawson

MN D

There's no way I should lose -- easily the best team in the league, but take your pick on how someone will #### up.

Lets seen

Owens is the only real problem I see. I also went with Desmond Clark at TE...

Anderson - fighting for playoffs

Graham - same

Chester - same and running well

Owens - scares me but it is philly and at home

Edwards - see anderson

Clark - eh kyle orton? did he like clark?

Bucs D - hopefully plays well, as in a few turnvoers for TDs

All in all i have to worry about chester owens and clark.

You're asking about breaking my heart, so, in various leagues...

Big Ben

LT

AD

Braylon Edwards

Gates

TO

Hines Ward

Brady

Ryan Grant (is he a "stud"?)

Adrian Peterson.....oh wait, that was last week. :hifive:
I'm worried this week too.
Definately. You don't think Chicago remembers what he did to them last month? I wouldn't be surprised if they have people in the backfield as soon as the ball is snapped. There guys have some pride and will not let it happen again. They'd rather have Jackson beat them then allow a repeat of that. I mean the dude must've broke 5 tackles on each of his long runs that day. So, if you have AP this week I would be weary.

No I think Bulger will start and keep the Rams in the game enough for Farve to continue throwing it.Nfl.comNews: Rams quarterback Marc Bulger took all the repetitions in practice on Wednesday and is on track to return after missing two games with a concussion. Coach Scott Linehan said he'd wait until Friday, after two more days of practice and no symptoms, before saying Bulger will start Sunday's home game against the Packers. Linehan was cautiously optimistic after last week, when Bulger received medical clearance on Tuesday and practiced for two days before experiencing a setback and sitting out a 19-10 loss at Cincinnati. Bulger didn't want to compare how he felt on Wednesday to how he felt a week ago. "I'd hate to sit here and play a percentage game or guess whether I'm going to play or not," Bulger said. "I felt good today and I'm just going to wait until Friday." Analysis: If Bulger starts, he'd be a decent low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 Fantasy QB as he always is a candidate to post big numbers when playing at home, regardless of the opponent. If he can't go, third-string QB Brock Berlin would get the nod. Things are looking good for Bulger, but keep yourself posted by getting the news on him through us this week.

Tom Brady...I hope. Playin against him. :X

Most of my guys have that potential this week too:

Brian Westbrook

Selvin Young (still not convinced I'm gonna leave him in my lineup)

Andre Johnson

Fitzgerald (GTD)

Gonzo (who knows with that offense?)

That's my Fab5 RB/WR/TE starters this week folks!

Henry, instead of Young, or along with Young?

MoJo, @PIT...uh, no.

Holmes, with a gimpy ankle

Hackett is OUT

Somebody else mentioned it's their story to crash in the 1st week of the playoffs. My M.O. is 4th place in a league that pays 1st/2nd/3rd (3 years out of 4). So ya know what that means in this semi-final week? Or perhaps I'm due...

I'm weary about my whole starting lineup besides LT and the Minny DST (LOL). But this is why we play FF!

Manning

ADP

LT

Wayne

Holmes/R.Williams/Boldin (what a cluster f)

Lee/Daniels

Gould

Min DST

6/8 could have an off game. Not good for me being the #1 seed. Hopefully the #4 seed will have his own issues as well.

Willie Parker isnt a FF stud this year. Great RB, potential stud, but this year he just isnt one from a FF perspective. Im benching for LenDale White and it isnt even a hard decision for me.

Worried about breaking my heart:

Gates

ADP

Gore

Barber

Holmes

Marshall

Not worried about breaking my heart:

LT

Owens

Warner

Fitz

Romo

Surprised to see no one has mentioned TJ Housh.

He was a great stud at the beginning of the year, but has fell off dramatically. I wanted to pull him out of my line-up for Ant. Gonzo last week, but couldn't pull the trigger. I'm feeling the same way this week, but he is still in my line-up as we speak.

I don't know if he is injured or what, his target #'s still look good, but he is not producing FF #'s. Im just very weary that he will break his FF owners hearts this week.

/threadhijack

I don't think anyone on the internet has any idea what "weary" actually means. Not just in this thread, or on this site, but ANYWHERE.

I'm pretty sure you all mean "wary" or "leery."

Sorry, but this drives me nuts. Almost as much as people misspelling ridiculous with an "e."

/endthreadhijack

As far as in context for the thread....I'm still worried about Wayne. The more I look at that matchup with Nam the less and less I like it and the more I think Gonzalez is going to go ape-pooh if any of those WRs do. Can't afford to bench Reggie, but I'm not going to be real comfortable come game time.

And I suppose if I were a Manning owner I'd worry about him too. They may not need to pass much to beat Oakland. Addai should be great this week(Keith iffy to boot) and of course I'm playing against that b#$%$#%.

I think I'm making myself sick.

I'm a little nervous about Adrian Peterson this week, but I don't think he'll bomb like last week and I'm sure he won't go for 290 and 3TD's again. 100/1 would be fine.

And also, I don't think there is anyway Palmer and Chad Johnson stink it up against the Niners...........right? :nerd:

I don't see Palmer putting it together this weekend. The only ray of hope is that the Niners offense goes into 3 and out mode and that helps keep the Niners D on the field. The Bengals are just kicking way too many FG's for my taste,so he rides the pine for me this weekend.
