Well I've been cruising along just fine, however next week is my time.

QBs- Luck (on bye), EJ (injured)

RBs- Spiller (injured and largely ineffective, wouldn't be surprised if he sat a week), Forte (BYE), MJD (uninspiring), David Wilson (uhh...yeah...), Chris Polk. Maybe MJD will show up and carry?

WRs- Green, D. Thomas, Andre (BYE), Thompkins: need a big week from my three WRs playing.

TEs- The way I see it, these three are going to decide my fate. Witten, Gonzo, and D. Thomas.

Next year I'm definitely going with a larger roster. I missed HARD on my RBs besides Forte. If I picked better/deeper here, I think I'd have a good chance of making it to the end. Maybe I'll go with a QB with an earlier BYE next year.

I've been barely skimming past the cut for the past few weeks, but at 139.55 for this week, it looks like it's time to give up the dream for another season. And I was just starting to lick my chops about all the increased opportunities from this week's injury fallout. :kicksrock:

Even if I make this week's cut (in the clubhouse with 148), losing Cutler means the end of my season. Kaep did enough this week to win, but I only have him and Vick as QBs going forward.

Maybe a swift and painless death this week is the way to go...

AP gives me a monster 7.4 points, where I end up at 148.90..... hoping the cut line doesn't move that high.... :scared:

Earliest exit ever and I actually like the composition of my team. In the end, Brady, McCoy, Bush, etc. just didn't have good weeks.

Good luck to those remaining. See you in the playoff contest.

Can definitely see myself running more kickers and maybe more than two defenses next year.
3 Kickers and 3 DST seem to be working well for me. I have scored at least 12 points from my K and DST positions, every week except one. And my DST and K all cost $3 each.
Really is the best value out there...doubt you can almost rely on double digits for any "player" each week with a total cost of $9...

The flip side is that there is relatively little variance in K and DST scores. I could take my lowest K score each week, and I'd still be in the contest.

Welps, as predicted my time here is done. When your qbs and rbs combine for 14 points, tough to stay alive. Gluck to everyone else out there still in the running.

That's because the rest of your team has been performing. If I took my lowest K and DST some weeks, that could be a combined 20 points lost from both positions. Just because there is little variance in the scores, doesn't mean you can afford to lose 20 points some weeks because you get 2 or 3 points from your K or DST.

I see people posting in this thread who have been short of the cutoff line by less than 1 point. I bet they could have used a couple more points from their "little variance" positions to make the cut.

I survived but could be done next week. With Luck on bye and Vick as my other QB, if he doesn't play I'll be saying bye to this me thinks.

say good night ebsteelers..

i thought i would make it to week 8 before i said adios but...literally my high score for the week was adam vinteari. brutal

I have a lot of Week 8 byes but I think I'm gonna make it through.. wish me luck.

Wayne and Bradford will hurt, but I'm still alive. No chance at winning this thing. I pretty much detest my team.

It's my first year doing it and I'm still chugging along. Definitely will go with more depth next year as a couple injuries have me getting barely advancing each week.

more depth, sleeper guys

and early bye weeks i think might be the way to go in the future.

could of put a team together with a lot of week 4 and 5 byes so that your at full strength in later weeks might be a good strategy also

Missed the cut by 1 point, (and I had 3 KICK/TE/DEF)

My wideouts did me in this week, it only used 2 and 1 had 4 points. :(

I was loving this year, but with Bradford out and no other back up for Manning week 9 is going to be brutal. It is great to still be alive, but the overriding feeling of eminent doom is almost worse than being knocked out.

Man week 8 is looking really bad for me, and week 9 doesn't look much better. Damn you Fred Davis (0 scores) and David Wilson (scored once). Everyone else has scored at least once or twice.

Made the cut! Now I get to try and make it without a QB this week. lol. Has that EVER happened, where someone advanced without a QB?
In the past people have talked about the strategy of only taking one qb with an early round bye. I believe some people have definitely made it past the early weeks with no Qb.

4 QBs @ $46

6 RBs @ $73

8 WRs @ $73

3 TEs @ $39

3 PKs @ $ 9

3 Ds @ $10

-----------

27 players, $250

I WANT MY JULIUS THOMAS!

God I suck at this.
Week 3: Made the first real cut in ~8350th place. Dollars spent per point:

(snip - detailed week 3 breakdown)
Week 4: With my RBs, thought I was dead, but ended up with my highest score in 4 weeks and alive in ~7770th place. Dollars spent per point:

(snip - detailed week 4 breakdown)
Week 5: Made the cut by about 20, but really thanks to:

(snip -detailed week 5 breakdown)
Week 6: Rough week for everyone in this contest as indicated by the low cut line...

(snip - detailed week 6 breakdown)
Week 7: Jacquizz! Fleener! McCluster! These names get me through this week, but do not bode well long term.At QB, QB1 Luck put up the high score of the year for me, but QB2 Wilson and QB3 Locker were about a rushing TD behind.

At RB, after two straight weeks of zeroes from 4 RBs, I only got 3 zeroes so improvement is on the way. RB3 Jacquizz Rodgers is saving my bacon while RB2 Ridley is starting to round into the guy I thought he was. RB1 MJD is back to having more single-digit weeks than double-digit ones. RB4 Pead and RB5 Redman are looking like $15 of dead money as they may not see a snap the rest of the way while I hold out faint hope that RB6 Michael sees some late-season rookie snaps...if I make it that far.

At WR, WR1A Welker goes 7-for-7 in weekly scoring while WR4 Hartline returns from his bye to resume scoring. WR7 McCluster put up the Flex1 score while all other WRs floundered in single digits. WR3 Chris Givens is looking like the big disappointment so far as I really misjudged what I thought would be a breakout year.

At TE, TE2 Fleener came through huge while TE1 Witten managed the Flex2 score. TE3 Celek put up his lowest score of the year.

At PK, Feely barely outscored Hauschka for his 2nd score of the year for me.

At D/ST, the Chargers finally get on the scoreboard with their 6-sack, 1-INT game, barely edging the Giants. They finally broke the string of 6 straight Saints scores...maybe because the Saints were on a bye.

I'm amazed I survived. I really thought I was done for. The next couple of weeks are a minefield though, and I don't think I'll make it through.

Wilson 4/7

Romo 3/7

--> Pretty much what should be expected when going 2 QB at the same price.

Charles 7/7

McCoy 6/7

Wilson 0/7

Helu 3/7

J Bell 4/7

--> So much regret in Wilson. It was him or Lacy, and I went the wrong way. Helu and Bell have been able to bail me out more than expected.

Megatron 4/7

Hartline 4/7

V Brown 2/7

A Roberts 1/7

Wheaton 0/7

McCluster 2/7

Avant 2/7

Hankerson 2/7

Thompkins 3/7

--> really whiffed in the middle...going to need something from Brown and Roberts. Not sure what I saw in Wheaton.

Graham 4/7

Allen (out) 0/7

J Thomas 5/7

--> I may be able to survive without Graham this week, but I'll need him week 9 with Thomas (and Calvin Johnson) on a bye.

Hauschka 4/7; Crosby 3/7; Forbath 0/7

Colts 3/7; Lions 4/7; Eagles 0/7

Teams with Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas and Jimmy Graham: 114

Survival rate for teams with these plans: 100.00 percent

:pickle:
I have these three! Best choice I made with my team!
Welcome to the (what I like to think is an) exclusive club!114 for life...

...or at least until this thing is over.
If I had these three (I don't) I think I'd be rooting for some attrition. If all advance, that's less chance of these guys making a significant impact for you in the finals.
I have all 3 as well, but I also have (had) Julio...so count me out...
Survived with 170 this week, but it's just a matter of time before no Julio, possibly injured Graham, and no QB or WR depth catches up to me.

Somehow still hanging in there. I knew I was out this week with only Schaub and Vick as my QB's. :yucky: Thanks to the return of Gronk I was able to slide on through till next week.

Made the cut! Now I get to try and make it without a QB this week. lol. Has that EVER happened, where someone advanced without a QB?
Easier than you'd think. Take a look at how many weeks where you subtract your QB score from your regular score to see if you survived and you'll get a feel from how hard it is. This week will actually be easier with so many people missing so many players. Short rosters should get slaughtered this week.

Agree by far. I have found that doing the 3 PK and 3 TD and then staggering their byes so you only have 1 of those 6 choices off works incredibly well. IMO, a must have every year.

I feel like I should have a nice advantage with my 29 man roster over the next few weeks. This is my first time going with a larger roster, and based on the way it's worked so far, I don't think I'm going back.

197.75 this week, lots of contributions. The Romo/Kaep project has actually worked pretty well. A low of 19.2 so far now that Kaep has come back a bit. If Graham is back healthy, I like everything but my RBs. I just wish I bailed on Miles Austin and David Wilson for a real stud. Forte out this week may be a bit tough with only Bernard left at RB. Just hoping the tough byes the next two weeks bring down the cut line a bit. Kerley, Thompkins and Julius Thomas have been really solid for $9 between them since they have contributed 13 weeks so far. Austin/Wilson have combined to contribute 1 week and I don't see that changing any time soon.

Other than week 1 (16 points), I have gotten a combined 22.4-31.3 from my K/D and I only have 2 a piece. I spent $8 in both spots and so far I don't regret it, but I do like the thought of 3 a piece for next year.

Helu-23

Quizz-21

And that's about it so good luck everyone, cheers.

Gordon, nada, TE-not much, Thompkins-nada, D.Jax-nada, Whole team #### the bed today, good luck to anyone left standing after today.
It really bites when all your most significant players have a bad week at the same time.

Better luck next year if the rest of your squad doesn't step up.
Unreal but they did, you got the midas touch buddy.

Ironically, I have used primarily the same 2 K and the same 2 D each week for the first 6 weeks. This is the first week where I have used my 3rd K and my 3rd D. If I didn't have them, I would have been eliminated this week. From that perspective, glad I had the third available as it saved my bacon!

Not necessarily, the money you would have saved not getting a third kicker / defense maybe would have been spent on something that would had advanced you last week.
