I WANT MY JULIUS THOMAS!

[/betterOffDead]
God I suck at this.
Week 3: Made the first real cut in ~8350th place. Dollars spent per point:

QB: $1.45 = $46/31.75. QB3 Jake Locker was my high scorer by 4+ points over QB4 Christian Ponder. QB2 Wilson has yet to score in 3 weeks.

RB: $1.88 = $73/38.80. RB1 MJD lead the way barely over RB3 Rodgers and RB4 Pead who combined for less than MJD's price. RB2 Ridley's been the overpriced bust. RB5 Redman and RB6 Michael have yet to score in 3 weeks.

WR: $1.30 = $73/56.10. WR1 Welker and WR4 Hartline have scored all 3 weeks. WR8 Thompkins obviously the value this week. Surviving without injured WR2 Amendola and WR6 Jacoby Jones. WR7 McCluster has yet to score in 3 weeks.

TE: $2.75 = $39/14.20. Pricey position. Last two weeks only got one score out of 3 TEs. No doughnuts from these guys for the season, though.

K: $0.69 = $09/13.10. All three cheap kickers have contributed each week, with a 4pt delta from K1 to K2 this week (7pt delta in week 2).

D: $1.25 = $10/08.00. Saints D has scored all 3 weeks.

I feel like I'm going crazy - I just updated my database with scores for the past two weeks, and there are 25 more teams in the contest than there are in my database. I am 99.9999% sure that this is some kind of error on my end. OC's live scoring site has the additional 25 entries that I'm missing so it's pretty clear I screwed something up.

It's weird because I have 14,398 teams in my DB (including staff entries), and I even recall going to http://subscribers.footballguys.com/contest/2013/114399.php to make sure there wasn't anything there when I started to build the DB the morning the rosters went live. And when I generated the week 1 scores and standings, I could've sworn I matched them up with the ones posted on the site to make sure my DB was working correctly, which would imply that these 25 entries were added after week 1 was over. But I must be misremembering. I have been busy with other stuff this season.

:tinfoilhat:

Anyway, for anyone who may have downloaded the database I posted in thread a week or two ago, you'll need to update it to include teams 114399 - 114423. I apologize for the mistake and full refunds are on the way.

Thank you Kendell Hunter. Nice fill in for Lacy and the rest of my stud-bums pretending to be RBs.

Hoping to continue my trend of all 3 TEs scoring for me each week. Really wishing I hadn't swapped out Gordon for Blackmon. And then added Manuel and changed out Cameron to find the $ to do so. That hurts a lot right now.

Cameron seems unlikely to keep getting TDs at this pace though, so Gordon's what I'm beating myself up about.

Same here. My top two RB's and WR's last week were Bernard, Blount, Hill and Thompkins.

Thank goodness for my 3 TEs, the 3 combined are averaging 80 points a week for my team. There is a 100% survival rate so far, for the 114 teams who have the above trio of TEs.

171.8 with Thomkins, and Gibson to go ( -13.80 and -10.30 ) might be able to score a few more points.Lot of scoring this week so cut line may be high.

Definitely seemed like a higher scoring week. Thought I might have been wasting a roster space on Antonio Gates, once upon a time, and it even seemed to be confirmed week 1 - but he's been money ever since. So far depth has been key for my roster - 27 players.

Looks like it could be an early exit. Sitting at 139.25 after late games.

Only have

Daniel Thomas (-8.3)

KenBrell Thompkins (-11.1)

Both could beat (-10,3) at flex

Sitting at 150.85 with:

  • Lamar Miller (-13.80)
  • Brian Hartline (-8.10)
  • Brandon Gibson (-11.10)
  • Kenbrell Thompkins (-11.10)
  • Jimmy Graham (-6.30)

Now at 169.25 with:

  • Lamar Miller (-13.80)
  • Jimmy Graham (-10.30)
  • Brian Hartline (-11.10)
  • Brandon Gibson (-8.00)

The cut will probably be in the low 150's. I am at 177 and feeling my strategy of going with Blackman and Gordon might have been a good idea.

After coasting through the first 3 weeks with well over 200, I am at 152 with Graham -8 left. I think I should make it, but this is still too close.

Now 203.75 + (Gibson - 20)

Still hate my RBs though. Powell being my main rushing threat is not a long term winning strategy.

Good luck to those sweating The Turk!

Edited as I goofed and gave myself one extra starter.

Is there an easy way to figure out my score without doing it manually?

Or just wait till Tuesday?
I just created a spreadsheet where I simply put in the stats from the games and it calculates the totals for me. Not hard at all...takes me about 10 minutes to get the numbers from the box scores and plug them in every Monday morning.

For me, 211.25 + Daniel Thomas (-9.9)

In the clubhouse with a 187.25. Welcome back, Mr. Blackmon (and thank you Reggie Bush, Alshon Jeffrey and the 'Skins defense for saving my ### this week).

This except 153.25 + Daniel Thomas (-8.3)

Luck 22.6

Bush 27.3

Helu 16.4

Quizz 14.8

Bernard 13.5

Thompkins 24.7

Gordon 11.1

Vinatieri 14.6

145 so far and I have Jimmy Graham and the NO Saints tonight...easily should hit 160 perhaps even 170+, not a good week for my WRs but I love the 2 flex format which allowed some cheapies like Helu and and Quizz to make the cuts this week.

I also have Celek and NE but that is only about 10 points between the 2 of them, Graham and the Saints should move well ahead of that.

Do fred davis and brandon myers even play in the nfl anymore? Just askin...
Fred Davis is my only total bust. Badly miscalculated his rapport with Griffin. Well, 49ers D is badly underperforming and hasn't been used yet, but I'm hopeful they'll at least show up for the Seahawks Bye.

My Usage:

QB: ($24) - Vick (3/4) Wilson (1/4)

RB: ($94) - Peterson (3/4) McCoy (3/4) Bush (2/4) Moreno (2/4)

WR: ($85) - Johnson (2/4) Garcon (4/4!) Bowe (1/4) Boldin (2/4) Thompkins (2/4)

TE: ($26) - Cameron (4/4) Davis (0/4) Thomas (3/4)

K: ($9) - Vinatieri (2/4) Gould (1/4) Crosby (1/4)

D: ($12) - Seattle (4/4) San Fran (0/4)

Over 200 points every week so far (averaging 220), but with such a short roster (19 players) it won't take much to boot me out. If I somehow make it that far the heavy byes week 9 look like a real problem, and of course the screw up with QB byes in week 12 screws me regardless.

Overall the strategy of balancing studs with some value picks has worked very well, but only because I got lucky with Boldin, Garcon, and Moreno, all less than 10% selected.

I was cooked until Gonzo and Thompkins came to the rescue. Ended up somewhere in the 170's

I'm dead money due to a huge chunk of my budget spent on injuries and duds (Gronk, Amendola, Ridley, Wilson), but it's nice to live on as long as possible

I'm out.

I'd like to thank Spiller/MJD/TRich for being utterly useless this year, and my TE trio of Cook/Davis/J. Thomas for not showing up to work this week.

The rest of my team was decent. I still think those guys were good picks at the time... they had massive upside to their cost at the beginning of the season. Bleh.

I'm probably right there with you. My super safe stud at rb theory is gonna cost me (Ray Rice, Spiller, Wilson ooof). Need like a 30+ pt game from Brees tonight to reach 146. Not holding my breath.
